While changing my address on ******** I am referred to their 3rd party ************************** to complete address change request. Unbeknownst to me the request to update my address has already been submitted and paid for, this third party website is to aid in the moving process. It offers services to help transfer internet, renters insurance, coupons for retailers. The site would not let me decline the offers and forced me to select something, now I get calls about transferring my internet service that I did not need or wanted to request.Business Response

MyMove has been inserted into the Change of Address forms within ****'s official website and MyMove employs dark patterns of user experience to prevent users from being able to click away from their predatory and information insecure offers.For example, I thought I was clicking to redirect from the **** site to my state's change of address forms. I thought I would be transferred from one secure government site to another.Instead, I landed on a page with usually optional coupons, and to advance to the next screen, I had to opt into at least one coupon to get to the next offer. There was no option to say "no thanks" there was only "all offers" or "just the options selected," which was greyed out and unclickable if you did not accept at least one offer. I chose an offer for dog food since I do not own a dog.Then I was directed to an insurance screen which attempted to collect additional information from me such as home ownership status, income, cars, etc. at which point I considered MyMove a phishing attack, filled out a do not sell my information form, and reported their emails to ****** as phishing attacks, since they do literally meet the definition.The fact that this business is operating at all is incredible and a sign of degradation of morals. On August 6, 2025, while searching online for the official **** change-of-address form, I was misled by a website operated by "MyMove," which appeared to be an official **** website. The presentation and language used gave every impression that the site was part of the ****************************. As a reasonably savvy internet user, I was nonetheless unable to distinguish this site from the legitimate **** *********** a result of this deception, I submitted a change-of-address request and was charged $37.75 via credit card. Only after receiving a series of unsolicited commercial offers and advertisements did I become suspicious. I contacted **** directly and was informed that:**** is aware of these types of misleading websites;The official change-of-address fee is only $1.25; and MyMove is not affiliated with *****Upon attempting to contact MyMove to request a refund, I discovered that the company provides no accessible customer service phone number, email address, or functioning method for dispute resolution. This lack of transparency and inability to cancel or contest the charge is consistent with deceptive trade practices and could reasonably be construed as a fraudulent or extortionate scheme.If MyMove is not operating as a fraudulent enterprise, I hereby demand an immediate and full refund of $37.75 to the credit card used for this transaction. As you mentioned, the fee to do so is $1.25, not $37.75. ************************** does not charge for our services in fact, we do not ask for, or accept payment on our site. Unfortunately, there are several third-party sites that charge anywhere from $11 to $179 for packages advertised to include a change-of-address service. These third-party sites are not affiliated with **** nor **************************. We recommend working with your banking institution to try to identify the company that charged you. Charges from **** will appear as ***** CHANGE OF ADDRESS ************ TN" on your bank statement.

MYMOVE mascaras as **** and it cleverly submits payments with tags that obfuscate true sourced thevoarty charging.I called **** official 800 line and spoke to several **** **** and senior managers. **** charge is $1.25. **** strongly denies affiliation with MYMOVE. the charge we are disputing came from MYMOVE LLC.

On 7/14/2025 I went theought the process of change of address on **** website. At the end of the process was an extremely deceitful transfer from my private change of address to a 3rd party advertiser. The process was intentionally made to look like you were incomplete with your change of address and needed to continue on filling out personal details. While making a change of address requests through ********, ************************** is forced to be opted into under the guise of changing voter registration to the new address. This is predatory practices to sell your information to advertising agencies when you thing youre actually updating your voter registration. There is no way to then request to have your information removed, only and unsubscribe from emails, which is very frustrating as the last thing a moving individual wants its to be signed up for a bunch of mail advertisements they were tricked into providing information to just to change their voter registration. While trying to update my address with the ****, I was asked if I wanted to update my voter registration. I said yes, and was then led directly into a massive series of advertisements and offers for business and services I didnt want. I believe my move collected my information and is going to be selling it to these companies without my consent. I am rejecting this response because my complaint isn't simply, "It's hard to register to vote." My complaint is, "You used deceptive tactics to imply that MyMove was part of the **** change of address process, didn't ACTUALLY allow me to register to vote (that requires a number of different steps that MyMove, for what it's worth, can't actually complete on my behalf), and pushes me through countless promotions and registration flows, making it unclear what you're signing up for, what you HAVE already signed up for, and whether ot not there's any end in site. It's a junk mail and spam generation machine disguised as a voter registration/change of address portal. I don't know if it meets the legal definition of "fraud," but at the very least, it's deceptive, unethical, and difficult to unregister for. Whoever designed the ** of this flow should be, at the very least, ashamed of their work, and this company ought to be prevented from engaging in such shoddy, deceptive, slimy business practices in the future. Your company disappearing would be my desired resolution. Short that, any civil or criminal prosecutions allowed by law. Short that, a VERY CLEAR demarcation that you're leaving ****, that MyMove is NOTHING but a list curation and lead generation machine that's being sold to third-party vendors, and very clear indications of what you HAVE signed up for, what you HAVE NOT, and when the endless flow of ******** promotions might end.
This is the kind of DISGUSTING behavior that fleeces the elderly and vulnerable, and you do it because you're too lazy to find an honest way to make a buck. I hope you, whoever's reading this, feel bad. I hope your colleagues feel bad. I hope your CEO feels bad. You're making the world a worse place, and you're providing cover for this. I was changing my forwarding address with the official **** website and they offered additional services. I was asked to check one of three boxes with other services I wanted. The one I was interested in was changing my voter registration, so I checked only that one box. I was then forwarded to ************************** where I was forced to accept subscribing to a businesses advertisements to continue. Then I was forced to view home internet plans which were labeled as car insurance. Eventually after scouring their website I could not find any mention of voter registration services and my email has since been constantly bombarded with spam emails. I am rejecting this response because: This process is incredibly unclear. The necessary forms are emailed to me at the beginning of the process regardless of whether I proceed to your website. Nowhere on your website is this indicated and I was led to believe that I had to proceed through this process to receive aid. Regardless, the "service" of sending me a form and telling me to do it myself with little to no instructions is less than useless. It's surprised that **** would "partner" with such a dubious website for voter registration after submitting change of address.The first thing mymove does is coerce users into selecting promotional offers. You are given two options a "Continue and select all offers" button or a greyed out "Continue with selected offers" link that is only enabled if you select one or more promotions.**** should reevaluate this partnership because when one is redirected to a shady website with blatant coercion for marketing/promotional deals, it makes me question the integrity of *****If the service being offered is voter registration then that should be the focus, not forcing users to engage with promotional deals they have no interest in. The site should serve its advertised purpose or make it clear that they are there to drive marketing for moving services and sell user data - and such a site should NOT be "partnering" with a legitimate service like ****.Business Response
