On Jan 4th 2025 a deposit of $250 was required and paid at time of car rental. Vehicle was returned in the same excellent conditions it was handed over to me, the customer. I have yet to receive my money back, they do not handle these requests over the phone and I have already taken time out of work to deal with this (supposedly the reimbursement associates only work Mon- Fri 8am - 3pm) and cannot take additional time off. On 1/09/25, I rented a car from the ************ location of NextCar Rental. On 01/09/25, at 5:50am the vehicle was returned in pristine condition, with more gas than when we picked it up. Per the NextCar contract, I was due to be refunded a $250 deposit. The contract states it will be refunded upon return of the vehicle but may take 14 days for my credit card to post the refund.After 15 business days, I reached out to the rental location. I was told to wait 3 more days. I called again after those 3 days and was asked to wait another 5 days. After those 5 days, I called again and was hung up on. Every time I called they stated I was due the refund, but they were just behind in processing refunds.On 2/4/25, I reached out to corporate NextCar They attempted to reach out to the ************ location. On 2/12/25, I again reached out to corporate. They again reached out to ************, copying me on the ************, 02/25/25, I again reached out to corporate. They confirm I am owed the $250 refund from ************, but state all they can do is continue to email the independent location. They have had no response from the location either at this point. I have disputed my charge with my credit card company. Based on other items I see on line I do not think I am the only consumer dealing with this issue.Initial Complaint

I rented a vehicle through the Priceline website, which connected me with a third-party rental company in *********** called Nextcar. Upon collecting the vehicle on November 6, 2024, I was asked for a deposit. I provided my bank card for the to collect the deposit, as I was informed that the deposit would be refunded to my card.I returned the vehicle on November 10, 2024, at 6:35 AM due to an early flight. The person processing the return advised me that everything was in order and that a refund of $250.00 USD would be returned to my bank card. I was told that I would receive the close contract of the rental via email, but I did not receive any paperwork at that time.After several days without receiving the refund, I contacted the rental company. They stated that the refund had been processed back to my bank and that I needed to speak with them. My bank opened a claim, but it was closed because the rental company categorized the refund as cash. However, no cash was given to me at the time of the refund, as all transactions were made using my card. I requested copy of the closing contract from the rental company when I was asking for help from my bank and the person put the refund as cash but there was never any type of cash transaction as I mentioned before.I have tried to reach the rental company again, but they are not returning my calls or answering. I have been advised that this is a type of scam that rental companies are perpetrating in ***********.Initial Complaint

I rented a car 01/02/2025 from this location of Priceless Car rental and returned it to the same location 01/14/2025. Mu contract shows that I am due a refund of my deposit of $250. I have not received my refund and have attempted to contact the location. Calls are not answered, or they pick up the phone and hang up. The number for the location in ************ is **************. I have contacted another number for Priceless car rental, which is ************** and spoken to a representative on 2 different occasions. They have emailed the location requesting a refund which I have not received. I feel that 3 weeks is an adequate time for this to be processed. I would like assistance to get my refund credited back to my credit card.Customer Answer

On ***** Dec 2024, I rented a car from next car and paid a total amount of $437.93 which included $187.93 for the rental car and $250.00 for the deposit that was supposed to be refunded in 15 business days. I have never received my $250.00 though I have a receipt that shows otherwise. I have called this business at least 6 times in hopes to get my refund and they keep telling me the claim is being processed but they cannot provide me a phone number to their claims department, they cannot provide me a claims number, and I am unable to speak to a manager. As I look at their customer service page it shows how they have multiple customers complaining about the same thing as me. Those customers have yet to receive a refund.Initial Complaint

I recently rented a car via Expedia from 12/24-12/31. When we arrived 12/24 we were told there was no cars and no apologies. We were told if we were not happy with their service there is nothing they can do. We waited over 4 hrs before we got a car! On 12/31 when we were about to return the car. We got an email from the ****** host saying the car tire was stolen. We called the police filed a report and I went to the rental car to advise of the issue On entry I was told not to worry I had paid for tire, windshield and roadside assistance with towing and I should just call the number for pick up.I did immediately and the towing company came installed the replacement , picked it up and dropped it off at the car rental place .I asked to fill the car with gas quickly and I was told not to worry to go in and they will be with me shortly. I got feedback from the attendant saying he was not going to give me my 250 security deposit back Becos the rim was stolen with the tire. That is it was only the tire they would have refunded me!I was arguing that you cant steal a tire without a rim and then he called the manager.I had the same argument with the manager who threatened to call the police on me for no reason!I said I wanted to see the insurance policy not covering theft and then she said she willl call the adjuster. The Adjuster came in -***** and threatened me and said he will sue meHe told me they had my address and would deal with me..I left afraid! 5 mins later, they tried to charge my primary card on file and it didnt go through but went ahead to charge a ******* secondary card which was suppose to be destroyed as I didnt use it for rental payment!When I found out I came back to confront them but I was met with a long wait and they refused to talk to me and cooperate.They threatened me again!When I asked why the charge they refused to give feedback. My rental was supposed to had been 9/28/2024 (1:30am) to 9/30/2024(1:30am)Me and my family arrived at the Next Car location around 1:30am or so and we had originally reserved a Jeep and come to find out the Jeep they were going to provide us, they couldnt find the keys and then that same Jeep was not there Jeep to begin with.Its already 2am, were tiered and just want to make it home and the front desk clerk offers another vehicle in place of the Jeep and I said sure anything works at this point in the early morning.We finally get the car around 2:30am and leave. Not even ************************************************************************************* them with us. (Very funky smell) but its late and kids need to sleep. Now about 30 min into our drive, here comes NEXTCAR little creatures (roaches) and at that point Im very upset because that is disgusting! But have no choice but to continue home. We went to sleep and woke up the a few hours later and drove to **** and I picked up another car and proceeded to return this rental back to its nest(NextCar). We only lasted with the car approximately 10hours if that and 6-7 of those hours (3-10am) we were sleeping.While at Next car, I asked at the counter to speak to a supervisor / manager and they told me his name was ******* and I explained it to him and he stated that he would take care of it and issue a full refund, because of this situation come Monday and not to worry because I was getting a full refund. He was very courteous and understanding and quickly offered another car but I mentioned to him that I had already picked up one at **** rental. Now, my credit card was charged $369.00 by NEXTCAR and I haven't received any refund and futher more the deposit is included in that amount. Its outrageous!!!I proceded to send multiple emails until I finally got a hold of a manager who was and is helpful (Ms ****** but she referred me to *** ******* who is the site manger and he has not refunded my money.Customer Answer

Attached is a screenshot of the last email I received after I mentioned I was going to file a complaint with the BBB.
MS ***** has been spot on with her responses and is the only one concerned about this situation.
The real issues falls on Mr ******* (manager) who barely responds to my emails and lacks on communicating. Ive spoken with him on the phone 2-3 times and he has excuses ready to go when Ive asked about my case.

I reserved a car rental using a third party called Priceline, I paid $255.63 plus $91 for collision total cost of $346.63. But ********* offers there own collision insurance so they only took the $255.63. Once I got to the Next Car rental place I had additional services added such as ezpass access and there own car insurance came out for a total of $597.31 Plus an additional of an $250 deposit which i haven't received. I booked a reservation with NextCar rental cars through ****** (a third party booking agency) for our trip to **. When booking, we declined rental car insurance, as our personal car insurance covers rentals. I selected a car pickup time of 4-6PM, as our flight was originally meant to land at 430P. Our flight to ******* was delayed 1.5 hours (we were sitting on the tarmac as they did maintenance to the plane). Upon arrival at 5:45P, I called the Nextcar representative , *****, and he picked us up in the shuttle and drove us to the office location. Once at the office, ***** stated he needed to charge us another $150, for insurance. We stated we did not need or want it as our personal insurance already covers rentals. ***** was then saying the charge was because ****** cancelled our reservation since we were late for pick up- even though he picked us up right before 6P. I knew that was false because ****** would have no way to know that our flight was delayed. I proceeded to call ****** on speaker phone for ***** to hear when they clarified that they indeed did not cancel our reservation. ***** continued to say that ****** was not releasing the money to him, which was also disproven by the ****** representative who said as soon as we book, the money is released to Nextcar. We felt we were being scammed for more money, as he wouldnt provide us with a car until we paid him an extra $150 after already paying $250 to ****** for the reservation. We decided to leave, stranded in the ******* heat with our baggage and infant with no vehicle. I later called NextCar to sort this out and the woman on the phone was extremely rude upon hearing my explanation, and proceeded to hang up on me. Before hanging up, she said that the extra charge was for an upgrade because they gave the car that I booked away since we were late, which made no sense since we werent late, and we were told two other reasons to be charged- 1. for insurance and 2. Because ****** canceled the reservation.
