In the week of January 6, 2025 there was a light snow event (1.5 inches of Snow) our trash and recycling dates were pushed back from the 10th until the 11th. Whitetail failed to pick up the recycling. I called Whitetail on Monday January 13th and was told it would be picked up later in the day, it was never picked up. I called back later that day around 3:45pm and I was told they would pick it up Tuesday morning. Tuesday never picked up again, I was told they checked with dispatching and it definitely be pick later that day on ********** now its Wednesday never picked up. Not only did they not pick up my recycling, they didnt pick up quite a few (***** or more) neighbors recycling bins in my development.They are new to the Lititz/********* area and pushed hard last summer to sign up many households in my development saying that their service is better, cheaper and much better than Goods Disposal.They changed companies from Whitetail to ******* and that the service was changed from Wednesday to Friday. They changed the phone number and ******* has no website.I must take quite amount of blame.I didnt research Whitetail and I went with the companies sales person.I was perfectly happy with Goods for 22 years and to save a couple dollars a quarter I went with a company that has a terrible yelp rating, not listed with the BBB and terrible reviews of services through out the Web. Our trash service day through you is now Friday (our service day was originally Tuesday). I understand that due to some weather storm forecasted back on Monday, January 6, you were operating on a one-day delay this past week, and our Friday trash pick-up services were to be completed on Saturday. Accordingly, our filled trash basket has been curbside since that time. However, my trash was never picked up by you. This is not the first time this has happened. I have had several issues in the past with Whitetail failing to pick up my trash as contracted. Each of these past two (2) occurrences have been relatively reasonably resolved following repeated phone calls by me. These are repeated phone calls which should not have had to ********* that as it may, I know from experience that if I call in, I am going to be told that a truck can be out within forty-eight hours. That is two (2) more days. This is unacceptable. You are already three (3) days late from what was supposed to be a Friday morning trash pick up. If you try to ask me to wait another two (2) days, that would put you at five (5) days late. The reason that this would be unacceptable is that I pay for and am contracted with you for once a week trash pick up, not once every twelve days. My bills to you have always been paid timely. Should you refuse to pick up my trash on Monday, not only will you be in breach of our contract but any $75 cancellation fee to which you may believe you are entitled would be inapplicable and uncollectable by you.That said, I need you to pick up the trash (which you were supposed to pick up on Friday) no later than Monday afternoon. That is my specific request. Should you fail to do, I shall be free to terminate my services with you without being liable for any early termination fee due to your breach of our contract. We used to have whitetail at our first store location and had signed a contract for only a year. We then called them months out and scheduled to move our dumpster when our store moved. They never showed up on our agreed upon day and didn't answer the phone for weeks, when we finally got a hold of somebody it was a day before our grand opening and we had to tell them that we unfortunately had to get another dumpster company as we had to get rid of the parking lot of trash. They agreeded, apologized and said they would take care of the rest. Fast forward to the months ahead, I was still getting bills for trash pick up service. Called and said that we don't have this service anymore and they shouldn't be sending a bill. Manager apologized and said they would take care of it. Now 2 years later, I get a call from a law office saying that they want to take me to court for the money owed when we didn't have the service all these years. They refused to give me any proof and the paralegal was the rudest person I have ever spoken to telling me she isn't interested in hearing me speak. I am not willing to pay for a service that I didn't have and was supossed to resolved years ago.Business Response

Contacted Whitetail Disposal back in May 2024 to let them know about our home sale and that we would no longer need their services. The woman (billing) with whitetail stated that we were paid up til the end of June and that she would call us closer to the end of June to cancel and schedule trash can pickup. She did call as she said she would and we had our realtor set the cans at the end of the driveway for pickup. The cans were sitting there waiting for pickup for over three weeks ( the neighbors can verify) and because no one came to pick them up at an adequate amount of time, the new owners have moved them. Whitetail has never reached out to me about the issue but sends a bill to collections ( that I had no idea about) saying that I have to pay for new garbage cans because they couldnt get the cans. How is this our fault? Sounds kind of ridiculous. Their workers drove by those cans every week for three weeks picking up our neighbors garbage and never thought that maybe these need to be picked up. I know this isnt rocket science but how can they charge me and try to ruin my credit when this is something that was definitely of their neglect? My wife or I have received nothing from them stating anything, all our mail has been coming in seamlessly for everything else we have but nothing from whitetail. No emails, no phone calls or mail. White Tail disposal has continued to miss pick-*** and leave our gates unlocked to a secure location. We have provided all the video proof and they have admitted to the errors.Last instance, trash was missed on 8/30, they lied and provided a time. They admitted they didn't. As part of the service agreement, it is the customer's responsibility to report any service issues with 24 hours of the scheduled collection. This includes any concerns with a missed collection, failure to fully complete the service or any other concerns the customer may have. Unfortunately no notification of the potential missed collection on 8/30 was reported until after the service and cleanup had been completed on Friday 9/6. Additionally we have not received any concerns regarding the driver not re-locking the gates within the past year. On June 25 a door to door Whitetail salesman convinced my wife and I to switch our trash service to Whitetail Disposal. The charge would be $87 per quarter with this service. Since we had already paid for trash service through the end of September with our current disposal company, the trash service with Whitetail was scheduled to start October 1st. We paid $87 with a charge card on June 25th, We were told we could cancel within 3 days without a charge. However we were told if we cancelled after that but less than 18 months after our service started, we would be charged to return the two Whitetail trash and recycling containers at a rate of $50 per container. I received an email from them with this information, In the first two weeks of July my wife and I decided we have had good service from our current trash hauler and decided to stay with them. We had not received the two containers from Whitetail yet. So I called them to cancel the service, They said they would cancel it but would charge us $75 to do so, They said I would receive a refund for the difference, I told them to cancel it but I would re-read my contract to see if it states that there would be a $75 fee to cancel it. After re-reading the contract, I called them back and stated it does not say anything about a $75 cancellation fee, only about the fee for picking up the containers. I asked to speak with the account representative's supervisor. She said she was very busy and could not talk with me. She would have her call me. I waited a week and she did not call me. So I called again asking to speak with her (**** was her name). I was told she was not available and would call me back. When I asked to speak with ****** supervisor, I was told they did not have a phone number for her supervisor. But they emailed **** to ask her to call me back. She still has never called me. A sales guy showed up at my house while I was waiting for an AC guy to come at the exact same time so I felt under pressure to keep it moving. He basically had me signed up before I could even consider if I wanted to or not. I had asked if maybe he could come back later or I could call in and sign up and he said the price was only good if i signed up with him right now. He forgot to mention all the hidden fee's. I told him I would sign up but didn't really have time to look into them at the moment and asked if I could cancel when I did get a chance to look into them if I didn't like what I saw. NOTE: I already paid my trash company through December so I figured I had months to do this. He said that was fine. He did insist on the first quarters payment which I post dated for August. With August coming up I decided to look into them and it was not good... their reputation is terrible. I figured great now call in and cancel before they cash the check. Well apparently I only had 3 days to cancel after signing up. So now they will only refund me a small portion of the check as a cancellation fee even though my service wasn't to start until January. I hung up defeated, but the girl said she would talk to her manager and see if they would want to do a full refund, so called back later. Now they are stating that they aren't accepting any cancelations at all and say we HAVE to try them out first before canceling. They can't force me to use their service... And no where did I sign anything stating such. Apparently they feel like they can and insist they will refund me in MARCH 2025 if don't like their service. They forgot to mention they have a $50 pick up fee for their cans, so my "full refund" would actually be $40, so yet another lie. I honestly was going to give them a chance if my neighbors liked it, but now I absolutely don't trust them.Business Response

At the time of the signup, Whitetail Disposal's sales team does their very best to provide all information regarding the service, start date, fees, and other information. Additionally, a follow-up email is sent within 24 hours to the email address provided at the time of signup, confirming the signup information and detailing start date, cancellation requirements, any potential fees or other charges that may be applicable. Also provided is the contact information, website, and a few other helpful pieces of information. In researching this account, the confirmation email was sent on June 8th, 2024. The cancellation window detailed in the email had expired and no communication was received for 2 months. As the account has, at this time, been set up and costs have been incurred, we are unable to cancel and provide a refund as requested. Our team did offer a trial period of 1 quarter, which at the end of that quarter if you were unhappy with the level of service provided, the cancellation fees could be waived. If the services were cancelled at the time, cancellation fees would need to be charged.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:The email did not contain any such information. I never received a copy of the contact I’ve signed even though I’ve requested it, however the salesman did say I could take time to look into whitetail since I was rushed and could always cancel since I wasn’t even starting service until January. Attached is the so called email that explains the cancelation process which is absolutely does not. Also your saying here I can cancel with penalties but on the phone I was told it wasn’t an option and i HAD to give you a try first and that you were not accepting my cancellation. This is no way to do business, and a cancelation fee for someone who signed up 6 months in advances is insane.

A representative from this company met my husband on a Sunday afternoon. Somehow he convinced my husband to give him a credit card and maybe sign up for an account. He claimed that they recycle more than our current provider, which is not true. When we tried to cancel weeks before the first pick up, we were told there would be a $75 dollar fee and that I had signed the agreement. I did not sign the agreement, I never spoke to the person. As part of the signup process, email confirmation of the signup was sent to the email address listed in the contact information. This email was re-sent to confirm all information. Within this email, information was provided confirming the signup information, start date, equipment information and information on how to cancel if so desired. If a customer changed their mind after signup, there is a specific window in which to cancel to receive a full refund. After that time frame, cancellation fees may be applied. I am rejecting this response because: the document they included is a forgery. I never signed anything nor did my husband. I would happily provide a copy of my signature to the BBB to verify that what they sent looks nothing like what their document that they say has my signature on it is. Someone from their company wrote in my name, which is quite easy to do of course. The document also has nothing about how much they are refunding or initially charged. It is a fraud and I want to warn others.

For over the past month Whitetail disposal has missed three Friday pickups without picking up with a recovering truck on Mondays. They only credited me once. I have been calling And emailing I even gave them a one star review on ******* I do not appreciate being lied to by telling me My containers were not put out by the end of my driveway. I will be surprised if they pick up Tomorrow The 24th. At this point I believe the credits are useless they have raised the bill from ***** per quarter to ****** which is due May 30th for **** July and August. The way this is looking to me is I'll be owed one month of trash pickup that I already paid for and they did not supply. So far the recycling pickup has been good I have very little and the average pickup is 3 weeks for that. My neighbors across the street from me have DelGuerico's and ***** disposal they don't have a problem, I understand that there is road construction after my driveway but this is getting ridiculous. Whitetail Disposal does our best to ensure customers are serviced in a timely fashion. Starting 3/22/2024, our drivers have reported road closures and have been attempting to service around the roadwork. Our customer service team has also left messages with the number on file for the customer to stay in communication. Our team is currently monitoring the trash service moving forward to ensure that the pickups are completed (as possible by road construction) and our customer service team will continue to remain in communication with the customer regarding these concerns. Since February 2024 my trash has been picked up only a few times as scheduled. Cans weren't delivered prior to service start as promised. After cans were delivered, trash wasn't picked up for another couple weeks. ******** request for return pick up as I was told they were always in route yet never came. Service day was then changed without notification; no text, call, voicemail, email, letter. This was escalated to supervisor, *****. Service is still unreliable and inconsistent. ***** agreed to cancellation and refund for future service already paid for due to circumstances. 4/15 ***** informed going forward with cancellation and refund & that cans to be picked up on Monday 4/22; she would call me back to verify pickup date. I called in Friday 4/19 due to no call back (per usual). Agent didn't see anything in account notes about ********************* & said to wait to speak to ***** since she is working with me on this & is the supervisor who addresses refunds. On 4/22 ***** informs me the "cans are scheduled for pick up today" & that my refund was initiated "2 weeks ago" so "it should be coming shortly." I was informed to speak with **** going forward about refund & can pick up. I spoke with **** as cans weren't picked up & he told me request for cancellation was made that day, 4/22. He informed that he doesn't work with refunds & doesn't know that I will even be refunded. I didn't even put my trash cans out last Friday 4/19 as ***** confirmed cancellation on 4/15 and I was told cans were to be picked up 4/22. I feel defeated, frustrated, and that I am being manipulated at this point. I want to be refunded for service not used from date of 4/15 as promised & be done with my dealings with Whitetail Disposal. Since February, I have spoken with Whitetail Disposal on 12 different days with multiple communications in a day at times. I am asking for assistance as my efforts for resolution are being dismissed. Whitetail Disposal does our best to resolve any and all customer concerns in a timely fashion. Unfortunately, due to the circumstances of the notice for delivery after the move, it did take extra time to have the equipment scheduled for delivery. After speaking with the team, the refund was approved and issued; it can take a minimum of 7 business days for that refund to be processed on the bank's end. This is dependent on bank policies.
