I received a letter from AMERICAN NATIONAL RECOVERY GROUP INC for the date of 02/08/2023. The letter claims that I owe vehicle tax on a vehicle I have owned in many years. When I resided in Groton CT I filed and paid my taxes on time. I paid all the vehicle tax when I purchased this vehicle. Also, me and my wife moved away Groton, CT in 2011 to Las Vegas, NV during tax season we presented all of our documents from Connecticut and Nevada to our tax preparer. We filed and paid our taxes. I contacted the town of Groton and they said there was no tax bill especially since I was no longer a resident of Connecticut and that vehicle was transferred to Nevada. I brought a new vehicle in Nevada and that vehicle from CT was fully paid for and used as a trade in. I was officially a resident of Nevada in 2012. I have worked in Nevada and lived in the state of Nevada since 2011, and have all of my tax documents from the last 20 years. They are requesting taxes for a vehicle I haven't owned since 2012. Please stop all contact and trying to collect taxes that I don't owe. I moved in 2011 and I became a resident of Nevada in 2012 and no longer owned the vehicle, yet they are trying to collect taxes from July of 2012 and July 2013.

    To Whom It May Concern,
We have received *** *******'s correspondence concerning the Town of Groton. As per his request our office will dispute the bills out and he will no longer receive letters concerning this. He is advised to contact the Town of Groton Assessor's office as the bills will remain on the tax rolls for the Town of Groton for 15 years from the due date of the bill(s) as per the Connecticut General Statutes unless documentation is provided that he was registered and residing in Nevada.
Copies of the bills have been included with this letter.
The account(s) will be disputed with our office
If you have any questions or concerns, please let our office know.

Received very bogus shake down letter claiming that I owe for a car I bought while stationed in Groton while serving in the Navy. When I purchased the car, it was paid and registered for 3 years; included in the price to buy. So even if I was a resident, which I wasn't, the car wouldn't have taxes until well after I moved out of the state. They have taxes claimed for 2015; when I was living in Washington and not Connecticut, since 2014. The complaints here clearly show them going after military personnel, knowing full well we are exempt. Attached the "Final Notice" packaged letter I received, even though this is the only time I've been made aware of this. Account number *****************

    To Whom It May Concern,

The bills that *** ********* is receiving are from the Town of Groton and City of New London. The tax collector’s offices are still showing these bills as outstanding. Motor Vehicle Taxes are based on the vehicle registration and charged per year on the registration being valid. Because *** ********* is Military Personnel, he can apply to have the bills removed as per the Military Exemption. He would then need to contact the Assessor’s office for each town or city for the Soldier’s and Sailor’s Affidavit for Exemption.

Copies of the bills have been included with this letter.

The account(s) will be disputed with our office

If you have any questions or concerns, please let our office know.

This company is relentlessly harassing me regarding taxes owed in the state off Connecticut despite never being a resident there. I was serving in the military while being stationed in the state from 2006 through 2010. This company needs to clear my file and remove the debt owed immediately.

    To Whom It May Concern,
    Thank you
for your correspondence concerning the City of New London. The accounts have been placed here have been put on hold for Military Exemption. *** ****** is advised to contact the Tax Assessor of the City of New London to have the bills re-assessed for Military Exemption as he will need to fill out the Soldier's and Sailor's Affidavit that the Assessor will keep on file.
