Last week, I received a mail from this company claiming I owe $400.75 taxes for a vehicle. The tax they claimed we own is of 2022 for ********** CT, But we moved out of that county in 2017. And the vehicle listed on the colllection letter was bought in 2021, 4 years after we moved out of **********, CT. So it is impossible that we own the claimed tax . Remove this collection immediately.

    To Whom It May Concern,

The DMV is reporting that the 2021 ***** ** was registered as of 06/17/2021 in **********. This is would be supplemental to the October 1st, 2020 to September 30th, 2021 Grand List Tax Year. The Tax payer will need to contact the Town of ********** Tax Assessor to provide documentation that the vehicle was not registered in Ridgefield to have the bill removed as per the Connecticut General Statutes.

While our office will mark the account as disputed, the bill will remain open on the tax rolls of the Town of ********** until either the 15year statute comes due or the matter is rectified.

*A copy of the bill has been included with this letter.

I have received a notice from the American National Recovery Group INC directing me to pay $865.02 for past due taxes in the state of Connecticut. I was never a resident in the state of Connecticut. However, I was stationed there in the military during 2017 through 2018. This company needs to remove this charge and clear ALL debts IMMEDIATELY. This is a scam.

Received a notice informing that they were "again" trying to amicably collect a $34 debt for the City of *** ****** regarding a vehicle I had while stationed there. I did not purchase this vehicle in connecticut as it was bought from a family member. It was initially registered in CT but then after I visited my home state of Texas, I had re-registered it there. I also went to the tax office with all SCRA paperwork and was granted an exemption from any and all state taxes regarding this vehicle. This "debt" is from 01JULY2020. The City of *** ****** and this company have had plenty of opportunity to contact me regarding this if it was a real issue. Instead, I receive my first indication that there "might" be a problem 3 years later and with a collections notice. No prior contact regarding this matter has been made. I've already filed all required paperwork over 3 years ago when I was originally stationed in CT. I have not been stationed in CT since 2021, and I have not lived in the City of *** ****** since 2017. I have also done the following: 1. Verified my information in the Check for Compliance Issues portion of the CT DMV website. 2. When I re-registered my vehicle in Texas, I cancelled my CT Plates and registration using the CT DMV website.

Please find below a copy of the email that was sent to Complaintee on 06/21/2023.

The City of *** ****** has sent the 2019-2020 Motor Vehicle Tax bill here as of March of 2023.  The letter you received would be the first letter that our company has sent on this matter.  It is a form letter sent to all delinquent Taxpayers.

If you have sent the Military Exemption forms to the City of *** ******, the bills have not been processed for exemption and removed at this time.

Please find a copy of the bills attached.

Our office will mark the bills as disputed and once the Assessor notifies out office, we will remove the bills based on Military Exemption.

It seems the Town Of *** ****** has resorted to extorting veterans. I purchased a vehicle while stationed in Groton Connecticut in 2010, now 12 years later I am being told I owe back taxes. I was never a resident, and in fact my state of record while living there was in Florida. The American National Recovery Group appears to prey on veterans, and now in their vaguely worded letter are threatening legal action to collect a tax I cannot possibly owe. The account number is ****-************. I filled out the required paperwork when purchasing my vehicle, including exemptions, I have not lived in Groton, CT since March of 2011, and my supposed due dates are after the car was no longer even mine. I would like bo further contact from these people.

I had received mail from American National Recovery Group *** in order for them to collect taxes for ******, **. I have not lived in ** since 2020 and had paid my taxes for said vehicle for the duration of my time in ******. The vehicle has not been in my possession as of November 2020. This is clearly a scam aimed towards those in the armed service. I have been living in **************** since then and have been paying the applicable taxes that I am not exempt from for the past three years.

Received a collection notice that is over a decade old from this collection company that is simply not correct and this company has been extremely threatening going as far to threaten legal action against me for $300. This company incorrectly states this bill is from 2012 from the town of Groton, CT. I only lived in Groton for less than 2 years between 2008-2010 while on active duty military orders. I never purchased a vehicle while in CT and all of my taxes were paid while I was stationed there. This debt is inaccurate and I request that this company to STOP contacting me immediately and to have this debt deleted. I demand to no longer be threatened by decades old INCORRECT debt while I was on active duty military service. If it continues I will report this unprofessional company to the ****.

This company contacted me with a letter claiming I owe $367.61 in back taxes for a vehicle I haven't owned for 9 1/2 years. They are requesting taxes from 2013/2014 in Groton CT I only lived there for 6 months in military barracks and owe no back taxes. I was serving in the military during that time. I owe nothing for 2013 or 2014 as I didn't reside in the state and claimed residency in New York. I have lived in California on Active Duty since November 2012. Remove this collection immediately. I received a letter from AMERICAN NATIONAL RECOVERY GROUP INC for the date of 02/08/2023. The letter claims that I owe vehicle tax on a vehicle I have owned in many years. When I resided in Groton CT I filed and paid my taxes on time. I paid all the vehicle tax when I purchased this vehicle. Also, me and my wife moved away Groton, CT in 2011 to Las Vegas, NV during tax season we presented all of our documents from Connecticut and Nevada to our tax preparer. We filed and paid our taxes. I contacted the town of Groton and they said there was no tax bill especially since I was no longer a resident of Connecticut and that vehicle was transferred to Nevada. I brought a new vehicle in Nevada and that vehicle from CT was fully paid for and used as a trade in. I was officially a resident of Nevada in 2012. I have worked in Nevada and lived in the state of Nevada since 2011, and have all of my tax documents from the last 20 years. They are requesting taxes for a vehicle I haven't owned since 2012. Please stop all contact and trying to collect taxes that I don't owe. I moved in 2011 and I became a resident of Nevada in 2012 and no longer owned the vehicle, yet they are trying to collect taxes from July of 2012 and July 2013.
