            On May 9, 2016, the BBB wrote this company regarding a pattern identified in the consumer complaints alleging complainants received a security warning on their PC which stated that their computer was infected with a virus, and to call the toll free number to speak with someone immediately. According to the complainants when they contacted the firm the sales representatives verbally misrepresented and mislead them during the initial call and claimed to be from Microsoft or Apple tech support when that was not the case. The complainants further allege the representative gained remote access to their computer, claimed the files were infected and sold them services they did not need.

            In our May 9, 2016 correspondence the BBB requested information from the company regarding certain company policies, its sales representatives' practices, promotional literature, return/refund policies, a description of how it generates customers and the like. The company failed to respond to the BBB inquiry and did not submit the requested information. Without this information, the Bureau may not have current information concerning such things as the company's management or its nature of business.

            • Do not download software from unknown sources or “click” open links, attachments, or images in unsolicited emails, text messages, or pop ups.

            • Proceed with caution if you receive a random tech support pop-up alert/warning asking you to call a number to fix your computer. 

            • Never give an unknown party remote access to your device.

            • Don't be pressured into buying a computer security product that may be worthless or available elsewhere for free.

            • Do not download software from unknown sources as it could be malware — software designed to access your computer and your personal information.

            • Never give your passwords on the phone.

            • Never provide your credit card or financial information to people or businesses you don’t know.

            • If you need help with your computer, call the manufacturer or software company directly and ask for help.
