I had Power Home Remodeling replace a bay window with a flat panel window. By the time they finished the work, it was night time and I could not see the work done. I signed off on the work. The next day, I inspected the work and saw big gaps in the patches they put in to cover up where the bay window bowed out. The patch and the work look very unprofessional (see pictures) and the gaps can allow in rain or insects that will damage the wood of the *****. For this installation to look professional, I believe that the soffit panels need to be replaced so that the new ones come right up to the window like they did with the original bay window. I have contacted customer service 3 times regarding this issue and the last time I was told that this type of patching is what they do in these circumstances.Business Response

Good morning,
Thank you for taking the time to contact us about your remodeling experience. We take feedback from homeowners like you very seriously. I apologize for any frustration or aggravation this issue may have caused. I have reviewed your complaint and personally looked into the matter.
Power was contracted to replace the bow window with three replacement windows that no longer project out from the opening in the home. This means that any trim work that was modified when the pre-existing bow window was installed, or any trim work that was installed to the bow window while it was installed, is still present. Power covered the opening in the existing trim work and finished that opening off with J-channel and the window installation is complete. Power was not contracted to do the soffit or fascia work and therefore the soffit and fascia is not being replaced.
Thank you,

I am rejecting this response because:I reject the explanation given by Power Home Remodeling that they will not repair the window installation patch with soffits because I did not contract them to replace soffits. I am not asking them to replace the entire house. Just the are above the bay window they replaced. No one would expect to put in a new window and end up with work that looks much worse that the original and that could cause issues in the future. I have attached pictures of the original window and all I am looking for is that the top on the new window look as good.

Good morning,
The soffit Power sells and installs does not match, nor will install to, the existing soffit on the home. The existing soffit would have to be removed and replaced entirely in order to properly repair the opening left from the bay window that occupied that space previously. This was not work that Power was contracted to do and therefore Power has not performed the work. If you wish to have the soffit and other trim work replaced on the home, please out to Power directly and a representative would be happy to schedule an estimate appointment to have the work quoted for you.
Thank you,

I am rejecting this response because:Had I been informed about the mismatched soffits and the subsequent need for a comprehensive replacement, my decision to replace the window would have been different. Its disheartening that this critical detail was withheld, leading to an unfavorable outcome.
As a discerning customer, I rightfully expect professionalism, honesty, and integrity from service providers. Concealing essential facts undermines trust and tarnishes the reputation of any business.

Good morning,
We apologize that Power will not be able to assist in finishing a portion of the home that was not installed with Powers product, however the project Power was contracted to complete was done so as agreed upon and was done so correctly. Any finishing work to the interior or exterior of the windows outside of the scope of the work that Power provides is always the responsibility of the homeowner.

Thank you for taking the time to contact us about your remodeling experience. We take feedback from homeowners like you very seriously. I apologize for any frustration or aggravation this issue may have caused. I have reviewed your complaint and personally looked into the matter.
The replacement window sash order for your home was placed with our manufacturer and we are still waiting for the order to be completed and delivered. Unfortunately, because of raw material shortages, labor shortages and logistical constraints that both our manufacturer and their suppliers are experiencing, lead times on manufactured parts have extended beyond what we are typically accustom to. Furthermore, these lead times are rarely consistent and can make predicting completion dates for a particular order very difficult. It is for these reasons that the order for the replacement sashes is taking so long to arrive at our local installation office in ************* While we continue to work diligently with all of our manufacturing partners to reduce lead times on manufactured goods as much as possible, we must in the meantime follow the current best guidance that Power is provided on expected lead times.
At the present time your order is scheduled to be delivered to our local office in ************ later this summer. As soon as your order is delivered, a Power representative will be in touch with you to schedule the replacement. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause and we appreciate your patience while we work to resolve the issue with the windows in your home.

I am rejecting this response because the response is again the generic response that they are telling everyone EXCEPT new customers. We have a neighbor who recently worked with them (before they realized how terrible of a company that they are) and were able to get their windows ordered, delivered and installed in under 2 months. However customers that are waiting for replacements for over a year and half are being told "later this summer" due to manufacturing issues. How is it that these "manufacturing delays" are only affecting customers waiting on replacement ********************** but new customers are not affecting by these delays and are able to get windows in weeks?? Good morning,
Power is partnered with more than one window manufacturer and depending on your location and when you purchased your window project from Power you may have a different window installed in your home than your neighbor. Each of Powers window manufacturers provide product warranties for their own windows and only their own windows. Additionally, each of Power's window manufacturers have difference facilities, different manufacturing lead times, and may or may not be experiencing delays based on volume, staffing or any number of other reasons. That is why one Power customer, regardless of when they purchased their project, may experience a different lead time on service parts than another.

I am rejecting this response because: we are still waiting over a year and a half to get the windows replaced. We can't even see out our current front window because of the poor quality. If you are able to get new customers their ********************** (in a short time span) then it should not take this long for the company to replace a window of poor quality that they installed - regardless of where the window is being made. If Power Windows is guaranteeing the windows, it should not take this long- it is false advertising. They promised replacement windows if there was ever an issue. Well there is an issue and has been for awhile and they are not fixing it. Current customers should be prioritized when the quality of the window installed is subpar. Maybe it's time to have some of the facilities fulfilling new customer orders take care of those of us that have been waiting over a year to see out of our window! In addition, we have tried to call and the only number available is a generic customer service number that has no information. Even the person responding to this BBB complaint hasn't reached out to us and they do not provide their contact information. The products are not quality and the guarantee to replace/fix is not legitimate- we still have no time line or idea when or if the window will ever be replaced.

Good morning,
As was outlined previously, Powers manufacturing partners process, build and deliver all new and service product orders in the order in which they were placed and all manufacturing lead times are outside of Powers control. When an order is scheduled to be completed and delivered, Power is notified and Power representatives reach out to those homeowners to schedule services to install the replacement parts. If Power representatives have not contacted you to schedule the replacement service yet then Power has not received a definitive completion date for your order from the manufacturer. As soon as it is determined when your order will be delivered to Power's local installation office a representative will be in contact with you. Until that time, no new information is available.

Merchant replaced all windows on main and second floor and three basement windows. Installers did significant damage to the siding, including destroying virtually all of the house's J channels and making deep cuts through several pieces of siding. Quality assurance guy came at 9 a.m. the morning after they finished, looked at everything outside on his own and never said a word about the damage (other than to provide me a low interest quote on all-new siding if I signed the deal that day). As a result, the house exterior is no longer sealed from the elements. The merchant admitted fault (I've spoken with them three times), but have taken no steps to fix the problem. The attached pictures illustrate what the opposite of "workmanlike" is. Rather than replace the J channels they broke, they attempted to glue them back together. I am embarrassed for them. This is the last opportunity they will get to fix the damage they caused. If they still won't do it, I'll hire someone else to do it and become more vocal about their "quality." Needless to say, much of their sales presentation focused on how customer-service-driven they are. I spent almost $24,000 for this mess.Business Response

I appreciate your help with this matter. This is what I request from Power Windows, if they refused to replace my glass window, I request servel times for them to give there reason in writhing (I was ignored), so I can show to my insuance company that they refused to pay and the reason why. Now I can go back to my insuance company to request them to add this to my claim. Due to how I was treated by Power Windows a power house company, I request for my complaint to stay in place after spending thousands of dollars buying their porduct I would like to keed my complaint on file about this company for buyer beware. The first information I rececived from Power is that they would only pay to replace the window if it was the material, you can clearly see it sarted to crack from the edge. Power also denied receiving the first picture and they never let me know that they didn't receive the first attactment, running from the truth and there coustomer service was also very bad, it was unprofessional. They are worried about their image about ther product. Very bad bussiness

Power has offered you $500 to put towards having a painter re-finish the scratched side door. This amount is more than sufficient to cover the cost of re-finishing the door. Power has also offered to replace the side door entirely, which is an offer you have declined, which leaves the reimbursement to have it re-finished the only viable option. The manufacturer of the door in your home is no longer in business and the entry door is no longer covered under the manufacturers product warranty. Door to door sales for siding. Power home sales rep stated siding was looking bad and I accepted and started work. March 29th 2023 finished April 11, 2023. The day the job complete was signed it was cold and windy so a walk through was not done until the next day by myself no rep came to check. When walking around I noticed multiple imperfections of work. I contacted the company multiple times and they come out and state that that's how the work is supposed to be and there is nothing wrong with the job. There is various gaps in corners where siding was previously placed and now pushed in. Gaps where water and bugs will get in. Wavness to parts of siding. Caulking work is very sloppy and not even complete on parts of the windows. Worker cut a spot that was off by measurment by meter and i mentioned the mistake and his words "who's going to see it down." I have complained to this company and people come out a month later and think I am crazy and refuse to fix the job. There customer bill of rights that states that there is a lifetime guarantee (if there is a mistake we will be there to make it right) they are not upholding that statement. I spent so much money for the job to be done poorly and to be treated the way they have. I have various pictures of the work and the problems.Business Response

Good morning,
Thank you for taking the time to contact us about your remodeling experience. We take feedback from homeowners like you very seriously. I apologize for any frustration or aggravation this issue may have caused. I have reviewed your complaint and personally looked into the matter.
Power has had Installation Managers on-site multiple times to review the siding installation performed at the home and there are no installation or material related issues with the project. The siding was installed correctly and is protecting the home as intended. There has been no bug or water infiltration into the home from the siding in the 10 months since the project was completed because of the way the siding was installed and the type of system Power installs, and no siding or accessory has come loose or dislodged from the home.
The concerns that remain are with the home itself and can not be corrected by replacing or adjusting the siding. They are also immaterial when it comes to the performance of the siding and how it protects the home. Vinyl siding will expand and contract with the change in weather, independent of the expansion and contraction a home does throughout the day or throughout the year, and the siding has to be installed in such a manner that the home is protected at all times.

The siding was installed on the home correctly. Power has already been on-site to review the concerns outlined and to inspect the entire house and found no issues with the material or installation. Power offers a lifetime warranty on product and labor and as such there would be no incentive to say so if it was not the case.
Thank you,

I had a licensed home inspector inspect the contractor's siding installed you will find with this report there are several issues due to the improper and unprofessional installation.Customer Answer

The following report is from a professional home inspector who went around the entire house and inspected the entire siding job and has noted multiple issues throughout the siding job. I have reached out to the company multiple times and they have already told me they're not going to do nothing about it so maybe this inspection can show the issues I have with the job power has done.Business Response

Good morning,
The only recommendations outlined in the inspectors report is to have a qualified home remodeler evaluate those concerns, which Power has done on several occasions. The reasons for what you are seeing and what the inspector has outlined have been explained to you and they are not the result of defective product or incorrect installation on the part of Power's installation team. Unfortunately, there is still nothing Power can do for you in these instances. The existing condition of the home and the framework of the home, which is not something that Power is qualified to correct and was not contracted to address, is the reason for these areas of concern.
Thank you,

Seals on every window they installed have failed. Windows discolor and contain moisture between double glass. Power home remodeling offers a lifetime warranty on their windows but attempting to get them to honor that warranty is a nightmare! Extremely difficult to get an estimate of when the replacements can occur and when they do come to replace one or two they come with damaged products or the wrong fit. I have been waiting for over a year to have these replacements completed with no completion date in site.Business Response

Good afternoon,
Thank you for taking the time to contact us about your remodeling experience. We take feedback from homeowners like you very seriously. I apologize for any frustration or aggravation this issue may have caused. I have reviewed your complaint and personally looked into the matter.
The replacement window sash orders for your home were placed with our manufacturer and we are still waiting for the orders to be completed and delivered. It is for these reasons that the orders for the replacement sashes is taking so long to arrive at our local installation office in ************* While we continue to work diligently with all of our manufacturing partners to reduce lead times on manufactured goods as much as possible, we must in the meantime follow the current best guidance that Power is provided on expected lead times.
At the present time your orders are scheduled to be delivered to our local office in ************ later this Spring. As soon as your order is delivered, a Power representative will be in touch with you to schedule the replacement. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause and we appreciate your patience while we work to resolve the issue with the windows in your home.
Thank you,

I am rejecting this response because: this window replacement process actually began over three years ago. I noticed the windows failing after only about 9 or 10 years of installation The most recent replacement requests started almost two years ago but I cannot get a firm replacement date from them. The company promised a life time warranty but it appears that their either incapable of honoring that contract or just don't want to. They blame it all on their manufacturer but my understanding is that Power Windows Remodeling switched manufacturers and have been delivering new window products from that manufacturer but not honoring or slow walking their commitments to previous clients. I have included a couple pictures of the cloudy and discolored window. I suppose i should hang a sign on them "Acquired and Installed by Power Windows Remodeling" I never realized that a life time warranty meant that one has to wait a lifetime to have the problem resolved!
Thank you for your assistance and buyer beware!

I am rejecting this response because: what can I say? They continue to give no indication as to when the problem will be resolved. Based on my experience it appears that the customer is expected to just sit in limbo for a year, two years or longer! Unless I call them, I'm never provided any updates! Prospective clients need to be forewarned that Power Home Modeling, as even reported on our local news channel, has had problems with honoring their warranty agreements in a reasonable and or acceptable time frame! The problem still exists and still appears obvious that Power Home Remodeling is not resolving it!

Power Home Modeling seems to be able to obtain the materials to provide new customers with prompt deliveries though!
In addition to windows failing, the latches on all the Power Home Remodeling screens over time become brittle and break off making it difficult to remove the screens without damaging them!

I am rejecting this response because: it provides no additional information for me to believe that the Power Home Remodeling is attempting to correct the problems that have been reported. If i do not see an attempt soon my next step is to report to the consumer attorney generals office and hope to advance this situation to the next level. I have many windows and screens that have deteriorated to the level of me being embarrassed to have them in view of the public but will be happy to share my experiences and photos to those that are sharing opinions of the company. I see many posts online who are complementing this company after purchasing similar products but are they aware of what awaits them if and when the products begin deteriorating in an unexpected short amount of time and then are faced with a life time warranty agreement that does not seem to resolve the issues at hand. I am not expecting any other comments from the company except those that schedule the replacement of 11 windows that i have been asking for for the past year and a half Not to mention the full sized window screens that i can no longer remove because of the tabs flaking and breaking off!Regards,

Recently received an estimate to replace every window throught the house. They forgot to add a window so after the project was completed they hit me with additional charges for the window they forgot ($490.00).Business Response

Good afternoon,

At the time of the sale when you and Power agreed to enter into a contract to have the windows replaced, the agreed upon scope of work as outlined in the contract was for 18 windows. The price of the 18 window installation was $23,073.42. Later, a 19th window was added to the project. This 19th window was not a part of the original contract and as such was not factored into the original price. For it's part, Power offered to add the 19th window to the project at a price of $495.78, which is a roughly 65% discount. This 19th window and the increase in price were both agreed upon and signed off for by both parties.

I am rejecting this response because:
The sales guy didn't count the windows right but verbally told me every window (except the back door) was going to be replaced. The premeaure guy also said every window throughout the house would be replaced (why would I replace every window except the worst one). I have a recording from my ring doorbell of the sales guy telling me that all the windows are being replaced. This company made a mistake in counting the windows and now will not own up to the mistake.

Good morning,
Power has acknowledged already that only 18 of the 19 windows were contracted, furnished and installed at the home. However, the 19th window was never factored into the contract and therefore was never factored into the price of the project nor the installation. That has been made clear both verbally and in the specifications of the contract. While Power had every right to charge full price for the remaining window, Power instead elected to offer you a steep discount on this window in an effort to meet the expectations of the finish project.
There will be nothing else Power is able to do pertaining to this matter.
