Worst possible provider. I relocated to ***** and calls kept dropping. They said upgrade to a 5G phone - still didn't work. Went to transfer to another provider they would not release the phone so I return so returned it With no notice they returned the phone claims the screen was scratch - it wasn't it had a screen protector from day 1. NOW AFTER PAYING FULL PRICE FOR THE ***** they won't unlock it for 180 days CRIMINALS! Would NEVER for business with them again.

Be aware the way the treat customers and potential customers I ordered service on 3/4/2023 for myself and my husband I kept receive the same email over saying thank you for your order please call the billing department because we have a few more questions, so I called on the evening of the 4th to be told everything is fine and to call in once we received the phones because we were transferring numbers on the 5th I received the same email again, so once again I called in.. again to be told everything is fine and that they thought the emails were automated because at this time I had already received 4 of the same email.. also if I didnt have tracking in 72 hours to give them a call on 3/7/23 still no tracking so I called again to be told this time after being transferred 3 times that they have cancelled my order because they have a policy where you can not have more then 2 accounts in one house hold so because my brother and my son have their on accounts I was not able to get there service.. and then I receive a email stating they are sorry I cancelled my order and if they was anything they could do I have 30 days to begin service. I have never heard of any such thing with any cell company and they should have said this in the beginning instead of a run around for 4 days..

We are sorry to hear of the frustration you encountered when attempting to set up an additional account for your household. We understand this was frustrating. We would be happy to assist you with adding other lines of service to the existing household account. Most of our customers find they save a significant amount by bundling services.

I have had consumer cellular for the past 7 years, and they have been great. Decent rates, good coverage and helpful customer service. Just purchased my third phone from them and upgrading was a snap.

This is one of the most incompetent companies Ive ever have the displeasure of working with. Im giving them one star only because theres no option to leave -0 star review.*** tried for two months to change my bill due date only to have it not done AND to have my data usage throttled. I want to cx and go to another carrier and when I asked what day I cd cancel and incur no additional fees, a supervisor told me that was impossible to tell. Seriously. Run, dont walk, from this company. The last company I remember having this much trouble with was *** back in the day. DO NOT SIGN WITH THIS BUNCH OF INCOMPETENT BUFFOONS.

As we have no contracts our customers can change their plan as often as they would like through the last day of the billing cycle. This means the customer can move their plan up and down to meet their needs up until the last day of use. Customers can also move the billing due date but this will affect the plan and the amount of data available. After the service is used, the invoice is generated. Additionally, if you exceed the plan you have chosen, rather than charge large overage fees, Consumer Cellular moves you to the next available plan to meet the phone usage. We notify our customers when they are nearing plan limits and when the plan is changed. We are sorry to hear about your experience. We consistently look for ways to improve the service we offer, and feedback from our customers is imperative to our growth and improvement.

Bought a phone for my brother. They put the phone number my name and charged my account for his bill. and told lies. They said it was in his name and I'm stuck with the bills. Returning the phone and closed the account. My brother is disabled and has no credit card and they would not set the account up in his name when all along said it all would be done in his name. I will never do business with this company again. they lie and are unethical in how they do business.

Two years ago I ordered a flip phone from Consumer Cellular. It arrived three weeks after the date promised and I did not activate it. In January this year I ordered a sim card to activate service. Despite spending three hours with three reps, the phone never worked. One rep told me that it was possible the phone was bad but Consumer Cellular would not do anything about it. She sent another sim card. Two days before the sim card arrived when I had never used the service, I received a bill for a months service. When I called to stop the billing, the rep told me the problem was my phone, that due to network upgrades the phone I had would never work (even though that same phone is being currently sold by Consumer Cellular) and that I would have to purchase a more expensive phone. I decided to cancel my account instead. After being on hold over 30 minutes, I got a rep to cancel my service, but he kept fussing that I was "abandoning my number" (I never even knew what the number was). I gave the phone to an 89 year old friend who put an **** sim card in it and the phone worked immediately. However, the phone is difficult to operate and such poor quality sound that it is difficult to have a conversation on it. I will now have to purchase another phone for him. Consumer Cellular clearly needs to do something - their phones don't work, their sim cards don't work, their employees don't know what they are doing and don't work, and then they attempt to bill you for service they don't provide.

I attempted to switch my family's 3 mobile lines from **** to Consumer Cellular. Here's what happened next:I explained that my phone is very important to my job. The customer rep assured me that my number would not be turned off and this would be a smooth transition. My number was immediately turned off during that very call. I borrowed someone else's phone to complete the transition and was assured the phones would be up and running soon. However, my phone has been off for 3 days now and none of our other phones can make or receive calls either.I waited over the weekend hoping that on Monday I could resolve the issue. First thing Monday morning, Consumer Cellular sends me an email message saying they've been trying to contact me and because I never answered, they've canceled my service. Keep in mind: my phone was disconnected by Consumer Cellular which is the reason why they couldn't reach **** borrowed another phone to call Consumer Cellular and they admitted that they never finished porting the number. The rep admitted this was entirely their fault. I still don't have service and there was no guarantee that I could get service any time soon. I asked the rep if she would continue with Consumer Cellular if she was in my situation. She said, "Honestly, no."Hands down, this is the most inept company I've ever tried to deal with. Hours spent with them. I don't even know the problems I'm facing because no one's been able to use my business phone for three days now. Avoid Consumer Cellular like the plague. Their reps simply don't know what they're doing.

Hello *********************************,We are sorry to hear of your recent experience with Consumer Cellular and that you were without service on your business phone; we understand the importance of having a working phone. When an email is sent to a customer about their account and that we need to speak with them, we do not cancel it immediately. The account remains active throughout the contact process, which usually we attempt to reach a customer multiple times over a few days. If we cannot reach the customer, the account may be canceled, depending on the situation. Generally, an account will only be canceled if it was for an order review and our Billing team could not verify the customers information with them to release their order(s).We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns and assist you further. Our customer service department can be reached at ************, or you can chat with us online at ********************************************** Thank you,

Worst customer service experience Ive ever had in my life. Me and 3 of my nurses (we are traveling nurses) were given an advertised regarding consumer cellular from a doctor we work with we decided that it would be worth a try and after placing our separate orders we all received emails to verify our orders so me and my roommate called separately and spoke to them they said no problems should ship out following morning, nothing happens and call back, when I am told due to the separate orders being placed at around the same time we need to send documents in photo IDs, pic holding photo ID,utility bill proving residency.no problem me and my roommate sent legitimate documents. Well they said call back w a ticket # after they receive email so I did that. After run around for 36 hours phone tag w no one knowing what they are doing I finally get a call from a woman saying to be order review **** and she says that they have past due accounts for people who live AROUND us which is making it a problem for them to move forward and they cant verify our address even with my photo ID, and utility bill clearly showing that its the correct address and she clearly states they cant move forward with he order or reinstating said new account, so I just say whatever its fine I was about done anyway and we hang up. Well few hours later get another call from a man claiming to be a supervisor who proceeds to tell me that my address is a home not a condo and that my eyes are brown not blue and that i altered my utility bill and we are liars he then states that him and all his coworkers were laughing at our documents and how he could see some type of boxes in the background of my roommate pic and says that they have lost a phone at a nearby address and that it apparently our fault for people we dont even know. The treatment to customers trying to sign up was non professional and just plain rude I will spread my experience to everyone i know as a warning to avoid them like the plague.

I had consumer cellular service for more than a year. During that time I had used two different phones (consecutively) but each phones had buttons that eventually stopped working. I changed to mint mobile in August 2022. I tried repeated to change my phone number to the new services without success. Payments were made to through my credit card for several weeks after quitting cc service. Yet the company continues to send me charges on line through a last invoice. I called them to say I dont owe them any more money, yet they continue to charge me for late payments. Enough is enough. I do not owe them more money!!!
