As senior citizens and the price of everything going up my husband and I decided to scale back on our cell phone service. So we jumped thru hoops to get the required transfer info from ******* to consumer cellular. On our initial call the CC rep repeatedly told us our phones were compatible, after trying for 2hours with 4 other reps we were told we would need new phones. Our old numbers had been ported to CC but never activated. The rep said we'd be better off going to our original carrier but guess what CC wouldn't port our numbers back, next day we went to the local ******* store and by the ***** of God a person took her whole morning trying to help us.CC was rude and unbending wanting to send info to dead phones I think they hire very inexperienced people who are probably working for *****'s. Long story short had to pay transfer fee, get new phone numbers, loosing hours of time on phones with unknowledgeable reps. ***** people prey on senior citizens they don't give a ************* about you or your life or the trauma these long drawn out "hold" times impact you.Shame on them for the trouble they inflict and Shame on ******************* for endorsing them, now I turn the channel when that garbage comes on.BEWARE!!!

Bought 1st phone from Target.1/06/2023. Writing this 1/28/2023 ! Hours waiting and going through instructions to fix THEIR phone. Verve Snap. Replacement defective. No second replacement available phone from them.Supervisor threatened to charge me $60.00 if the second DEFECTIVE phone had even a scratch on it but wouldn't send me a new Verve. Even though it was past the return period and a replacement phone Target refunded my money and I bought the third Verve phone. The salesperson let me check it out before leaving. I brought my own battery with me in order to do it. No extra batteries or chargers are listed or sold by by CC. or Target. The phone says the warranty will only be honored if ZTE accessories are used. No part numbers or availability. You're on your own. All the companies in the cell phone business need regulation. All abuse every citizen. Unless you have enough to *** them there is no appeal. Competition non existent. If it hadn't have been for Target I would have had to go to rural **** without any phone. Where I'm lodging has no land line. Cell companies bought off the congress to be sure they are never regulated as the land lines were. The same people gutted land line service. Copper wires still work when there's a power outage because by law the companies had to have generators powerful enough to generate 40 W to send voice over copper. Now you're on your own unless you have your own power and a short wave transmitter.

One star! on January 22nd and January 25th My Mom's consumer **************** just failed to notify her of incoming calls and doesnt ring. No vibration to alert her either. The setting isn't on airplane mode or placed in a do not disturb mode either. Neither two reps could get me over to tech repairs. Terrible (hold time) of 15 minutes on two different dates too. Canceling and hoping to get consumer cellular AVID model phone refund. They must send her a pre paid return box.

BEWARE ! They boast of no contracts and 30 day risk free customer satisfaction guarantee but NOT SO if you purchase a phone from them. You will be LOCKED into a 6 mos contract AND return device ONLY within a 2 week period. Their standard rejection excuse is the phone has scratches and cannot be resold as new! When the phone was returned within 30 days and had normal wear and tear from that period. They had to give instructions in the rejection email how to turn the phone and in what kind of light or the scratches will be difficult to see !!! Then they should say Unless out of the box new NO RETURNS. And yes all this IS in fine print But what they advertise is NOT the case. Check out Better Business complaints on this company FIRST

Consumers Cellular has turned to c*** Once a very good and reliable service and company , they have gone completely down the toilet. I just bought a new phone from this company, a ******** G5G, paid $329.00 for what was advertised as the 2023 model.. When it arrived, it was the 2022 model. I could have bought this model from them before Christmas for $279. on sale. First off, right out of the box, the phone was defective, it would not allow me to swipe in any direction, unless I tried a dozen times, then it would just go to some strange page. It was also extremely slow. When I contacted their support department, I told the lady about the phone being $50.00 cheaper a month ago, and that they had advertised the new ******** G5G (2023) now for $329 and the old ******** G5G for $329 the same price. I explained to her that I held off on buying the phone at the sale price to see if a new one would come out in 2023. According to my account web page, it did come out, it was advertised as G5G (2023). Their rep, insisted she could not find such a phone advertised, and could not find the phone on sale last month. Basically calling me a liar. I did not receive the phone I ordered, the phone I did receive is defective, and her solution was to have me play around with this defective phone trying to reset, back up information and god knows what else. This is a brand new phone, right out of the box. I would think , a good company would say "Box it up, send it back, we'll issue you a new phone immediately" I am handicapped and don't have the patience to play around with this nonsense. They are not the company they used to be.

Dear Consumer Cellular,We, like many, are Senior Citizens. We are trying to add $$ to our Paltry Retirement after being Taxed 38% on a Windfall of what we thought would be added to our Retirement Nest. Therefore, back in the dark ages of Computerized Paper bills, Companies never billed their Customers $5 per line or per month to receive a paper bill in the mail -- like you and apparently many other Mega billion $$ Corporations do now days.1.) That bit in your Contract about that you have the Right to Charge us whatever you wish at any time--that bit is Why we Senior Citizens Opt Out of the Automatic Payment method allowing you access to our Bank Account.2.) The Opt Out gives us the Option to also Make Your Corporation Accountable to us if we should have a problem with your Services or Your Billing; which access to our Bank Account auto pay every month, does not allow us that leverage.3.) It is costing us $60 Annually for you to send us a paper bill and it cost us $ **** + in **** Postage Stamps. That $6**** thanks to your Opt Out fee added to the postage. We need that $60/yr. added to our Retirement savings!4) We are sick and tired of being "Fee-d' to death by Corporations & other Entities whose Investors already have the top 1% of Income in the *** and to those entities who send us a bill without supplying the Service(s).5) As Senior Citizens we know there will come a day when we may not be able to afford Internet Access but will still need a phone. Are you planning to charge us a Fee because we don't have internet access to bank and pay you with?Seriously, get a grip on Reality and stop the Greed of charging a Fee for any opportunity you see!

14 day trial deadline. Defective phones, poor customer service, supervisor support no help. They don't care about your problems, unprofessional and disrespectful agents who cough, eat, chew gum, sneeze, and show no respect to the caller. Some c/s reps don't speak CLEAR ENGLISH. I've had a lot of problems with my new phone since the first day I got it, and they won't replace it until they do a 10 step process, so I have to have on/ off phone service until they get off their ***** and fix my phone. I thought this was a good idea because I am a senior on a fixed income, I was wrong. I will search for another provider. C/C , SUKS !!!!!

My dad passed away in November. I called Consumer Cellular to cancel service shortly after, and not only are they charging me for the cellular service, but for a breach of contract for someone who passed away!!! Unbelievable that every other creditor wrote off the outstanding balance, and not only is Consumer Cellular asking for the balance, but charging another $100 in addition to that for breaking a contract of someone WHO DIED!!!

I had two phone numbers with Consumer Cellular through 11/23/22, at which time I ported one number to another carrier and cancelled the other. On that same day (11/23/22) I received emails from Consumer Cellular, one for each number, stating, "We enjoyed having you as our customer, and would be delighted to serve you again if your needs change in the future."I pay my bills on time and in full. I continue to receive bills from Consumer Cellular. The bills are dated 01/01/23 and 02/01/23. When I called Consumer Cellular today to ask for refunds for these amounts, I was told the lines were still active and that I had not cancelled the service, despite having cancelled the service while speaking with a Consumer Cellular representative on 11/23/22 and having received "We enjoyed having you" emails on the same day. Today ***** told me the 02/01/23 charge will be waived, but that the 01/01/23 amount would be reduced by only $15.88. (The total for the 01/01/23 bill was $75.84.) Bottom line: I paid $59.96 for service I never received.I am currently with Spectrum and am paying much less for unlimited talk/text/data and have no issues with ***************** Getting this $59.96 back is a matter of principal. I have legal and ethical options to recover this amount and am hoping for a quick resolution. If I end up having to eat that among, at least I will be satisfied knowing I will never have anything to do with Consumer Cellular again.
