      It has been more difficult to set up this time around. I don't have Internet except what's on my old phone and I need assistance changing the sim card. My previous phone purchase from CC was so much easier. I hope to make it to my son's house this weekend to help me set it up. Not very senior friendly.

      I got my sim card but cant use it yet :( The phone i purchased online wasn't compatible even though it said unlocked (that was from Amazon). I have had Consumer Cellular for years and **** be leaving anytime soon! It's a grea company with good service, good customer service, and great prices.

      Terrible customer service. I called them 3 days ago because my phone and my social security number got hacked. They were taking loans out in my name. But I can't freeze my social security number or change any of my passwords because they send your phone a text message with a passcode. My service got disconnected and they refuse to reconnect it. They say because it's fraud they need their fraud team to investigate and said it will take ***** hours. In that time the person applied for 2 more loans against my social security number. I kept calling and they said the fraud team will call me back in that time frame. Well this is the 3rd day and I've called 5 times today each time they said fraud department will call me back. They never did. So I called back and finally I got someone to say they got the approval from fraud and just need a supervisor to give the code to give me a new ESIM. No supervisor available and said to call back in 30 min. When I called back they said they have no knowledge of the fraud department approving it and changes the time to 72 hours before they would call back. I gave them all my information I don't understand why they can't turn my phone service back on. Every person doesn't communicate with each other in this company. Very unprofessional and they all pretend to try to get a hold of the fraud department. They are never there and just keep adding a days worth of hours till they will call me back. They never call back and I need to keep calling them and taking it out my frustrations on employees. My phone got hacked and they are treating me like I am the fraudster. Paying my bill and getting out of this joke of a company. There was one guy from billing that even told me ya maybe you should go to a different provider if that's how you feel. They don't care about people or the fact that my social is just in someone else's hands.

      The *** was outstanding today in helping me get my mom's phone back online. My mother is in *********** visiting her sister. She needed her phone but was unable to use due to no cellular reception. After I explained the situation to the ***, she sent an update to the device gave me instructions on helping get my mom's phone back working again. I'm in ************ so relaying the precise info was key, for me to get it to my sister to help my mom in another state.

      This company is awful and not cheaper than other companies. I have had a phone for my mom through CC for about 4 years now. Her reception in her apartment was just horrible, I was paying approximately $33 a month for her service w/5 gb of data, not very much in the scheme of things. I finally decided to switch her over to our T-mobile account, we have been paying a flat rate of $70 for 2 lines, unlimited text, talk, and data (taxes and fees included). When I stopped her service with Consumer Cellular it was 2 days into the new billing cycle, they ended up charging me $10.12 for 2 days! Because she would have gone over her allotted data they changed it to a different plan 30 days, they charged me $3 for surcharge fees, not by 30 days and tax! What an absolute ??% ripoff! They will NEVER have my business again and I would suggest others to really look into them before purchasing.

We are not a prepaid provider and we do not have contracts; service is month to month. When an account is closed, usage and billing are prorated for service through the cancellation date on the final invoice.
