I purchased LeafFilter brand gutter protection for my house in 2020. When the sales rep came out to give us a pitch he promised both lifetime "NO CLOG" warranty as well as "NO COST" cleaning of the gutters IF the gutters clogged. This was (and still is in the current web site) stated quote from their web site as of 5-9-2025 {Other gutter guards are backed with warranties that support cleanings or the removal of clogs. Why? They simply cannot guarantee that the gutter will remain free of debris. At LeafFilter, we don’t limit our manufacturer’s warranty to “if (or when) it clogs, we’ll clean it for free,” because LeafFilter really is as good as we say it is. No more clogged gutters.} When I asked to have my clogged gutter cleaned, they then started stating that it did NOT cover debris clogging the top of the gutter, only internal clogs. This is NOT how they state it on their website or in the original sales presentation to my wife and I. We are old and cant climb ladders much less climb on the roof. This is a fraudulent practice used by LeafFilter to sell their systems and then not cover the "CLOG FREE-LIFETIME WARRANTY" They want to charge for annual maintenance to remove debris their systems DOESN'T pass, and charge $79-90 or more to come fix this. I was told they would only come if they charged me this fee.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: They guarantee no clog gutter, never have to climb on roof to unclog gutters lifetime guarantee. This is on both their website now as well as their TV commercials (on now) and when a sales rep comes to sell you a very expensive gutter system that NEVER gets clogged assures you will never happen or they will come out free of charge and fix it. *SEE BOTH WEBESITE ADVERTISING AND TV COMMERCIAL for proof/example. I want my gutters cleaned, FREE OF CHARGE, every year if their system doesn't work per the "LIFETIME NO CLOG GUARANTEE".

Leaffilter installed gutter guards on my home and garage in December of 2024. Their installer punched a hole in my copper gutter which caused a leak. It is temporarily repaired with caulk, but based on expert opinion, including one of their service techs, the gutter needs to be replaced at an estimated cost of $2300. They are not communicating with me on those repairs. Additionally, a 25 foot section of gutter never had the gutter guard installed. This was identified by one of their service techs who was there to fix a host of other issues. They were supposed to send someone to complete that work, but are now ignoring my emails. I estimate the cost, which I've already paid to be between $1000 and $1200.This has been a terrible experience with poor workmanship from the start.Business Response

When the technicians came to install, they collected all the dirt out of my gutters and threw everything in my landscaping. There were tons of nails all over the driveway, sidewalk, and grass that I had to pick up. They told me they were going to give me a $250 check for having to clean up all of the piles of dirt that they dumped in my landscaping and all of the nails that they left behind. It’s been over five months, and they have NEVER NEVER sent me ONE PENNY. Also, during the last five months NO ONE has tried to contact me about this problem.. It’s been over five months and I still don’t have a check. They are EXTREMELY unprofessional. They do not stand behind their word and they definitely do not stand behind their word on their promises that they gave to me.Business Response

We were approached in Lowe’s by an employee selling leaf filter. Due to having a couple large trees surrounding the property and also having an issue with a down spout in next to the front door. We decided to have them come out and do an estimate on getting the gutters worked on. The sales person came out. I explained the problem we were having in the front of the down spout dropping the water on the side walk. He up sold me to 6 gutters. Stating that they would get rid of the down spout and be able to run the water around the u shaped piece in the front. He stated it would look great. Due mainly fixing the problem of water running down into the entry area we decided to purchase the 6 in gutter and the leaf filter. When installation day came out the installation crew was great the were very professional and took pride in their work. As they were finishing their work had went out side to check on their progress and notice the down spout that was supposed to be removed was installed. I asked about it. The crew leader showed me and explained to me why it needed to be installed that way. I contacted leaf filter and the sales rep at a little after 1pm. They told me they would have someone call me from the Denver office. When I didn’t receive a call by 2 pm I contacted Lowe’s who forwarded me to leaf filter I explained the issue and they stated they would have someone call me. At 215pm I received a call from leaf filter in Denver immediately I was put on the defensive when explaining my position. The contractor told me they couldn’t do what was promised by leaf filter but no discount or apology was was ever given. The contractor and I came up with a solution that was at least solved the problem but I now have a piece of gutter running over head above my walk way. This solve the problem but is not idle. I was told by both the rep I spoke to on the phone and the sales rep that the problem is fixed and due to unforeseen circumstances no price adjustment would be done.Business Response

We had the leaf filter gutter and system installed 4/16/2025. The installers bent up the gutter apron causing major leaks. Today the roofer we had come out said the gutters were installed incorrectly. They were moved up too close to the roof. He said they should have removed or cut off the gutter apron. Leaf filter sent someone out to repair the gutter since it was not correct. The contractor ****** who they sent said he would not have installed it this way ( meaning it was not done correctly) 1 week after installation. Now 2 weeks later we have 3 major gutter leaks. Causing water in our basement and on our screened in porch. We called Leaf Filter again and they are saying to wait 10 days for someone to come out again! I spoke to ***** the manager in Ohio and he told me to call customer service. They said they would ask him to have it done sooner. He has not called me. I have left him 2 messages with still no response.Business Response

Customer has let our Regional Service Manager know she does not want service until after her roofer fixes her drip edgeCustomer Answer
Date: 05/14/2025
I am rejecting this response because:I was told by *****,a manager, that he would make it right and offer $50 to remove and replace system so the drip edge could be repaired, $325 for the drip edge we paid for( that was refunded), $300 for the cap to close the hole they left, and $300 for the inconvenience. I said I needed to get a bid to have it done by the roofer. I called him back and another manager *** yelled at me and said they were not doing that. He said ***** didn't have the authority to offer that. I sent the bid to where *** told me to and got a response that they would not be taking care of this. The roofer said it was done by the poor installation the bent the drip edge up and the gutter up too. He is charging us $2030 to repair this. Leaf Filter is refusing to pay for this. After having sent 2 servicemen out they now want to lower the gutters, still not fixing the drip edge. My roofer advised us to let him do the repair and see if they need to come out. We are not comfortable with them doing anything since they can't seem to fix it or agree on how to do this

Customer's issues are pre-existing roofing components (drip edge). The roof that was installed 10-15 years ago did not put new drip edge down. As we are not roofing experts, we refunded the money for that portion of the contract, as the roofer would need to replace the entire drip edge under the roof. This is not caused nor exacerbated by the guttering system.Customer Answer
Date: 05/20/2025
I am rejecting this response because:
The roofer stated that LeafFilter bent the drip edge up, put the gutters and leaf guard system in( gutters were raised 2 1/2 higher than the old ones) Then the installers were unable to bend the drip edge back down and while trying to bent the drip edge badly, which is causing the water to not go down into the gutter. We had NO issues before the gutters were installed. The roofer is charging $2030 to replace this. Leaf Filter needs to reimburse this to use since their installers bent it and couldn't fix it.Initial Complaint

I purchased Leaf Filter gutter protection for my house and it was install on April 16-17, 2025. My warranty number is ********. Besides the cell phone listed my land line is ********** and has a message recorder. On April 24 it rained. I noticed water overflowing the gutter end caps without draining down the downspout. Another 12 foot section weas leaking water that was running and dripping off the bottom of the gutter over the front entrance instead of draining down the downspout. I place a service request online on April 25. I have received no response. I have also tried twice to contact * *** *** ****, was put in queue to listen to about 7 different recorded sales pitches and have the system hang up / terminate my call.Customer Answer

1. Sales rep came and pointed out that I did not have drip edge or facia on my house from the last roof replacement. And that needed to be the first step. In addition the company would not cover the top back of the house because the wood was rotted and needed a general contractor. 2. I have a general contractor that I hired to replace the top back drip edge and fascia of the house - but he was concerned with all the work that had been done on the house - wrong material , wrong screws (short and drilled into the metal ) no facia replaced when that was in the contract. Gaps in the drip edge - it would rust in 3 months. Corners were bent around edges. My roof has obvious bulging areas where the roof is leaking and needs to be replaced. So! This job of fascia and drip edge should have never been done before the general contractor assessed it. But to make the deal/ discount it had to be done that day. 3. I contacted the sales rep - and he said that he does not do roof inspections and did not know. If you look close up the nails are coming out of the roof and there are compromised areas on the roof that are easily seen. I am a single woman and did not realize what to look at (until I was shown) - and the leaf filter representative should not have taken advantage of me. 4. A few days later the drip edge on the garage came down as a result of the wind - it had short screws and only 1 screw was in every 3 ft , the screws were through the material and were not the screwed on through the top. and it is evident that the fascia was not repaired below it. 5. I will need to replace my roof as soon as possible. I am in disbelief that Leaf Filter is non responsive. The service side said they would give me a credit. But then it went to sales - - and escalation dept. apart from the service manager 's calll in April 22 no other person has given me any indication that this would be addressed.Customer Answer

There was no contract except the handwritten information that I sent originally.Customer Answer
Date: 05/14/2025
I've been in touch with the service manager - they came out again. And they see the problem with our roof but the sales side is the only department able to refund me.
the sales manager keeps referring me to service. Although the installation was all incorrect - the sales side misquoted me (see the right handwritten side - and then the actual diagram for the installation did not match the verbal explanation - and I never signed the final picture(only partial - and rotted fascia left up. In addition I need a new roof - they misled me to believe that I only needed fascia and drip edge. Putting in a new roof eliminates the possibility of having leaf filter redo their work. A refund is the only reasonable solution.

Leaf Filter is not a roofing company and those are roofing issuesCustomer Answer
Date: 05/18/2025
Above is the salesperson ******* ******* commitment to doing the work listed - the entire house with drip edge as well as replacing all rotted fascia.
However, the actual work order (which I did not see or sign) was vastly different. The sales department only sent it when I insisted they send me where they were getting the measurements from. Because it only had a few areas of fascia cited - the company covered over rotted fascia is with drip edge.
This is fraudulent misrepresentation it is a type of misrepresentation that involves using false information to intentionally trick someone into a deal or transaction.
I would not have agreed to this job with the full information.

I am rejecting this response because:
They did not take responsibility for the multifaceted issues I've encountered in this process.I have 3 major grievances. (And I realize that they are not a roofing company)
1. My roof is not viable (2 bulging areas - nails are coming out) But he knew there was a major issue on the top back of my house saying I needed a general contractor - it is all in one area as you can see in the picture that I attached (because it was an obvious roofing issue)
2. The plans ******* drawn were vastly different than my the agreement which was to replace all the drip edge on the entire house and replace all rotted fascia. However, on the actual plans given to the workers only sections of drip edge and rotted fascia was not replaced. I did not sign anything with the actual plan.
3. The job itself was shockingly incompetent. It had a few shallow screws in large pieces of drip edge they bent around the edges instead of cutting it. They covered over rotted fascia
It was so bad.. Leaf filter's service manager who came out to see it demanded their money back from those that they contracted to do the job. And that means Leaf Filter still has the money I paid them.
Meanwhile, I've been mostly ignored by the sales manager,***, and sent back to the service department twice -they came out twice and agreed that the job was poorly done, but were unable to give a refund, but it's been very unclear who in the company is authorized to give a refund. I've been told twice by the sales department that I'd be contacted by the escalation department the next day, and it does not happen. I've never talked to that department.I would hope that this well known and highly successful company who claims to have stellar materials and customer service will do the right thing and acknowledge these valid issues and give me a refund.

The job was done March 27, 2023, they used the wrong kind of screws and not enough drain spouts that would let the gutters handle the amount of water. I looked up gutter cleaners from on- line search called ************** on Tues. April 15. A sales **** ******* ***** from ******, **, came April 16 at 5pm to give estimate. He left with a check for $600.00 (his commission) for the install of new gutters scheduled for April 19. No show. Called customer ser. ************** on agreement form. New date given April 29. Was told color selected a special order. But again No Show. Called again got Service Manager. ***** said he would check into it and call back on April 30th. No return phone call. Sent e-mail to ******* ***** on May 1. No response back. Check was cashed April 19. The contract price was $4,120.00 to include taking off old gutters and replacing with Leaf Filter's system. At this point I am concerned we got scammed. How now do I get the commission check for $600.00 back which I wrote directly to Mr. ****** We were expecting just a gutter clean out, but got talked into a whole new system and with the no communication at this point, I am concerned the entire transaction was a scam. I looked up the company on-line and read other peoples experiences with Leaf Filters and its similar to what we are going through. Questionable sales tactics, pressure to commit and then no follow up, no return phone calls. Any assistance or advise you can give will be very much appreciated. Thank you.Business Response

We had the gutters installed June 19th, the first storm we had was on the 24th of June. I reported the gutters were leaking behind them the next day. I followed up on this until the August 21st. I repeatedly asked for someone to come out to repair the problem I was told someone would contact me. This never happened. On the 21st of August I sent a message saying "come take the gutters off of our house, and pay the loan off. I am done with this company." I received a call from the Operational Manager out of the ********** office within an hour. After talking with him for over an hour, and asking for a supervisors number. He kept telling me no one was in charge of him, he finally gave me a cooperate number. I called the cooperate number, I was told that someone would contact me, they would take care of taking them down, and pay off the loan asap. I gave it a week with no response, I talked with another rep around the 4th call, who told me that the person I talked with couldn't approve that, and that they were not going to uphold the conversation. I requested someone to call me other than the call center until November. I finally talked with a lady named **** ******, the Regional Installation Manager, she works out of the ********** office with the manager, ***, I talked with in August. She informed me that she would look into it. By this point we had received roof damage from the gutters leaking. December 23rd the contractor came out, what the report she sent to me, and what he told me while was here did not match at all. I have sent emails, made phone calls, and repeatedly told them to come take the gutters off and pay the loan off. The fact that they took from June to August to offer to come out and fix the problem, only after I told them to come take them off and pay the loan off. Then when trying to work with customer service and managers to resolve the issue, I was told I was responsible for any damages were not their fault.Business Response
