1 starWas told to stop feeding my dog and no water from midnight before the appointment so they could do a CT. My appointment was 9:30. At 11:00 I was still waiting for the doctor in the exam room so I poked my head out to inquire. Was then told that the doctor had a dental emergency and ***** even in yet. I totally understand emergencies but was a bit taken aback that no one let me know. I decided to wait. At ******************************************************************************************************* Suddenly the doctor walked in. No apology or even a hello, just so the dog is having nasal problems. Ok, I just roll with it. Then he starts mocking the person who is still yelling next door that he should just leave then. So I decided to mention that it was a bit outrageous that no one let us know he was running late. His nasty response? Well who should have let you know? I replied anyone, I had to ask after sitting here for an hour and a half. He said well then someone told you. I honestly cant believe how condescending he could be after I had been extremely patient. Then proceeds to tell me after looking at my dog for a total of *********************************************************************************** on Fridays. So then why was I scheduled for a Friday? He says because the receptionist wouldnt know that. Really? Then he asked if it is a tumor would you do radiation. So callous. Acting like I was in the wrong because this was just a consult. Thats not what I was told. I had to walk out. I would absolutely never bring an animal back there, he should not be allowed to see patients. I cannot believe this person has a job. Such an atrocious way to treat another person, especially someone with a potentially very ill pet that waited 2 and a half hours to be graced by his presence. I will be telling my vets office not to send patients there and I will be posting on every platform. Im still in shock about how horrible I was just treated.Review fromJaclyn B

1 starI wish I could leave a negative star, this facility is absolutely horrible do not take your pets here, they charged me a fortune and could not diagnose my kitten. They just shook their head and had no idea what was wrong with him and told me to bring him back in a few days to be charged even more money to figure it out. They also had me wait for an entire hour in the waiting room to pick him up.Veterinary Medical Center Of Long Island

To whom it may concern, In response to the report received, an account review has been completed. The discrepancy of events as described by ******************************* is not accurate. ****************** initially came to us as an emergency on 8/11/2023 at 6:20am with a 10-week-old feline named ****. **** was presented to the emergency department for evaluation of lethargy since the afternoon the day prior. ****************** states he may have been limping. **** ate the night prior but did not eat the morning of. No vomiting or diarrhea. **** was an outdoor kitten that is now indoor only. He received vaccines the prior Thursday and was FeLV/FIV negative. He was treated for fleas at the same time. After the initial physical exam, blood work and radiographs were recommended. ****************** consented. The clinician discussed the findings as there was an open diagnosis for pain and lameness at this time. The clinician advised there was a possible need for advanced imaging and diagnostics with a possibility of surgery or neurology consult. The clinician offered hospitalization vs. supportive care with return if **** does not improve. ****************** elected to try supportive care at home. As with any medical care, initial diagnostics and treatments can guide to achieving or ruling out diagnoses. The Emergency Clinician advised the client of what the diagnostics found and gave further recommendations. Unfortunately, due to our facility being an emergency hospital, wait times can occur. This happens when there are critical cases that need emergent treatments. Our goal is to provide the utmost care for any patient that comes into the hospital, which can delay services such as discharges. At every point during our client patient relationship with ******************, there was never any indication of dissatisfaction expressed. Our clinicians were in constant communication with ****************** while **** was here at the hospital. ****************** gave us no indication of any disagreement with her pets course of treatment. ****************** clearly had a choice when she came to us for help. Our fees are standard for emergency veterinary medicine. She never gave any indication of dissatisfaction with the quality of service at any point. In any hospital situation, treatment cannot take place without the owners consent upon a full estimate of the costs involved. All treatment advised and performed was deemed necessary and consented to by the client. If you should require any further information or documentation, please do not hesitate to ask.Sincerely,Practice ManagerReview fromLynne K

5 starsMy dog has been hospitalized 3 times at VMC (2 surgeries after blocked airways from salivary mucoceoles and was just released after having pancreatitis. He received amazing care each time from vets who were extremely caring and compassionate and explained completely the treatment he received. The also sent a picture of him to me each morning . Staff at the front desk were also polite and caring. Yes it is expensive, but so are other specialty/emergency hospital (I experienced another wonderful facility with my last dog and it cost a fortune). Pet insurance was invaluable!Review fromSusan S

1 starPlease go someplace else. They have overgrown and have staff that are not trained properly. Their prices are stupid high and you do not even get to see what kind of assessment your pet is getting as you are not a part of the process except when it comes to paying. They ***** your pet away and then give them back to you when they do whatever they do. They definitely are not thorough and don't seem to care about that. I WASTED over $500 just to have to see another doctor a day later. Front desk, back office, emergency vets, people reading emails.... can't say any are people I would recommend and would actually tell you to stay far away. Go someplace else, Someone told me one on 25 in ******* is very good. That is where I will go next time. Stay far far awat from *****. I was verbally told that my pet received services that he did not. Very shady.Review fromDarlene M

1 starThis place is a rip off. My dog has chronic skin issues so I took him to the dermatologist. I was told on the high side it could cost $800 for the consult with testing. All she did was scrape his skin and tell me he has a skin infection with yeast, (that was obvious, I told her thats what he always gets) hes me the same treatment Ive gotten from my vet several times, ketoconazole and antibiotics and anti fungal shampoo. They charged me $1039 , NO blood work, NO testing for what the issue is. Wanted to change me several thousands to test for environmental allergies. I think its chicken but hes on a prescription diet for stones and that cant be changed. She wasted me time and charged me over $1000, for what ? I paid less than $200 at my vet for the same treatment. This place will steal your money , RUNReview fromMarie R

1 starHorrible!!! Zero/Zilch star rating. The avian- exotic vet made my 27 yrs old sun conure bird suffer tremendously. Horrible treatment. Unethical comments made to me. He was dying, but he had a treatment plan for $3,000?? He had me come there 2 times, in the cold rain, same day, and sent me home again with my poor little ***** dying. ?? I WANTED HIM EUTHANIZED!!No care & concern whatsoever. Just a business to make oodles of money. That's it. If you love your pet, please DO NOT GO THERE!!!Review fromMichael B.

1 starWorst place on the planet. They also try to charge exorbitant prices for generic medications. They tried to charge me $115 for clindamycin, a generic antibiotic, which was available on petmeds for $12.99. I refused and asked for prescriptions. They told me they would credit my card. A week later I look at my charge bill and the charge for the medications was still there, but not the credit. They tried to steal from me and hope I didn't notice. Stay away! They don't see a pet only dollar signs.Review fromMaria K.

1 starIts ZERO stars, wish they give you that option. 2 weeks ago today I had to say good bye to my baby of 6 years old dog ****. I was away on vacation and my daughter on a Tuesday brought my dog in because she was not herself and yellowish eyes, gums and all her pink around her nose and belly. Before this she was healthy, no health problems at all. I know in my gut they killed her by misdiagnosis and treatment. Also they would not see her until my daughter paid over ******* then no treatment until she paid another 3K more. They said she was critical and needed blood transfusions (even though they did not know what it was) they kept her overnight. Next morning my daughter went to see **** and speak to doctor but again Dr would not talk to her unless she paid ******. Then they said it would cost from 10k to 12k for treatment, I said no get her out of there and brought her to our vet who said she was misdiagnosed and had a reaction to the transfusions! One of the issues they listed she had was also wrong, my vet tested her and was negative! My vet started treating her for what he thought was the issue, but was too late and I had to put her down because she was suffering! DO NOT use them, they are money hungry, rude and had no regard for the animal suffering, its inhumane to not treat them asap before getting paid! Needless to say I paid over 13k and lost my baby anyway! They need to be shut down! What else can we do? I need to ruin them for all the babies out there! They should be out of business! Even my baby was happy to leave there and much happier at my vet! Im heartbroken ?? and feel a void, I feel like I need to protect other fur babies from this place! Cruel, heartless, rude, money hunger vet hospital including the workers!Review fromdeirdra L

1 starIf you love your pet and want them to be safe, actually cared for properly and take them home stay away from *****. I am sick and tired of people who work with animals doing them wrong . ***** is unprofessional, heartless and very irresponsible. I was disappointed and broken hearted before a single test was performed on my cat. No one discussed with me my pets needs , their findings or if they even did any tests . I only found out what they did once I got home and saw the bill . The vet just walked in and said said it will be 5,000-6,000 to save her . They left me in a room without my cat and then came in the room giving me no hope for my cat with still no information on what they found . all they said was its a lot worse than you think and convinced me I had to put her down . I was nervous , confused and my mind was going in different directions so I regretfully agreed. They handed her to me already sedated and then euthanized her . I find that very odd. If I had better information or if the proper testing was done I may or may not have made the same decision. I will never know .The next day (Wednesday) I requested a copy of my pets file and the report stated things that I did not say was happening to my pet . The report did not include any findings that they found on the sonogram. Supposedly their response is that it doesnt have to be written because they physically saw it. Makes me wonder what else they lied about , what they actually did to my pet or if anything they said to me was true .Nothing I do will bring my sweet cat back to me but I want this horrible place shut down and I want justice for all of the innocent animals that were wrongfully diagnosed, wrongfully euthanized and not looked at properly because of their irresponsible and uncaring ways . They are not nice people they are fake nice and take advantage of people who are in emergency situations with their pets ! STAY FAR AWAY!
