On Tues 2/25/25 I took my outdoor cat to this place for trauma to his back leg. Dr. **** told us that our cat May not be in savable condition, and it was a "Privilege that she were explaining anything to us as she had other patients and our cat was a stray. She said in order to tell us anything we would need to assume financial responsibility and could pay 6 to 10 thousand dollars for xrays. We decided we wanted to take him elsewhere at this point. She acted as if we did not have that option and insisted on us leaving him there and they would put him to sleep or he could end up in a shelter. We asked for our cat back so we could get him treatment elsewhere but were told we had to pay $200-$400 dollars to do so. Soon after, we get a bill of $732. We were never asked if they could do anything and have no proof that they actually did! The bill consist of a consultation charge (never received because she had other patients and we were being privileged have her talk to us in the lobby), waste charges (he used the potty and they didnt miss charging us for it!) etc. We asked an explanation and she said she had began treating him and assumed we were leaving him so we needed to pay for what was done thus far. Upon arrival they gave my husband a stray cat form because he was an outdoor cat. But we actually needed to fill out a standard form. This was not made clear to us. We then filled out the correct form but unfortunately, they used that against us in order to charge us fees. Eventually Dr. **** said a supervisor would call me the next day to adjust billing, but no one called so I followed up and was told they would be in touch. No one ever contacted me. Sad part is our cat was unresponsive when we left that place and passed away a few mins after we got home. We now have a huge bill and do not believe this place has done the services listed. The fact that there is a consultation fee on the bill is proof that we were taking advantage of and inappropriately charged.

This facility refused to see my dog in an emergency when that is what they call themselves - an emergency 24 hour clinic. My dog was in kidney failure and refused to see him until I paid the whole bill in full before they even started to treat him. They took him out of my possession and held him hostage until I paid $500 for a catheter (that they removed from our prior primary vet and added a new one). They did not try to find any payment plans or help me and my family out whatsoever. Once I said I would like to put him down they suggested that I relinquish my ownership- but prior to all of this, the doctor mentioned how terminal his situation was. 3 different employees approached me about relinquishing my ownership until I finally had to start raising my voice to get my point across. I felt uncomfortable and unsafe to the point where I thought I wouldnt get my dog back. They finally gave him back, after I paid the unnecessary bill and sent us home with no answers, no testing (I was referred to this facility by our primary vet to simply get an ultrasound) and while his kidney failure was still occurring. This place is horrible and after reading reviews, Im definitely not the first ****** to complain about this mill of a facility. Disgusting

******************** from Veterinary Medical Center of Long Island pressured us to euthanize our beloved pet female dog Silky. Our pet got sick on September 2nd, 2024 and we rushed her to the hospital. She had tests done to find out the problem. Turns out she might of had a stroke. A Neurology exam was done to determine the problem. That day the neurologist ********************************* and *************************** were relieved to give the good news that with medicine and time our pet can go home and will get better. Our pet Silky had to stay the night at the hospital until she was better to go home. We were so happy to hear this good news. We had Silky for over 12 years and she was a family member. That night of 9/2 we got a call around 2am to come to the hospital as ***** wasn't doing good, we rushed to the hospital. ******************** was the overnight doctor and he explained how ***** isn't breathing properly and needs oxygen. Which she was on oxygen and we thought he was breathing fine while on oxygen, and how she isn't doing good. We explained to him that both ****************** and ************** were with her the whole day and they said she was better. I asked him to call ****************** to consult with her. ******************** then brought up to euthanize Silky. We were devastated to hear that this is the option now. We took the word of the doctor and choose to go this path after being pressurized by ********************. I contacted ****************** weeks after this situation as it didn't sit right with us. I spoke to ****************** and she escalated this to *************************. I spoke to **************** few times regarding this and the Hospital had decided to terminate ********************. I have been in email communication with the hospital ever since and expect them to make a full refund due negligence from their overnight doctor. I have been told by ***************************** that she is working with upper management regarding this, but after multiple emails I'm not getting a respond back and I hope to reach BBB to help in this sensitive matter.

I brought my four year old healthy dog (with no past medical history) in for emergency services on the night of 10/29 due to 4 episodes of emesis one of which contained blood. After a few hours in the emergency room she was diagnosed with ************ and ***************. She was given anti-nausea medication, a push of IV fluids, and was then sent home. The following day on 10/30 she did not eat anything, so I called back and was told to bring her in immediately. She was not taken back for over an hour because they had more critical patients. Once brought back I was told they were going to keep her overnight to monitor her, give her IV fluids, and do a sonogram of her belly in the morning. At 2:11 am I received a call that they non-permissively gave my dog ********* because she was standing up. Upon administration, she collapsed immediately and went into cardiac arrest. They tried to give her an anecdote and perform CPR, however neither were able to revive her. It was never discussed with me that they would give her an ****** during her stay, nor is standing up an indication to give such a harsh med. Not to mention they charged me prior to taking her back $2400.77 for procedures that were never preformed (ie sonogram) which was supposed to be adjusted and never were. It has now been 2 months and they refuse to answer my numerous phone calls or return messages. Aside from gross negligence, My credit score has dropped a significant amount due to the high usage of leaving this bill unpaid awaiting adjustment. They have no sympathy for what was done. We had an autopsy done and nothing was wrong with my dog. There is no excuse for the negligent and improper treatment my dog received, and charging me for services not provided or approved. This establishment should be shut down, for the sake of other poor animals and their owners. My experience with them has been nothing but a nightmare.

At the end of June (approximately the 28th) of this year I brought my cat ****** to the Veterinary Medical center of *** The cat had been attacked by two dogs and suffered a fractured jaw. After the cat was examined by *******************************, the veterinary dentist, I was informed that she would need surgical repair of a fractured mandible under general anesthesia, at a total cost of approximately $4600. I thought the cost was exorbitant, but the staff told me that the alternative was euthanizing the animal. I was told that an acrylic splint would be wired to her mandible, and this would remain in place for 6 weeks while the fracture healed, after which the splint would be removed. The surgery was performed successfully and we were given an appointment for August 16th for removal of the splint. There was never any mention of additional fees, and I did not expect any.On August 16th we returned to the Veterinary Medical Center to have the splint removed, and I was presented with an estimate for $2000-3700 for removal of the splint and possible additional tooth extractions. They refused to remove the splint without payment in advance. When I complained that there was no mention of additional charges for the splint removal, either verbally or on the printed discharge instructions, the staff merely apologized for any miscommunication. ******************** informed me that the splint should not be left in place indefinitely, since it would eventually become infected. She apologized, but stated that the Veterinary Center would not allow her to remove the splint without payment.

We have received notification from a ***************** "********, ********************** regarding a bill from this organization. The amount of the bill is for $469.00 with $178.22 in additional fees for collection. We never received an actual bill prior to this going to collections. The agency stated that bills were sent to our previous address, however, we had all mail forwarded to our new address from the **** and never once received a bill. In addition, we had 2 phone numbers and an email address on record that were not utilized once to contact us.While I have no problem paying $469.00 for services that were rendered, I absolutely will not pay additional fees related to collections for a bill that I never received.

On Monday 9/19/2022 I took my dog (1 1/2 years old) to Veterinary Medical Center of Long Island. He had been hit by a car and required medical attention due to his leg being broken and multiple teeth had been knocked out. When they brought him back, one of the reps had given me an invoice including things such as $27.00 for medical waste clean up and included a total of 7 x-rays for the same leg. After heavily disputing the total of $2800.00, we advised that clearly this was not something we can afford and they did lower the total to $1213.00. Their bedside manner was inexcusable and the amount they are charging for emergency care is price gauging.

My wife and I brought our dog to the Veterinary Medical Center of Long Island in ********** due to medical complications from ********* disease. They charged my credit card more than $5,000 with no problem. Our dog was released on August 4th, at which time they provided me with paperwork to show I'm due a credit of $1,710.23 and that they would initiate that credit immediately. On Monday, August 8th, I did not see a credit on my credit card account, so my wife called the Vet and they said no problem, they are aware of the $1,710.23 credit due and they would initiate it immediately. I checked again on Wednesday, August 8th - the credit was still not initiated. My wife called them again, and again the girl said they will process the credit immediately. Now it is Thursday, August 9th, and the credit is STILL not on my credit card account. I called the Vet myself, and told the girl I wanted to speak with the billing manager in charge. The girl at the front desk said she was in a meeting, but would take care of it. I said that I expected a phone call back today from the billing manager, and I left my name and cell phone number, and that I also expected that the credit would be initiated today otherwise I would be filing a complaint. Well, the credit STILL has not be initiated on my credit card account, and the vet NEVER called me back! TERRIBLE business - they had no problem charging my card for more than $5,000 instantly, but when it comes to giving the consumer back money they are entitled to, it's IMPOSSIBLE to get back.
