1 starThey said two of the more expensive books were "counterfit copies" and that they were sending them back to the publisher who would be contacting me. That was eleven months ago and have not heard from BooksRun or the publisher. Fradulent business. Also on their contact page, there are no fillable areas to contact them. Use World of Books or ECampus to sell books back.BooksRun

1 starAbsolutely horrible and lies. I did the buy back and now they are saying I didn't send a book however it is not in my office and I have not gotten rid of any other books anywhere. So I know I sent it they just want to lie to not have to pay out.BooksRun

1 starThis is a scam! They have said that 3 of my textbooks were counterfeit. Then they wont send them back. There is no way they could be counterfeit because I bought them from the publisher. I still have the receipts. I sent them brand a new book that they paid $.30 (cents) for that I paid over $100! Absolutely horrible.BooksRun

Our system registered a single quoted item, and the second copy was not included in the submitted buyback ******** accordance with our ******************* books that were not listed in the original quote are not eligible for payment at the quoted price and may be revalued based on the current buyback rate. Since the unquoted copy was received and processed at our facility, we offered a courtesy custom payment of $1.98, which reflects the current value of the title.We want to assure you that no items are removed or withheld during processing. 1 starBooksRun will keep your property and not pay you for it. BooksRun does not have the authority to deprive one of their property.I was quoted a couple hundreds of dollars for my books by BooksRun. After a few weeks I had to follow up with they since they were having issues processing my order. When my order was finally processed, they noted that they could not pay me for two of books. This cut my quote by more then a hundred dollars. The books that I sent to BooksRun were legally bought from either a university books store or directly from the publisher. The books were lightly used or still had their original seals on them. My books were engineering books that cost more then $200 dollars at the time of purchase. I was quoted a fraction of this but still agreed to do a trade. Booksrun initially denied me payment for my books without an explanation. I had to follow up with BooksRun for a reason they would not pay me for my books. This took a couple of days. They provided only a couple of photos that almost show no difference between my books and other books that they have. They claim my books was a counterfeit and they would not send the books back to me. They did not provide any information on how they are able to identify that the books other then minor differences that could be due to slight changes in publication. They did not provide credentials of the individual who is doing the books review. They did not provide information about the book they claim to be authentic vs my books. They did not provide information about what will now happen to my books. Even if they keep, they books how would the properly dispose of it. How could proper disposal be confirmed? I ask multiple times for my property to be returned to me. Booksrun is not an authority and should not act as an authority. My property should be returned to me if Booksrun will not accept it. BooksRun performs bad business practices where they take advantage of the consumer.BooksRun

1 starI just rented the wrong book from this company. Their website and terms of service state that they will give a full refund if the book has not been shipped yet. 1 starThis place will cheat you and steal your money. I paid to rent a book and I return the book. They said I damaged the book and it wasn't usable anymore. They took money out my bank account without permission. They charged me the full price of book. Turn out they continue to rent out that book. They continue charged to people rent that same book that supposed so damaged but continue to rent it out. They will scam out your money and continue to make money off of you.BooksRun

In concordance with the accepted policy, the rented item in Used - Good condition was sent. This particular condition implies some general signs of tear and wear, some markings, highlighting etc.; however, all the text should be legible and all pages included. The item might show wear from consistent use, but it remains in good condition and functions properly.According to our records, the item was returned to our warehouse, however, we received it with water damage signs. In accordance with our Terms and Conditions, which all our customers agree to be bound by, if the item received exhibits signs of damage, the customer is to report the issue to the seller directly within 7 days after the items delivery. Otherwise, the customer becomes solely responsible for any condition change incurred. It is also mentioned that when you receive your rental item, it still belongs to BooksRun, unless the purchase price is charged. If a rental item is damaged by the user to the point of being unusable when returned, a purchase price will be ********** case with order #*******, the charge was automatically estimated by our system taking into account the purchase price of the book and the condition alterations since water damage automatically changed the initial condition of the book to Used - Acceptable. Since the book was returned to us in a condition which differs significantly from the initially rented condition, the charge in the amount of $40.54 was applied accordingly.We have no doubts that there was no intention to deceive us from your side, therefore, once you contacted us, in order to make up for the inconvenience caused, we were happy to investigate the case and assist you in a timely fashion.Once again, we are grateful that you brought this matter to our attention. 1 starI have been selling books, including textbooks, back to another company for 2 years now. Never any major problems. Frustratingly, of the two times I used Booksrun to sell back books, I was accused of sending in counterfeits. They were not. First it was a "counterfeit" claim for a textbook, that weeks later it was changed to teacher edition. It was official and a student edition. So I received $2 rather than the $35 offered. Second, a month later. Another textbook, and they say it's counterfeit. They need to wake and fix the misidentification problem.BooksRun
