Drop is advertised as an app where users get rewarded for their purchases. Their website still states: "Step 1: download the app to get Drop Points... Step 2: Don't forget to link your debit or credit card... Step 3: Cash in those Drop Points for gift cards and other great rewards." They even say "IT's as easy as 1-2-3." I have been using the app for several years. In the beginning, the app worked as promised: I would get points for purchases made through the app and the points were easy to redeem as gift cards to several vendors. However, since this year the app has been incredibly troublesome. The company made it much more difficult to redeem any points. For example, I used to be able to open the app, redeem ****** points for a $50 Amazon gift card, and use that balance immediately. However, now the company only releases an incredibly limited number of gift cards at 12PM CST. 99% of the times I try, the app either crashes or takes several minutes to load before saying all of the gift cards are "sold out." There are several other frustrated app users online, stating the company no longer delivers what it advertised and used to be capable of doing in the past. Currently, I have ******* points worth $126.39. I tried for the last several months to redeem my points but failed. I would like the company to give me the cashback they supposedly gave me as their app advertised would be "easy" to get.Customer Answer

Ive been trying to redeem points for a gift card since April and no luck. They refunded my points, but havent been able to cash out (the entire value of the platform). They drop weekly $25 gift cards but I havent been able to redeem one and theyre sold out within minutes. I have $104.29 worth is rewards gift cards I am unable to redeem. I have tried for months and the cards are always 'sold out' in less than One minute. If they can not uphold their end of the deal then they need to cash customers out. I have signed ** in their app for alerts to the gift cards drops but they don't actually send any notifications. App advertises connecting credit cards, playing games, and taking surveys for points that can be redeemed for gift cards. They have gift card drops once a week to redeem your points but the gift cards are "sold out" one minute after they drop. I have tried to redeem my points several weeks in a row, getting on the app 10 minutes before the drop starts and they are always sold out right after the drop opens. I have over $45 in points that I will never be able to cash out due to this. This is false advertising and while I have reported this to the company they have not resolved the issue.Business Response

Total scam! I redeemed my points for $50 in gift cards. After over 2 months and well beyond the redemption timeframe, the company communicated it was changing the way it redeems gift cards. My pending award was cancelled and they now release gift cards at a 1pm some Wednesdays. Im on the app every release day at 1pm, select a gift card and immediately get an error message. Then (still at 1pm) receive a message that all gift cards are done for the day. Do not link your cards! I will delete this app a** soon as I can get some kind of compensation for the points Ive accrued. You keep accruing points but can never redeem them. Bad business practice!Business Response

My gift card order was cancelled, yes they sent an email about the cancellation but that doesnt change the fact that they processed my order and then changed their offer. Their current process also makes it impossible to actually redeem points for rewards as advertised. I will not consider my complaint resolved until I receive gift card redemption as initially promised.

The Drop app is a scam. We linked OUR credit cards to earn points for shopping through their links. When we try to redeem our points there are NEVER giftcards available. They started a new thing were gift cards drop at noon on Thursdays but even 10 seconds after their drop there are never any gift cards. I have over $166,000 in points and its $25,000 points for one $25,000 gift card. The app is a scam and I unlinked my cards since I can never redeem a gift card.Business Response

Drop provides an app where points are earned through games or shopping online. These points are worth $1.00 for ***** points and are supposed to be redeemable for Gift Cards after ****** points are earned. For months, there were errors stating it would take up to 60 days for redeemed gift cards to be sent and now they have 1 weekly drop where a limited number of cards are available at 1pm on Thursdays. I have been attempting to redeem my ****** points and the app is either broken or unavailable during this time frame or there are no gift cards available.Business Response
