I made what Shutterstock presented as a "one-time" purchase for five pictures. This purchase was then put, without my knowledge on "automatic refill." This resulted in my card being charged twice. The "automatic refill" charges occurred immediately after the initial charges. Shutterstock is misleading customers to state "one-time" at the initial purchase and then immediately charging the card a second time.

Shutterstock is practicing similar terrible and predatory business practices like Adobe. They entice you in to their subscription plans with month to month pricing but then charge a 50% of the annual fee if you need to cancel. They make it difficult to cancel and a pain. I hope the *** goes after them like they are with Adobe!

Shutterstock has an annual plan, and if you try to cancel it before 1 year, they charge you 50% as a cancellation fee. This is egregious. The monthly credits you get are not even transferrable to the next month. This is the worst customer service I ever experienced, and I will never ever use this site again.

One star is too much for them. I don't even think that what they are doing is legal. I know of a lawyer who took on a corrupt bank in my distant past. I think I'm going to alert him of them to see if it there is money in it for him.I didn't even like their images after a couple of months. Hostage is the right word. I'm stuck paying for this contract I don't even remember signing while I go find the images I need elsewhere.

They will hold your credit card number hostage! Don't do business with them! I am filing a class action lawsuit for all those that got jacked by this company. They are deceptive and acting criminally. Buyer Beware!!! you will regret your purchase with this company!

TERRIBLE BILLING PRACTICES. I purchased a two-image pack on behalf of my company (with a company credit card) and was charged TWICE, a result of Shutterstock's "automatic renewal" system. Here's how it works: you pay for 2 images and then download the images. Shutterstock then triggers their "automatic renewal" and charges you AGAIN for 2 images because, supposedly, your initial pack has "expired." It's maddening and unethical. These people should be prosecuted.

absolutely awful. traps people into a yearly annual commitment, disguised by a normal SaaS monthly fee. impossible to cancel. I used this service 1 day and now have to continue paying for the entire year

It's ridiculous that this company charges $40 plus tax to cancel because the reasoning is a service charge to lower the price to the free version. This is a company that finesses financial scams and financial genocide against its customers; this is a multi-billion dollar corporation, and the *** becomes wealthy over this financial scam and robbery. It should be made known so that *** **************************** can stop robbing people for a fake fine and propaganda of "lowering membership requires a cancellation fee" SCAM.In addition, the membership is a scam. I can't wait until bloggers and non-multimillion corporations can't buy out the new and emerging companies because people are aware of this financial scam and the ***'s thievery.Read the comments below, or wait until Shutterstock financially robs you.

Shutterstock charged me 19 months for a service I never agreed to nor did I use in that timeframe because the business is no longer viable because I retured due to vision issues. They literally stole over $1400 from my credit card.

Horrid. As others mentioned, the subscription is lacking in quality. Then you get hit with the $40 cancelation fee. I hope everything does their research before giving this sleazy company a dime.
