I am working with National Debt Relief. They said I would not be charged extra for the program I signed up for. They have received $8,239 from me since I signed up. They have paid my creditors roughly $1700 and paid themselves the rest. They say I have a $0 account balance and now owe $800 for a new offer. This was never explained, and now I have to reject the offer. My credit is gone, and now they are telling me I need to pay more, only six months in.Business Response

So, I made account to help with my debt but I start to have problems with making the deposits because life just throw me a curve ball and I just could not afford anymore. So, I canceled the program and I am told I owe all these other fees that no one told me about and no everyone I talk to is being unprofessional and very rude.Business Response

On April 3rd I received a call from National Debt Relief about my account. I told them because of my situation I can not make a payment anytime soon. So the person on the phone said she will put my account on pause for 60 days which means no automatic payments too. Not even a month later they took money out of my account 348 dollars. I reached back out to them to see if they can cancel it and they denied to cancel it. I'm currently trying to get the full 348 back but because of all the fees I'm only looking at 171 back which makes absolutely no sense especially after I was told money would not be withdrawn from my account until 60 days has pass. No im behind on my car payment due to their faulty system, and behind on my phone bill. Does this not sound illegal?Business Response

I enrolled in the National Debt Relief Program to manage my debt. In the short time that I was enrolled in the program, I had little contact with my creditors. *** only managed to acquire settlements on two of my past-due accounts. I decided to cancel my enrollment with their program and enroll in another debt relief program. At the time of the cancellation, I had a little over $300 in the savings account used to pay off my debt. Even though there was over $300 in my savings account, I only received an ACH deposit of *****. The rest of the money has gone to "settlement fees." I want the BBB to be aware of this, as I feel this constitutes fraud on the part of National Debt Relief.Customer Answer

On 4/22 I was told that if I deposited $1722 and change, that my program would be paid in full and finalized by 4/30/25. I authorized $1725.00 to be sure this would be done and closed. Well it is 4/30/25 and they are now asking for more money. Not one of my accounts are pending creditor approvals, or showing a pending settelment. WHY?? Because they are scammers. This company has erronous fees, upon fees and doesn't listen to the customer. I wanted credit cards paid off in full and they are making payments instead. I didn't authorize payments to *****, yet they are entering me into an agreement... They are scam artisits!Business Response

I retained ********************, **** for debt settlement services, trusting them to help me recover from financial hardship as a single mother. Over my engagement, I contributed more than $15,000 into the firm's "dedicated savings account" making significant personal sacrifices, including working seven days a week, to comply with their program.Despite my good faith efforts, Gitmeid prioritized collecting its own "contingency fees" over ensuring my creditor settlements were maintained. They rushed to settle my largest debt (**** **** within two months with virtually no savings accumulated maximizing their legal fees while jeopardizing my financial stability. This approach contradicted their verbal assurances that settlements would not occur until I had saved 25% of each debt's balance.Throughout the program, I raised repeated written concerns (on 6/16/23, 7/17/23, 11/15/23, 4/27/24, 7/3/24, and 1/11/25) about fee withdrawals depleting my savings and risking defaults. Gitmeid did nothing meaningful to address these concerns. They blamed minor payment interruptions despite my overwhelming contributions instead of acknowledging that their own predatory and unethical fee-first practices caused my settlements to collapse.Ultimately, I paid Gitmeid almost as much as I paid toward my creditors, was left with failed settlements, renewed creditor collections, worsened credit, and significant emotional distress.Business Response

National Debt Relief are crooks. They have taken hundreds of dollars worth of deposits and have not been paying my creditors. I am wanting to cancel and they are telling me that I owe over $900 to them for their fees. They barely paid my creditors over $100 and I have been in the program for over a year. I have called and spoke to representatives that continued to throw our changing figures that made no sense whatsoever. I am an accountant so the transactions should be easily explained. I asked why none of the payments made to creditors or any information for that matter referencing paying down my debt was available on the portal. I was told that I would receive a breakdown which I have yet to receive. This is an awful company and I feel as if I have been robbed! They hound you to get you to sign up and put on the impression that they are there to help but they rob you blind.Business Response

They pursued me to use their business to relieve me of my debt. They assured me that they could do this at a rate of $ 434 a month. They were able to resolve 3 of my debts for a menial amount, but the remaining debt has been written off. They said I could cancel the other r service at any time. When. I canceled the service yesterday, they immediately made a debit on my bank account. They said I owe them $1300 for their services so far. I will not pay that and I have put a stop payment on my account. I want them to seice and desist.Initial Complaint

I have never owned a credit card in my life and owe nothing to anyone. They have sent me for 2-3 years their mailings. I don&#**;t owe anyone any money. I have asked them to quit calling me and to leave me alone. I called them and they said it will stop but they continue to contact me. I would like for them to leave me alone.Business Response
