Charged twice after requesting auto payment to be removed. Caused a late payment with my mortgage and overdrafted my account after auto pay request was confirmed to avoid this. Then payment went through and they did it twice.Business Response

Dear BBB,
Unfortunately, we are not able to locate an account with the consumer information provided. The provided statement appears to indicate that a loan company was withdrawing funds from their bank account. OneMain and National Debt Relief are not the same company nor are we affiliated.
Sincerely,

I've received DOZENS of unsolicited (to the best of my knowledge) emails from them, have clicked "unsubscribe" every time, have reported them as phishing and junk to my email provider, and have blocked them, but they continue to email me at least a couple of times per day. When I "unsubscribe" if often get a message similar to "page not found" or "can't load page," which is wildly suspect.I've emailed them directly at their ********************************** email address, yet continue to get solicitations.I JUST WANT THEM TO STOP, PURGE MY EMAIL ADDRESS FORM ANY AND ALL OF THEIR RECORDS, and to stop any and all communication to me from them, their subsidiaries, and ***'s.Business Response

To Whom It May Concern,I authorized an ACH withdrawal to National Debt Relief for May 27, 2025. However, the company withdrew the funds three days early on May 24, 2025, without my consent. This unauthorized early withdrawal resulted in my account being overdrawn, and no corrective action has been taken by the company. This incident has caused serious financial hardship, as the timing coincides with a holiday weekend and the birthdays of my two children. As of now, I have no available funds due to this premature withdrawal.I immediately contacted my bank, ****************************, and after reviewing the situation, they have identified National Debt Reliefs action as unauthorized and potentially fraudulent.Customer Answer

I acquired debt while I was attempting to create a viable Pug dog breeding program. After my first litter of puppies in 2024, between working, selling my mobile home and successfully selling five Pug puppies, I was debt free and had a great credit score. Last summer I treated myself and my Pugs to a couple months spent in ********. Everything went wrong! The traveling expenses were twice what I had planned for, one of my Pugs had medical expenses. My plan was to come back to *******, live in an RV on a rented RV space. Again everything cost more than I expected and beginning in August *********************************** order to pay for rent and general living expenses. It took me until late October to find a job. I bred one of my Pugs, in expectation of receiving enough profit from selling her puppies to pay off ALL of my acquired debt. My dog had six healthy puppies and I was ready to start accepting deposits; that is when my other female killed and partially ate all of the puppies. I started paying as much as possible on all of my debts, but when I saw a single months interest on one was over $400 I called National Debt Relief, because I knew I could never catch up on my bills. The person I spoke with was very encouraging (**** *******) and we worked out a payment plan I could afford. Now more old debts, more than 10 years old have been added to my plan, THAT I DID NOT AGREE to! Ive written emails, talked with different people over the phone and they are telling me I have to pay the debt I did NOT agree to pay.Customer Answer

This matter is regarding the false explaination and lack of transparency from the National Debt Relief program practices with the client seeking for debt relief guidance. National Debt Relief led me to believe that my debt could be resolved with the creditors, not telling me that the client has a history of not settling. Thus because I was advised to prove a "financial hardship" with the creditors I was advised not to pay the monthly bill. This practice caused my debt to increase on the credit cards debt relief through National Debt Relief to double from ongoing late fees added to original balance. I spent more paying off the original balance. National Debt Relief caused me to spend more money than my original owing balance to the creditors. Other clients who are entrusting debt relief guidance/assisting need to know that National Debt Relief is not a practice transparency in their business with seeking clients.Customer Answer

National Debt Relief is a program that pretends they are there to help. They are just like any creditor agency. If youre in debt, call the companies up yourself. Over the course of 8 months, they resolved only 3k, while charging my nearly another thousand, after I decided to educate myself and pay my credit off without their assistance.Business Response

I answered an ad saying National Debt Relief (***) could help me pay off my debt in 6 months or so; they did say it would affect my credit score, but that as soon as the debt was paid off my credit score would come back up. They wanted me to add a loan for my business because they couldnt get the total to where they needed it, but I only had five months left to pay on the loan. I entered 7 debts into the program, but my bank, ****, wouldnt stop the automatic payments to their own credit card, so I had to drop that from the program. *** would liked for me to have switched banks to stop the payments, but I said no. They lowered my payment to them, but now I fear its going to take so long for them to be able to negotiate any payoffs with these creditors, that it will be detrimental for me financially to continue in their program. Their website says 6 months they have negotiated 50% of their clients debt; I just dont see how this can be remotely possible in my case for years.Business Response

National Debt Relief (***) made promises and assurances to assist us in settling debt with several credit card companies, and we began paying for their services in February 2024. Since that time, they have not only done very little to reach settlements with our creditors, while we continued to pay them $288 twice monthly (a whopping $576 per month), but they also advised us not to engage directly with any of our creditors even as these creditors began to threaten to take us to court. Finally, one of our creditors served my husband with court papers and a date to appear last November. At that time, an *** legal team member was still not able to reach an agreement with the creditor. We reached out to *** multiple times prior to this event about the possibility of court, and each time we were told that they would handle it and we didn't need to worry about it. Well, now we are facing court again due to their false and misleading counsel, all while they continued to drain money from us. When my husband tried to address this with an *** representative by phone today, they hung up on him! We are a hard-working couple with four young children just trying to survive, and we just want out of this nightmare. Please help. Thank you.Business Response
