Today, I find myself frustrated as my account still holds my $989, compounded by the fact that I need to file an amendment for my taxes, which will cost an additional $300 due to previous errors. The real issue here is the lack of accountability from my tax **********; this is already my second ********** after the first was fired, and my LLC, nonprofit, and personal taxes have all suffered as a result. When I logged in for my scheduled appointment, the electronic chatbot informed me that there were no appointments available for my case. During the call I received, the tax ********** casually mentioned that I was missing a crucial documenta statement. When I requested an example, I was told to "****** it," delivered with an unwarranted confidence that only added to my frustration. Do you know their refund policy: Yes, but you will not be eligible for a prorated refund after the 30-day window has closed. If the services are unused, they will be available to you for up to 12 months from the purchase date.Business Response

I retained this company far in advance of tax season. They will not return calls or answer questions. My filings do not appear to be correct and I have already contacted them about one mistake and they have already corrected it - according to them but, I cannot verify their correction through paperwork. This was my first company and personal filings. When I call the main number, they tell me they "will escalate my case" give me case number (last one was *******) and that they are unable to reach my accountant (******) in order to determine why she blows off the appointments. We signed a contract engaging the accounting services of ***** Accountant on November 27, 2024. We were assured that by signing early there would be no problem getting our taxes figured and sent the the *** by April 15, 2025. We were also assured that we could be assisted in filing as an ******* We did everything ******, the tax representative, told us to do, on time. He scheduled three meetings with us and ended up canceling each one. The very last time we spoke with him via telephone on April 9, 2025, he advised us that our taxes did not look right and that he would escalate our case to our accounting team so that they could be submitted to the *** on time. We have not heard from anyone ever since. We have called, online chatted, and send numerous messages through their system to get help ASAP. We then had no choice but to file an extension on our taxes. When we've called and done online chats, we're always told our case will be escalated immediately. I have no idea what they mean by that, because it's been weeks since we've heard from anybody. I gave up asking for them to finish our taxes. I'm just going to have to take them elsewhere. The last message I sent was to ask for a refund, but I don't believe anyone will reply. I sent it on their same in-house message system that I've sent numerous other messages, and no one replies. I have no idea what to do next. This company really put us in a bind. I'm really starting to wonder if this is even a legitimate company.Business Response

While one of these was marked as a no-show, two others were dispositioned as completed despite no contact being made. Lack of Communication: Your concern about limited responses after your April 9th conversation is valid. While a few replies were sent, we recognize that there has been no contact since April 17th despite your continued outreach. This lack of follow-up during such a critical time is not reflective of the service you were promised.
Refund Request: Your message requesting a refund was not addressed, and a cancellation case was not initiated. We acknowledge that you were left without guidance or resolution, and we understand how frustrating and disappointing this must have been, especially given your efforts to comply with all instructions and meet tax deadlines.

In early 2025, I signed up for services with 1-800Accountant after speaking with a sales *** who assured me the service would fully support my new business. I explained that I had just opened an LLC in December 2024 and previously operated as a sole proprietor and needed help organizing and filing taxes, as I do not have accounting experience The *** told me Id have a dedicated tax advisor, a full support team, and that I could pay the annual subscription in 3 monthly payments, with a chance to cancel and get a refund if I wasnt satisfied.I paid approximately $3,000 based on these assurances. At first, communication was regular, but after initial setup, support dropped off significantly. I was promised help p***aring and filing taxes but the only help I have received is filing for an extension. I had to do most tasks myself, and it felt like I was using TurboTaxnot working with a professional team.Later, I learned that they only guide clients rather than handle things directly. That is not what I signed up for. I needed hands-on help, and the *** mis***resented what they ********** April 2025, I called to cancel and request a refund. I was told refunds are only offered within 30 days, despite being promised a 3-month trial. A ticket was opened to review call recordings, but I was told no refund promise was found, and I was denied copies of those calls. I was simply told, Sorry for your experience. Instead, Ive received minimal service, broken promises, and no accountability. Ive had to chase them for everything, which defeats the purpose of hiring an accounting service in the first place.This service was mis***resented to me, and I am extremely dissatisfied. Service Expectations:
Our records confirm that during your enrollment call, our sales agent accurately described the services included with your plan. This included a dedicated tax advisor, a support accountant, and a tax analyst, as well as preparation and filing of both your business and personal tax returns. There was no indication that a 3-month trial period was promised, nor were you advised that the services included fully hands-on support for every task.
Service Usage:
You enrolled in February 2025 and held five appointments with the Accounting team within the first two months of service. Our system also shows that the messages you submitted through the client portal were answered in a timely manner and your questions were addressed. We understand it can be frustrating to complete parts of the onboarding process independently, but our records indicate our team remained available and responsive.
Tax Filings:
At the time your refund request was made, the required tax intake documents had not been submitted, and therefore, no tax filings had been completed. While we regret that the service did not align with your expectations, our team was actively working with you and ready to assist further had the process continued.
Refund Policy:
As you mentioned, our refund policy allows for cancellations and refunds within the first 30 days. Your request for cancellation and a refund fell outside of this window. However, in recognition of the unused services, management has approved a partial refund of $1,073 for the unfiled business and personal tax returns.
We will also ensure your subscription is marked not to renew moving forward.

Im extremely disappointed in the service I received from 1-800Accountant. They provided me with inaccurate information about my tax filing, asking for documents that did not even exist, and insisted that I was wrong despite being the professionals I was paying to rely ***** the time I realized they had given me incorrect information, I had completely lost trust in their ability to handle my taxes. I requested a call from higher management on March 6, and they did not contact me until April 23 after the tax deadline had already passed.Despite the long delay and failure to perform the service, they only refunded the tax adviser fee, not the tax filing fee even though they never actually prepared or filed my taxes. It is completely unacceptable to keep money for a service that was never delivered.I appreciate that I received $1,270 back, but considering how poorly my case was handled and the fact that no tax filing was ever completed, I truly should have received a full refund. Tax Filing Guidance: Our records indicate that the information provided to you was accurate. You were advised that your business return would be completed first and then included in your personal return filing. While we understand you later interpreted this differently based on your own research, the advice given was consistent with standard filing practices.
Requested Documentation: You were asked to submit your Articles of Organization, a routine request when preparing business returns for LLCs. We understand you encountered difficulty obtaining this from your states Secretary of State, but it is a standard and necessary document for compliance purposes.
Delayed Manager Callback: You asked to speak with a manager on March 6, and our Tax Advisory Manager, ******* *., called you on April 23. While there was a delay, the refund for ********************* was not because of that. It was based on the conversation you had with ******* during that call. She made the decision to issue that refund based on your feedback and concerns.
Tax Preparation Status: While you completed the Business Virtual Tax Organizer, key components were missing, including a Profit & Loss statement, balance sheet, and your ****** election approval letter. Without this essential information, our tax team could not finalize your business return. Additionally, the Personal Virtual Tax Organizer was never completed. As a result, we were unable to proceed with your personal return preparation.
While your request for a full refund falls outside of our refund policy, in good faith we have approved an additional refund of $323 for the ********************************* as no work was initiated for that portion. Combined with your prior refund of $1,270 for Tax Advisory, your total refund issued is $1,593.We recognize that this situation has been disappointing, and we truly regret any inconvenience caused. 1-800-Accountant has been an absolute nightmare to work with. I own a small business and rely on them. Last year, due to their ineptitude, I was forced to pay over $800 to the *** due to their mistake. Now, I have had them flake out on four separate appointments to get my business and personal taxes filed. I opened a case with them and I am continually promised a call from a manger. This has yet to happen. Voicemails were left after each missed call, except for the April 14th attempt, which was unable to connect with your voicemail system. However, we understand you had been using a secondary number to return calls, and unfortunately, this may have contributed to the miscommunication.
We also acknowledge that after your advisor reassignment, there was a delay in follow-up communication, which added to your frustration. We sincerely regret the oversight and have addressed this internally to prevent similar issues from happening again.

I was with 1800Accountant for 1 year and just cancelled my subscription recently due to the lack of communication and the inability of doing what I paid them to do. Like many other grievances, I too have been calling multiple times per week since February to get both my business and personal taxes filed. I reached out multiple times via phone call and message on the portal to my assigned accounts but have not received any response for over 2 months. Every time I call, they tell me they created a high priority case. Yet I never hear back from them. Both my business and personal taxes are past due, I had to pay another company to do the job I paid 1800 accountant to do; file my taxes. They had no problem taking my money. I am filing this complaint regarding my extremely negative experience with 1-800-Accountants. I contracted their services for my small business accounting needs and have made 10 monthly payments of $544 ($5,440 total) for services that have been grossly ************* experience has been characterized by:Consistent unprofessionalism and poor communication Multiple canceled appointments without proper notice Failure to respond to inquiries in a timely manner Misleading guidance regarding tax returns In the entire duration of our contract, I've had less than 10 phone calls with their representatives. The only "service" provided was instructions to input data myself. Despite my significant financial investment, the service I received was severely substandard. Their negligence has resulted in an unexpected tax liability of nearly $10,000. Throughout our engagement, they provided nothing more than basic advice on tracking deductions - services far below what was promised and paid for.I am requesting a full refund of all payments made ($5,440) to rectify this situation.
