On August 24, 2022, *********** came to my moms apartment located in the Bronx to appraise some collectibles and miscellaneous items I was looking to possibly sell. My mom passed away 3 weeks prior and I was faced with having to empty out her place in a short period of time. Upon his arrival he looked through the apartment at all the items I had, furniture, vintage clothes, piano, dinnerware, etc. He only was interested in coins, jewelry, instruments, mainly coins and jewelry. The manner in which he handled the appraisal was most unprofessional. He rushed through the house. As I brought out the smaller items, he dumped everything on the table and began sorting through stuff like at a bargain basement sale. There was no care about handling anything. He did not tell me what anything was worth, just that what I had wasnt worth much but yet he would take it. I have a mental list which I have written everything down with the possible exclusion of one or two items. I have pictures of most everything he took. He paid me by check, his website said cash. The check cleared but, I called him on 8/26/2022 to get some of the items returned to me and he said he would check to see if his guys didnt sell. *** called several times as he has not returned my call. He does not have voicemail and I can leave a message. I've texted him and sent him pictures of the items and to date he has not returned may call. This is not how appraisers and antiques businesses do business. I was unaware of the deceit, and I was taken advantage of. He did not even have a scale to weigh the jewelry. He in my opinion had limited knowledge in many items especially vintage era. The issue is still unresolved.
