On 08/12/2025 I purchased an annual subscription to Chatbotapp Pro and an additional package for a total of $69.98 through this supplier. Since this purchase, I have been unable to access the service purchased, and the provider has no record or invoice of my purchase history. I have been unsuccessful at contacting either the seller or the provider. I highly suspect that there is some scamming going here, along with some poor customer service. I am pursuing additional routes of resolution through my credit card company as well. At this time, I highly recommend staying far away. To Whom It May Concern,I am writing to formally report a fraudulent charge associated with a chatbot application that deceptively presents itself in a way that leads users to believe it is affiliated with OpenAI's ChatGPT.On 10th August 2025, I was charged [Insert Amount and Currency(?****** + ?******)] via credit card for a service I did not knowingly subscribe to. The app in question uses a user interface, name, and marketing design that closely mimic OpenAIs ChatGPT, misleading usersmyself includedinto thinking it is the official service. It was only after the payment was processed that I realized it was an unaffiliated and third-party chatbot service.I attempted to contact the developer and the payment processor (Paddle) for a refund. However, my request was denied or ignored, despite the deceptive nature of the transaction and the lack of transparency in the subscription terms.This constitutes a misleading and unauthorized transaction, and I request that the charge be reversed and appropriate action be taken against the responsible party. Paddle is using deceptive advertising. The ad appears as a direct sign up for a subscription directly with a LLM like ******, Perplexity or ChatGPT. However it is not. It is a subscription to their Chatbot and you do not gain the advanced features of direct subscription. Its misleading on purpose and this should not be allowed.Initial Complaint

I bought ****** on 20 July 2025 and I did not know that the billing would show up as "Paddle.com" on my Discover card.I did not recognize the $150 charge from paddle.com on my Discover credit card and there was no contact number to call to find out what it was. I use the Discover cardmy business and over 50 charges per day go on that card and I did not immediately recognize the $150 charge from Paddle.com being the ****** subscription, so I disputed it off my card. On 26 July 2025, I saw an email from my ****** that explained paddle.com was the billing for my ****** account.I callled Discover to end the dispute on 26 July 2025 and I told them that I did recognize the charge after all and dropped the dispute. However, ****** cancelled the subscription on 28 July 2025 anyways.I am asking that my $150 be refunded on Discover card ending in **** as I did not get the subscription and had to use a different credit card (Mastercard Ending in ****) to pay for the ****** subscription. In effect, I have been charged twice for the same ****** subscription.Customer Answer

On 24/07/2025, I was misled to make the purchase. I paid the products. A couple of weeks later, I realized that was not for "openai" and it was actually for "***********". I still have no idea which I was directed to that payment page when I tried to upgrade my "openai" account. I tried so many methods logging into "openai" with different accounts as I thought I might have just used a wrong email address without gaining the paid service/product. Later on, I figured out that the product/service I purchased was not for "open AI". So I tried to contact Paddle.com but I could only talk to the *** Robot" and the problem could not be resolved from that. Therefore, I hereby make this complaint.Customer Answer

I was charged for something that I didn't sign up for. They charged me 2 days ago and I asked them for a refund because I don't use their program. I do my web security through the Geek squad. Complaint Summary:Paddle wrongly suspended my vendor account based on a repeated misclassification and is now using a false pretense to deny reinstatement.?Detailed Complaint Description:I am a U.S.-based software developer who used Paddle to sell a legal desktop application. On July 17, Paddle abruptly disabled my vendor account and access to my dashboard, with no prior notice. In their only response, they claimed my product enables infringement upon copyrights apparently because it includes the ability to burn CDs.This is a misrepresentation. CD burning is a legal function widely used for personal content and backups. My software does not facilitate piracy or infringe on any copyrights.Whats more, Paddle made this same accusation twice in the past, and after internal review both times, they admitted their error and reinstated my account. Now, without offering any review or explanation, they are using the same discredited rationale to permanently suspend me.Since then, I have received no response to multiple support inquiries. Ive asked at the very least for read-only dashboard access to retrieve essential business and tax records which has also been ignored. This has severely disrupted operations and caused financial and reputational harm.?Desired Resolution:I ask that:1.Paddle acknowledge they misclassified my software.2.Fully reinstate my account, including dashboard access.3.Communicate clearly and fairly before taking punitive action in the future.This pattern of behavior appears arbitrary and unjustified, and Im requesting assistance from the BBB in securing a resolution.Customer Answer

I went to renew my chat gpt description and I got redirected to paddle.coms sight for "chat bot" which uses the trade **** logo of chat gpt and similar UI to trick people into believing it is the correct website. I gave them my credit card info and lost 60 dollars for a fake and subpar service. Very frustrated by their customer service which is just a bot. I bought Paddle Chat GPT in May and have not used it because it won't let me log in. I've contacted Paddle, they allowed me to cancel the subscription but next year. It's not right that I have to pay for the whole year of service that doesn't work. I want a complete refund.Customer Answer

Chatbot app AI has fraudulently collected money from me for the last several months. They used deceptive advertising practices such as copying the Open AI logo associated with the legitimate company *******. They also make it extemely hard to cancel the account or ask for a refund. I am asking that the BBB pursue action against this company and warn others of its fraudulent practices. I would like to have the money that this fraudulent company took from me refunded to me.
