On 24 July 2023 received a pop up message on computer stating my computer has been hacked and I can not turn off computer, but to call the number on the screen. I spoke to Sam ****** and James ( *** *** ******** ****** *******) stating the cost of $499 to repair computer once they gained access and to fix it. I received a call back from them on 25 July 2023 asking if my computer was fixed, I stated it wasn't because I received another pop up message stating the same hacking information and to call the number to fix. The female stated they would call me back the next day. Once I figured it was a scam I called my bank to initiate a stop check payment on 25 July 2023. I have blocked then numbers they are calling me from. Now I'm going to have to pay to get my computer cleaned from any Malware and viruses they may placed on my system,Customer Answer

On Sunday, July 9, 2023, I was on my computer scrolling through bookmarks and clicked on a familiar website I use. A screen popped up with a voice saying "do not turn off your computer". It says it was from ********* and to call a number to have it fixed. I called the number. The person saying her name was Alice said my computer had been hacked from Ukraine and there were 30 illegal users using my ** address. They wanted $399 to fix it. I gave them access to my computer to fix it. I watched as they did some clicking, going in and out of screens. When they were done they said they would call the next day to see how my computer was working. I did not accept their call. They kept calling and calling, and left three voicemails. I did not send them a check. I found out they were a scam through ***** ******* ********** They said to send the check to ******* *** to a PO Box. They are QuickHelp 24*7. Alice's "*********" id ****. They gave me a support id. They put two icons on my desktop; Network Security and Firewall. The icons were malware.Business Response

On approximately 1/30/23, I received a pop up on my **** indicating that my device had been hacked and to call Quick Help at ************* When I called I spoke with Adam S**** at ext ****. Mr S**** asked me to agree to a number of things orally, which I did and told to send $380.00 USD to ******* *** and be sure to write on the it was for web services. Upon discovering that Quick Help is a scam, I did not send the check. Consequently, I am being bombed by phone (sometimes one a minute Robo caller ids contact as Known Scam I have not answered), text messages and emails stating they are going to send my case to collections team with call recording and at that point I will have to pay the penalty as well as through the license key for the the security which is installed on IP Address will be disabled and the problem will be much more frequent on all devices so to avoid to avoid legal fees call back a* ************. I have received contacts from this company relentlessly. One of the many messages I have received from Quick Help is attached. Also, since there may have been some sort of malware installed I may have to pay to have my device cleaned and need company to cover cost. Further, I am a senior citizen and suspect this scam is directed to the elderly.Business Response

In March I started receiving calls that I needed to call and either cancel or renew my service with them. If I did not my service would automatically renew for. 13900 dollars for a year..I ignored these calls as I have an invoice purchased in 9/22 for 1,804.99 cents for 3 year of service and support. In April I received a call from Max R***** assist manager of the company saying I needed to call and renew or cancel or I would automatically be renewed for $13900. I called 4/12 to cancel, was told they needed to access my computer, I refused. Again calls for Max R***** Saying this needed to be done. I called on Monday.4/17 asked for Max who was not there but Tiffany J**** could help me. Tiffany accessed my computer then proceed to tell me it would cost $4000,said did not have money . Negotiated more with me and to $2800 with a &200 service fee. I again said did not have the money. Tiffany said I could pay by check, proceed to instruct me how to write a check, then I could scan it to her. I was to mail the check to ******** ***** in St. Petersburg.FL..Who runs a business like that.. I should have been able to call and not renew my service, and hopefully they would have on honor my 3 year service for which I paid $1804.99 in 9/9/22. There should have been NO money involved! They did and ****** ****/ quickhelp 24/7 proceeded to gain access to their computer and install malware and viruses. They demanded that my parents send them a cheque for $399 USD to fix the problems. They have called and harassed them multiple times. My parents are now going to have to pay to have their computer cleaned. Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
My parents, through no fault of their own, have had to pay to have their computer scrubbed of the malicious software and malware installed by this company. This cost them $50 CDN and their time to transport it to and from the computer store. I personally spent 2 hours trying to debug the computer before we sent it to the professionals. They exploited my parent's faith in them representing ********* and tried to scam them in to paying $399 USD by cheque. I have read numerous reports of this company doing the same thing to other customers. Luckily I was able to stop the process before my parent's banking information was corrupted. This company needs to cease operation.

Today, October 7th, 2022; my computer displayed a message to contact ********* at ************** concerning my computer had been hacked so they could resolve this issue. When I contacted what I thought was *********, Adam S**** of Instant Live Helps answered the number I contacted. He proceeds to have me give access to my computer and then shows me where I had been hacked which I would not know anything about. After he scares me thoroughly, he says he can fix it. Then he tells me it is $400 which has to be a check. I tell him I don't have that kind of money on hand. He tells me that I have to send a check in the mail. At this point, I am felling a hostage now of his company and the hackers as well. He instructs me on where to sent the money and then proceeds to go into my email and composes an email to his company confirming that I will pay the $400 with me verbalizing that I will pay this money. After all is said and done, I had to contact Max and then talk to Shawn about me sending the money. When I reinstated that I did not have that kind of money, Shawn said I could postdate a check for a month and send to him. I feel just as violated by this company as I do the hackers. No where do they offer other solutions to your problem but to use their company and pay them. I ask the Better Business Bureau is this an ethical way to do business? I am contacting ********* as well about this situation. What am I supposed to do? I am living on Social Security and barely making ends meet.Business Response

In late April of 2022 my computer froze and to correct the issue I was directed by my computer to contact this company, Instant Live Help. This company also goes by the title ***** ******** ******* and ************. I was told they could fix the problem for a fee of $349. I accepted and sent them a check in this amount on May 1, 2022. The problem was fixed. I was instructed to make the check payable to ************. The invoice states "One Time Fixation" (attached). During the process of correcting the problem I was asked if I wanted to purchase any additional security from them due to potential hackers and I declined. At NO POINT during this interaction did the representative mention any future additional fees that I would be responsible for. I received a call yesterday, 8/10/22, from this company telling me that I owed them either $2200 for additional security that, according to them, I had authorized or $5800 for a lifetime of security. When I argued my position the person I was on the phone with, Max R***** (Head of Billing), reduced the charge to $1100 (attached). The company's position is that when I paid the initial $349 to fix the problem that I registered with their company. I do not agree with this logic. This company, Instant Live Help, is deceitful and misleading and I in no way feel I should be responsible for any more costs. I will not pay this additional cost until the BBB proceeds with an investigation into this company and their practices. I do feel as if I am a victim of fraud.Customer Answer
