02/27/2026 Simple Care Started work on my home after I paid an $800 [40%] deposit on a $2000 dollar quote. The quote stated I was to get all missing paint on exterior of home painted, get a vent hood of my choice over the oven in the kitchen installed, have all holes in sheet rock repaired and textured to match surrounding walls, repair a crack in the ceiling by taping, mudding, retaping, texturing, and painting entire ceiling to match repaired area with ceiling, providing and attaching baseboards to every area in home missing baseboards, and filling in all nail holes in walls in home. As soon as the work was started, I noticed they were not taping the crack in the ceiling and notified the owner that it was not being done according to what the quote said would happen. He assured me the work would be fine anyway. I then questioned why a hole in sheetrock behind baseboards was being repaired without removing the baseboard which was falling off anyway. This questioning made him angry. I also asked how his workers taking things from my fridge without asking was appropriate. He then refused to continue the work after not completing anything on the quote except the exterior paint that was missing, but charging me for 40% of the entirety of the work being completed. This was retaliatory for questioning the unprofessionalism of the workers and poor work quality/variation from quote promises. 40% of the work is not done, but I paid for 40%. I have pictures. His crew also left trash all over in the front and back yard of my property which I've saved in a trash bag and will not throw away in case he denies it is theirs for DNA testing.

    Simple Care LLC Response:
Simple Care LLC disputes the complaint as written and believes it contains multiple inaccuracies, misstatements of scope, and unsupported allegations.

Agreement / Scope: The customer approved a written scope of work totaling $2,000.55 (including tax) and paid an $800.22 deposit to schedule and begin work. This was a sale-ready / repair-only service intended to address limited items to improve presentation for listingnot a full renovation. The scope included exterior touch-up paint in affected areas only (no full-home repaint), specified drywall patch/texture/paint blending at patch areas only, a ceiling crack repair with repaint of the kitchen/living room ceiling, baseboard work as needed in listed areas, and installation of a customer-approved range hood vent connected to the existing vent chute to the attic (roof penetration excluded unless approved via written change order).

Timing / Mobilization: The customer requested an accelerated timeline and we mobilized on short notice to help meet their deadline. This required scheduling adjustments and immediate deployment of labor and materials.

Work Performed: We began performance, including exterior paint preparation and touch-up application at affected areas, and interior preparation/patch-related work as stated, along with measurements/cutting/prep/staging activities for all baseboards. progress was also made towards remaining scope items, with some being completed as described.

Scope Disputes / Attempted Free Extras: During the project, the customer requested additional work and/or expanded interpretations beyond the approved scope and disputed scope limitations (for example, treating repair-only touch-ups as if a larger repaint or broader work was included). Any scope additions require a written change order; we did not agree to perform additional work for free.

Communication / Conduct / Job Termination: We routinely address punch-list items when communicated clearly and respectfully. In this situation, communications escalated rapidly without being given the chance to effectively solve the complaints. The customer posted negative and harmful public reviews on two separate occasions, one of which being before work ever even started or was aggreed to. also during the project and sent a high volume of messages and calls, including after being notified in writing that we would not return. Specifically, after our written notice ending work due to the breakdown in working relationship, the customer sent 21 messages in approximately 48 hours; prior to that, there were 11 messages, multiple calls, and a recorded message. The nature and volume of communications, combined with repeated accusations and threats of reporting/legal action, created an environment our team has/had felt harassed and uncomfortable in dealings with the  customer.
We attempted to speak directly with the customer to de-escalate and address concerns in person; however, resolution efforts were not productive and the working relationship continued to deteriorate. The customer continued to change subject, speaking on unrelated matters such as paying off the home, some matters with the state, saying we are discriminating against her etc etc. our communications towards solving issue went unheard.

Deposit Application: The deposit was applied toward work performed and job-related scheduling/administrative costs already incurred. This is not an unauthorized charge; it is a dispute about satisfaction and scope after work began. the customer has since filed a dispute/chargeback with the credit card company.

Resolution: We would have been open to arranging a credit amount back to the customer, as we are sincere in our efforts. however, since the customer, before ever asking for a refund, but after submitting this complaint, has submitted a chargeback / credit card dispute. This means it is now impossible for us to offer a refund or credit as a solution. This false chargeback negatively impacts our businesses ability to accept online forms of payment, which could prove very harmful. We truly wish the best for the customer and the sale of the home, however, the customer has left us in an unfortunate position, and we are now unable to offer any further help.

I am rejecting this response because:

This guy is lying about a lot. I never requested any work for free. I requested they do the work the way they quote said they would do the work. I also asked REMOVEDhow much extra it would be for him to make the shower spray the correct way. I asked him how much extra he would charge for that. He did not answer me.

They did not complete 800 dollars worth of work.  I have the quote in its entirety, and can provide endless photos of what they did not complete and the way they trashed the interior and exterior of my home.

I played Minecraft for about 21/2 hours while they were here, and I listened to animals by pink REMOVED. I immediately notified the owner I was not happy about specifically the way the crack in thd ceiling was being repaired. Then, I got upset because they sprayed texture all over my entire living room and kitchen.  It was on every piece of furniture and every kitchen appliance, and in my carpet in another room. I started cleaning up my furniture,  carpet, and appliances because they were only cleaning the texture off of the floor. I then let REMOVEDknow I was not happy about cleaning texture out of my carpet. He then started ignoring me. He came to check in with the guys and they all pretty much went outside for the rest of the time. REMOVEDonly watched one guy for about 30 minutes and left again. One guy inside my house cut 2 small squares of sheetrock and was the last one leaving.

REMOVEDis upset because I complained that they were not doing quality wofk I never expected a single thing for free and asked him how much fixing that shower thing out be. Like I said, he ignored me.

I was crying for about half of the time they were at my house while I was listening to pink REMOVED, because I always upset by what I was seeing in the quality of the work and it was going to be very expensive and I could tell they were REMOVEDand did not really care how it turned out. I didn't cry at them, I just sat at my computer and cried while trying to make the music distract me. REMOVEDlied directly to my face about something I said to, trying to gaslight me so I'm not surprised he is lying to you. His workers put my caulk gun with their supplies when they went to lunch. I figured thru probably thought it was theirs because it had do much old caulk and stuff caked on it but I didn't want them to take it with them because it was mine, so I took it back and put it where they wouldn't pick if up again. I told REMOVEDthat I took it back in case the one who moved it there thought it was theirs and looked for it later. He turned around later and said j accused them of stealing it! He was trying to convince my I MYSELF said something different than what I said. They were trying to get out of the job the entire time. I heard them questioning why they were painting the ceiling and start complaining about how that wasn't needed.  Another one was asking if they were texturing and painting the patch spots and the one he asked said "no, just putting sheetrock". They never had ANY intention of completing what they quoted me. I was listening.

    Regards,

    REMOVED

    Business Response

    Simple Care LLC Response:

We appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns, and we truly understand how important it is to feel confident and comfortable with work being done in your home. Your satisfaction matters to us, and we want to address your complaint with both clarity and care.

First, we want to assure you that protecting your property was a priority from the very beginning of the project. Before any work was started, our team carefully covered your furniture to prevent any damage. We have photo documentation that clearly shows these precautions were taken.

We also made every effort to accommodate your timeline. We understood that you were working within a deadline, and we took that into consideration by scheduling your project as quickly as possible. Our team prioritized getting you on the schedule right away so that the work could be completed within your required timeframe.

Throughout the project, we maintained open and direct communication. Whenever you expressed uncertainty or had questions about the work being performed, we took the time to speak with youeither in person or over the phoneto thoroughly explain the process, the steps involved, and how the work would be completed according to your requests. Our goal was to ensure you felt informed and comfortable at every stage.

In addition, we made continuous efforts to work with you, provide reassurance, and de-escalate any concerns as they arose. Our intent at all times was to resolve issues constructively and maintain a positive working relationship. However, during these interactions, conversations frequently shifted to matters unrelated to the scope of work, including personal and external issues, as well as accusations such as claims of discrimination. Despite our attempts to refocus on resolving the project-related concerns, our communications aimed at addressing the work itself often went unheard.

We also experienced a high volume of repeated communications, including ongoing accusations and threats of reporting or legal action. This created an environment in which our team felt increasingly uncomfortable and, at times, harassed in the course of attempting to complete and support the project professionally.

Regarding payment, the deposit collected was applied toward work that had already been performed, as well as scheduling and administrative costs incurred in good faith. This was not an unauthorized charge, but rather a dispute regarding satisfaction and scope after work had already begun.

While we are confident that our team acted appropriately and followed proper procedures throughout the project, we do regret that you are feeling dissatisfied. We truly wish you the best with your home and its sale. However, given the circumstances, we have been left in an unfortunate position and are no longer able to offer further assistance on this matter.

I am rejecting this response because:
You covered everything and took those pictures  AFTER you sprayed texture all over the entire kitchen and dining room and I complained to you about it. Your guys half cleaned it up, left for lunch and let me clean up the rest for the hour and a half you were at lunch.

You took these photos with this stuff covered BECAUSE I COMPLAINED ABOUT THE MESS YOU MADE. This was staged! Every photo you took was STAGED after complaints I made. Can you please just be an honest and decent person, please? I've never met someone so conniving.

    Regards,
