ETS was notified by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) that you submitted a complaint regarding your November 20, 2023, ***** iBT examination.
We are sorry to learn you were unable to complete your test as scheduled. A report from your testing session confirms that you could not complete your examination due to inadequate bandwidth speeds and limited CPU usage with the computer you attempted to test with.
Given your concerns, we reviewed your system measurements, which are periodically taken when a candidate tests. In reviewing the technical details of your November 20, 2023, examination, we determined that your system's RAM usage was measured as high as 100%, with multiple measurements above 85%. As stated within the equipment and environment requirements for the ***** website, the minimum CPU requirements are to have less than 85% Usage.
Candidates are responsible for ensuring that their equipment meets and exceeds the recommended technical requirements needed for the at-home ***** iBT examination to run correctly.Unfortunately, your network and equipment did not meet these technical specifications. Despite troubleshooting efforts by your ******* and technical support representatives, your examination could not run on the equipment that you were attempting to test with.
Regrettably, we are unable to comply with your request for a free makeup test. While ETS provides candidates with information on equipment requirements and tools to ensure compliance, each candidate is ultimately responsible for ensuring that their equipment and network surpass the technical specifications required for at-home testing. As stated on the ***** website at ***********************************************************************************************, candidates failing to meet these requirements will be unable to test, and they will not receive a refund or a free reschedule.

It has been over 12 days since the examination, and I am yet to receive my score report. Additionally, I have not received any communication about the review of my scores. This delay is causing significant distress as I am in the process of applying for graduate programs, all of which require my GRE scores, and the application deadlines for each program are fast approaching (The deadline is January 3rd of my application). During the exam, I meticulously adhered to all the guidelines provided on the ETS website and followed the instructions of the ProctorU administrator carefully. The people who took the test with me have already given their results.On the 10th day, I anxiously sent an email for consultation and contacted the ETS official by phone. Unfortunately, I was told that I could only wait silently. I was not told why my scores were suspended, nor was there any way to expedite the delivery of my scores. I took the ***** Internet-Based Test, which is is the official offline certification test site of ETS *****.The exam must pass a security check and be supervised by an official ******* using uniform computer equipment provided by ETS. So ETS had no good reason to suspend my scores for nearly two weeks, and they are still suspended! And ************** told me that my test was under administrative review. However, my exams were conducted with absolute integrity, and under the guidance of the invigilator, I passed all the exams without violating any exam rules. Hello, I am filing this complaint on behalf of my friend, ***************************. She had an appointment for ***** exam on November 20 but a technical issue prevented her from accessing the test. The ******** spent 5 hours checking her computer but were unable to determine the reason why they couldnt give her access to the test. ******* ran the Remote Vendor Equipment Check and the ETS Secure Browser before the exam, which confirmed that her computer was fully compliant and the internet connection was good. When ******** couldnt provide access to the exam, they never mentioned what the issue was. When ******* asked what the problem was, she got redirected to another *******, then another one. The third ******* suggested rebooting the computer. ******* did that. The *** Secure Browser yet again showed that that everything was fine but the ******** were still unable to give her access to the exam. When ******* contacted the ***** program, the response stated that she had a connectivity issue and thus her internet didnt meet the requirements. The ***** program declined ******** request for compensation or rescheduling of the exam. 1. Adelinas computer and internet passed every check multiple times, both before and during the appointment 2. There was no connectivity issue in communicating with the ********. They had full remote access to her computer - when they used the internet, all sites were successfully instantly accessed 3. None of the ******** referenced a connectivity issue ******* explained all of the above but did not receive a response from the ***** program. I am rejecting this response because:I have been noticed by *** of ETS on January 4th that my TOEFL test scores on December 17th, 2023 have been canceled, because the *** told me that my writing response(s) contains ideas, language and/or examples found in other test taker responses or from published sources.
I took this test offline, and I am sure that I finished my writing task on my own and without any reference to other test takers answers. I finished my test without any violation of the regulations and rules of ETS. The *** did not provide me with evidence that my answer was repeated, and they had no reason to cancel my score. These test scores are very important to me. I need them to complete my application. Please provide proof that I did not do it independently, or release my test scores!

Dear BBB/ETS officers: My name is jinyong ****. I have serious concern about the review status of my GRE scores. My date of birth is 28th of Oct, ****, ETS ID is ********, email address is ******************* and Test Appointment number is **************** I took the test on December 16, 2023 11:20AM (GMT+8). It has already been 12 days after I took the exam and the score is still under review and unavailable. However, the deadline of some of my applications to graduate schools are approaching, especially the one on January 5. The delay in reporting my GRE score really depressed me. If ETS continues to delay my score report, I will be strongly affected and lose a very important chance of admission. The ETS official website stated that the score will be reported to the school the test taker applied for within 15 days. I have called ETS and sent email to contact relevant departments, but I have not received a clear reply about when the review process will end, nor can I find the analyst responsible for my case. It is unjust for the test taker like me, who spent tons of time studying and carefully adhered to all the testing rules and regulations, to suffer the delay of GRE scores for no specific reason. I studied for over 4 hours at night after work in the weekdays and more than 6hours in the weekends for months. There isnt any misbehavior while I was preparing and taking the GRE test. GRE score is an important indicator of graduate school admissions. I hope that ETS OTI department can prioritize my case and inform me the email address of the analyst who is in charge of my score review case. I waited for 15 days, and then I found that my score status changed to on hold. But I didn’t receive any notification. The people who took the test with me already have their results released. I feel quite nervous anxious. I have consulted the ETS official website, and they told me that my test was under administrative review.
I recalled the whole process of the exam, I was very concentrated and focused, my eyes were always glued to the screen, and I promise that I didn’t do anything illegal! Therefore, I have no idea why my score was on hold.
Meanwhile, I have spent almost all of my spare time in this test because of its difficulty. This score is very important for my further study in English-speaking countries. Because of my tight application schedule, I don’t have any time to retake the test, and this is my only chance!
