On May 12, 2025, while taking a test at a Praxis center in ************, I observed another test taker repeatedly punching the wall, creating an unsuitable testing environment. I immediately reported the incident to the test managers, and although they acknowledged my concerns, I was advised to contact ETS for further action. After reaching out to both ETS and the Praxis staff, I was informed that I would receive a response once the incident had been fully investigated. However, as of June 23, 2025, I have yet to receive any follow-up or resolution regarding the matter.

      Dear ***** *******,

ETS has been notified by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) that you submitted a complaint regarding of your May 11, 2025, Praxis Health and ******************* Content Knowledge (5857) examination.

We are sorry that you felt dissatisfied with the circumstances under which you tested, and we regret any anxiety this may have caused you.Educational Testing Service (ETS) strives to offer tests under conditions that enable our test takers to do their best. We depend on our test administrators to provide the best possible environment for the examinees that test at their centers and to adhere to our standard testing procedures and requirements.

Having multiple test takers in the same room is considered to be within the normal parameters of a standard testing environment. Furthermore, test center administrators take great care to provide the best possible environment for the examinees and to follow our standard procedures. While test center administrators are mindful of maintaining a proper environment, certain responsibilities may require them to verbally communicate with candidates or amongst themselves. Unfortunately, with this type of exam, a certain level of background noise is to be expected when other test takers are in the room simultaneously.

We can understand your frustration. Prior to the start of the examination, we suggest to candidates that if they feel they may be distracted by other candidates, they strongly consider wearing their headphones throughout the entire testing session. Please note that the exam is administered in a group setting, and headphones are distributed to minimize noise distraction.Additionally, test centers have been equipped with earplugs upon request.

Additionally, we were unable to locate an incident report filed at the test center regarding the concerns you described. If you were experiencing difficulties during your testing session, this should have been brought to the attention of the test administrator immediately. A team is always available at the test centers to assist with any unforeseen challenges during the delivery of the Praxis exam. However, the issue must be reported at the time of the occurrence for immediate remediation.

Thank you for granting us the opportunity to provide clarification regarding your complaint with the Better Business Bureau. We wish you continued success in your professional endeavors.

Background of the Incident On June 15 2025, I took the GRE exam (Registration Number: ****************,Birthday: ****/**/**). On *************,, I received a notification from ETS stating that my score was canceled due to "your Writing response did not reflect the assigned task, or it contained ideas, language and/or examples found in published sources or other test takers responses." without providing any substantive evidence. I have repeatedly requested clarification and evidence from ETS via email, but received no response . I would like to solemnly declare:Firstly ,I have absolutely not cheated or attempted to violate the GRE test rules in any form. I have the highest commitment to academic integrity and fully understand the importance of adhering to the test policies. Additionally,The occurrence of the above situation was completely beyond my control and was an isolated and unforeseeable event. I have made every effort to ensure compliance with the test requirements before the exam. Moreover,I understand that my score was cancelled based on system flags or ******* observations, but I believe these flags or observations were misjudgments and not due to any misconduct. Last but not least, As my application deadline for the *********************** is June 30, 2025, the absence of this score will have a significant negative impact on my application, likely resulting in my loss of admission eligibility. I request that the decision to cancel my score be revoked and my original GRE score be restored.

This is a testing facility. The teachers have to use for people who want to be teachers have to use in order to be a teacher and they have so many problems with their at home testing if your camera doesnt work or we cant hear you and then they dont refund you back. Youjust leave the money and have to repay when you take it again in 28 days or whatever it is even if you dont take the test, you have to wait 28 days and pay again and its not cheap to take these test its like aanywhere for $130-$150 for each test and most the time you have to take three or four to become a teacher I think its ridiculous and they should refund the money if you dont even take the test or reschedule you to take the test one other

      Dear Melinda A Drumm,

ETS was notified by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) that you
submitted a complaint regarding your April 27, 2025, Praxis Core Academic
      Skills for Educators: Reading (5713).

We are sorry to learn that you were unable to start your test as
scheduled. As outlined on the Praxis website at https://praxis.ets.org/test-takers/at-home-test-equipment.html
At home test equipment - Educational Testing Service
Prepare For The SLP Test. Study at your own pace with 6-month
access to the SLP online course. Created by the makers of the Praxis test, this
course is the most reliable test prep.
      praxis.ets.org
, test takers are instructed to run a final equipment check and
resolve any technical issues prior to checking in for their exam. All such
issues must be addressed before the scheduled appointment time. It is the test
taker's responsibility to ensure a stable internet connection, functional
camera and microphone, and sufficient memory on their computer in order to
      successfully complete the Praxis test.

We recommend that candidates download the secure browser in
advance of their test time and use it to perform a full system check to confirm
that their equipment meets all required technical specifications.

After thoroughly investigating your case, our records show that at
the start of the test session, the device you initially used failed the
required system checks within the browser, even after multiple troubleshooting
steps were attempted by the proctor. Unfortunately, passing these checks is
mandatory in order to proceed with the test.

Subsequently, when you attempted to connect using a different
device, the camera feed remained blurred. Please note that a clear and stable
video connection with the proctor is essential throughout the exam, in
compliance with Praxis's integrity and security protocols. Since this
requirement could not be met, the session could not continue.

Because the equipment you used did not meet the technical
requirements specified on the Praxis website, we are unable to offer a refund
      or a free reschedule.

To take the exam again, you will need to register and pay the full
test fee. Please note that you do not need to wait 28 days after your original
test date to retake this particular exam. If you wish to schedule a new
appointment sooner, our Praxis Customer Service team is available to assist you
      with registration within that timeframe.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to address your concerns
submitted through the Better Business Bureau. We wish you all the best in your
      future professional endeavors.

I want to file a complaint against ETS for fraud.
On May 25, 2025, I took the TOEFL exam. However, my scores were later cancelled. I received an email from your office stating that my writing response included examples that were similar to those used by other test takers. In many japan schools, teachers introduce commonly used examples during TOEFL writing preparation to help students improve.

On May 30, I spoke with an ETS representative over the phone. The representative told me that he understood this issue is common among students from China, Japan, and Korea when learning English. He apologized for the situation and advised me to register for another TOEFL test.

Following his advice, I registered for the June 3 TOEFL exam. I assure you that for the June 3 exam, I did not use any examples taught by my teacher. My essay was entirely original and written solely by me. However, my score was again cancelled for the same reason — alleged similarity of my writing content to that of others. This repeated cancellation, without any concrete evidence provided, has affected my ability to meet university application deadlines.

On June 11, I called ETS again and was told by another representative that he was sorry and once again advised me to register for yet another test.
I am not only a student — I am also a consumer. Canceling my scores multiple times without any clear evidence, and repeatedly asking me to register for new tests, constitutes deceptive business practice and violates my rights as a consumer.

I hereby formally request ETS to re-evaluate my test responses. If my essays truly contain content that overlaps with those of other test takers, please provide clear and specific evidence of such similarities.

I look forward to your prompt response and a fair resolution to this matter.

I, ***** ******, born on ***************, took the GRE General At-Home Test on June 6, 2025. I strictly adhered to all test regulations throughout the exam, completed it independently, and properly handled the whiteboard content, which was inspected and approved by the *******. However, nine days after the exam, my score was cancelled without any reason, explanation, or prior notice.?Previously, during another GRE test, the system crashed. When I tried to log back in, I was informed that the exam had ended. After appealing to ETS, all I got was a response to reschedule the test 21 days later, with no compensation at all. This already severely disrupted my graduate school application process. Now, facing another baseless score cancellation, I find it completely unacceptable.?ETS charges a high fee of $220 for the exam but fails to ensure a smooth testing experience and arbitrarily cancels scores, which is a blatant violation of test-takers' rights. I strongly demand that ETS immediately review and reinstate my exam score. If this affects my graduate school application, I will take legal action, seeking compensation for the exam fees, mental distress, opportunity costs, and time costs, and will keep appealing to safeguard my legitimate rights.

Hello,I received information from ***** ******** that my December 2023 PRAXIS scores would not be accepted due to review from the office of Integrity. He informed me that I was made aware of this issue when I took the test in 2023. I searched my emails and cannot find any information from ETS in my inbox that states the exam was not accepted nor any information from the office of integrity. I cannot think of a reason my exam would not be accepted and I feel blindsided and would like to talk with a representative on the phone to discuss this further. **********

      Complaint to ETS

During the exam on April 20, 2025, the invigilator's technical issue forced the exam to be shut down, resulting in the waste of money and time. After the second exam on April 28, 2025, I received an unjustified cancellation of my score, again due to their technical problem. I have sent over sixty appeal emails to them, providing evidence of my innocence, but they have never accepted or responded. My university application deadline was this morning, and I have lost my chance to study abroad.

Now I am filing a complaint with this department and demanding the restoration of my score from the exam on April 28.

I am writing to formally file a complaint against the Educational Testing Service (ETS) regarding the unjust cancellation of my GRE test score without any prior notification, explanation, or opportunity to respond.

I took the GRE exam in good faith and completed it successfully. Throughout the entire testing process, I conducted myself with utmost integrity and seriousness. The proctor did not issue any warning or express any concern during the session, which I take as an acknowledgment that the test proceeded without incident. Furthermore, my computer passed all the required security checks, and there were no technical or behavioral irregularities reported during the test.

Despite all this, ETS proceeded to cancel my test score without notifying me in advance or offering any explanation. I only discovered the cancellation when I checked my account online. I find this action to be extremely unfair and unacceptable, as it completely disregards the time, effort, and preparation I invested in this examination.

If ETS insists on canceling my score, I request that they provide detailed evidence indicating the exact time, activity, or behavior that triggered their suspicion. Moreover, I believe I am entitled to an opportunity to explain or clarify the situation before such a severe decision is finalized.

I respectfully ask BBB to assist me in seeking a fair resolution to this matter. At the very least, I deserve a transparent explanation and a chance to defend myself against any unsubstantiated allegations.

      Thank you for your attention.

On June 6th, I was scheduled to take the Praxis 5113 (Music: Content Knowledge) exam at home. However, I faced numerous technical issues, and despite multiple attempts, multiple calls to customer service, and even relocating to different locations, nothing resolved the problem. On June 6th, I was told that ETS would look into the issue and email me information on any updates regarding the case.

I received an email today (June 10th) stating that the Office of Testing Integrity took the case so I called them but after explaining the issue, they told me that I need to speak with ETS instead and got transferred back to talk to ETS. When I talked to ETS, they told me that I canceled the scores and I explained that I was unable to get into the test and that I did not cancel it. After holding for a few minutes, I was informed that they would look into the problem and that someone would update me in 7 to 10 business days (which, in my opinion, is unnecessary).

I am very unsatisfied because I am currently very behind on taking this test, financially strained to spend more money on the test, and confused about why I am being given the run-around when I checked my computer, Wifi, and software multiple times and days before the test.

I need this issue solved quickly.
