Dear officer at BBB, My name is *****, and I took a GRE general test offered by the ETS last month, Sep.17th, and my official score report was still not available yet. The ETS claims that our official report will be published after ***** days after the exam. I contact their test integrity center on the 15th day and ask why my score is not available and if it is possible to know when it will be published. Unfortunately, I didn't get my question answered, and they just ask me to wait for another couple of weeks. I, later on, received an email sent by ETS saying that my score is under review and should be available after about a month after the exam, which should be around Oct.17th. However on that day, I contacted the test integrity center again, and they still ask me to wait for 2 more weeks rather than provide me with useful information. The long wait and no clear response are really unacceptable and this had already generated losses. I am so rushed about the score report since I am going to need it for the fall2023 *********** application and some of my deadlines are already passed because of this unreasonable delay. I can no longer apply to the **** of the ************************** because its deadline is Nov.1st, which ends in 5 days. I have all my other materials ready and if I cannot have my GRE score available in time, I can no longer apply to my dream school, which will be a loss and regret of my entire life. And during this long time of waiting, ETS never provide useful information and only ask me to wait and wait. I cannot wait any longer to have my score. Please let them finish my review asap, that will be really helpful. And for your convenience here are some of my ETS information. ETSid: 4RFB5B7G test date: Sep.17th 2022 appointment#: **************** Please look into this and if it is ok, give me a call at ********** or send an email to ************** Thank you so much !!!Best,*****Business Response

I was calling on phone and contacting through ******** I was able to finally get ahold of an analyst assigned with my case. I was contacting him about all the situation and urged him for score to be released as soon as possible because the deadline for grad programs are almost due. I believe there was no oddity during the whole exam period except for being 5 seconds away from the screen to retrieve my laptop charger, which was also approved by the *******. I have been waiting for almost 50 days and there has never been even a short update unless I make a call that requires 2-hour waiting time, making me anxious day by day to an extreme degree. I took my GRE test on October 1st, but my score is still on hold after four weeks. I have called ETS daily, but the response from the representatives that I have received is to wait and that they do not have any information regarding my test. I understand that the review process takes time, but it has been nearly one month since my exam. I intend not to complain as I recognize that ETS is busy with review cases. Im simply raising this complaint with the intention of reaching a faster resolution as my application deadlines are fast approaching. The application deadlines for my schools are around the corner, and I have already missed the deadline for three programs I was planning to apply to. I cant wait for the score any longer without knowing exactly how much longer the decision will take. The longer the review process takes, the more significant the negative impact it brings. I hope ETS can finalize my review case as soon as possible. It has been four weeks since the test day, so I hope to receive a decision as quickly as possible. Im happy to speak with anyone from ETS to provide any further information needed. Thank you for the assistance. My ETS ID: ******** Test date: October 1stBusiness Response

I registered for the School Leadership exam for "at-home" testing for September 30, 2022 at 10:30 am. I completed all of the computer pre-checks to ensure it would run on my device. ********************** day comes, I am logged in early and waiting to take my exam that I paid $425 to take. It was after it began that I was instructed to go into my settings and make changes so that ProctorU could screen share. However, I was using a work computer that didn't allow me to make changes without an administrator username and password. My regular computer login did not work. ProctorU representative was not listening to my concerns and kept telling me to put my credentials in. I also had my personal Ipad, but was told I couldn't use that either. Then they told me there is nothing else they could do and to save the conversation. I tried calling, I could not get in touch with a human. I sent an email as my only option-I had to wait the full 14 days to get an emotionless, uncaring response, simply stating there was nothing else they could do, and I needed to pay again, $425 to reregister, and that I should have reviewed the computer system requirements. No where on their computer system requirement did it say I needed the administrator credentials to the computer. So now I'm having to pay $850 for one single test that I simply cannot afford.Business Response

Dear *********************,
We were notified by the Better Business Bureau (BBB)regarding your experience with your recent test admin. A full investigation was launched, and it is determined that your precheck activity failed on test day, and in addition, you did not have administrative rights to the computer chosen to complete the test administration.
Test takers may complete their test admin either at home or at a local test center. To test at home, there are restrictions that must be adhered to in order to ensure a successful delivery. The precheck activity will check the Camera, Microphone, and RAM usage. This RAM exceeded the 95 percent maximum allowable space necessary to complete the exam. The third-party entity also discovered that your computer firewalls and other security features on the computer you were using blocked the required testing software, and as a result, the test could not be launched.
Test takers are notified in the At-Home testing technology requirements that computer firewalls and other security applications can interfere with the test delivery software, and test takers may need to disable or reconfigure their applications prior to testing. Test takers who are unable to test due to equipment issues or failure to meet the equipment and environment requirements forfeit the test fees and will be responsible for the new appointment. This policy is explained in the Praxis information Bulletin.
In light of the issue, we are forwarding your inquiry to the department for further review to determine if anything else can be done to further assist you. We wish you the best in your professional endeavors.

I mailed in my financial waiver to take my GRE test at the start of September. I have not heard anything back about that. Each time *** contacted them to make sure they got the documents they tell me they cant tell me if or if not the documents were received. I need to know because I can barely afford to pay for my GRE with the waiver. I keep getting conflicting answers from the people who work at ETS I also have noticed when it comes to issues of this nature they require a phone call to remove the paper trail. This is how they refused my accommodations in 2020. This company is careful to not leave any records behind. With the price increase coming up I also feel like I have not been contacted about my waiver with malicious intent. They are doing it purposefully and waiting to deny me until after the price increase. Once when I called the agent told me the people who do the financial waivers were in a different department and they did not have a communication method with them. When I email them for help they copy and paste and send generic answers that dont solve the problem. I once asked to speak to a manager and got hung up on. The agents who work here also randomly hang up on people. If this test was not required by graduate schools I would not work with this company they need to be investigatedBusiness Response

I took the reading and writing sections of the ets praxis exam on 10/15/22 at 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM at *******************. During both tests, one of the ******** had a service dog in training during both of the tests. Rather than leaving the room and having the other two ******** take over, this particular ******* stayed. The small dog would cry and growl multiple times throughout the course of both exams, causing a major distraction to myself and other test takers. It was very difficult to concentrate on both exams (that are necessary for my career) while this ******* kept the small dog crying and growling in the testing room.Business Response

I'm writing this in relation to the GRE exam I took on September 17, 2022 (ets.org) at home. For computer-delivered exams, results are typically accessible in 10 to 15 days. However, it is now October 14th, 2022, 27 days after the exam, and I still haven't received my test results. I've written to ETS a few times, but they haven't responded. Although I'm attempting to be patient, my college application deadlines are drawing near, and I'm at a loss because my GRE score isn't yet accessible. The worst customer ********************** I've ever received was from ETS. At the very least, some tracker should allow me to monitor the status of my assessment, or at the very least, it should state that it will take ** time to deliver the score. Many students, it appears, are having the same problem, and some of them have already missed their application deadlines. We pay about $213 to take the test on the most well-known platform available worldwide, but what good is it if the results are not made available promptly? I request ETS team to please provide the score as soon as possible.Below are my test details : Name: ************************* Address: 775 A *************************************************************************************** Date of Birth: January 16,1994 Test Date: September 17, 2022 Registration number: ******* ETS ID Number: ******** Telephone Number: **************Business Response

Hello, I attempted to take two Praxis exams today,10/10/2022 **** PLT: Grades K-6 ****: Teaching Principles of Reading My information: Name: ************************************ Email on account: *************************** I logged in for my first test at 9:00am, 10 minuets prior to the start time of my test. I passed the environment check, the computer check, and completed the ** and face scan. My ******* went to launch the ETS browser. Once the browser had been launched, he put in my ** and password. At this time the app crashed with the following error message: "unify system shutdown." My ******* then attempted to restart the applet. When he plugged my name and passcode in again the system repeated the same error message. I then called the support desk at ProctorU and they were able to get in touch with the *******. The support test told me that the issue was on the end of ETS and that I needed to call ETS for support. After calling ETS they told me that they are unable to open reschedule or even look at what happened to an exam outside of ProctorU. I was assured by your representative that this was likely a single instance error and that I should just go ahead and log into my test at 12pm. At 12:00pm I logged into ProctorU again. The same series of events happened. I passed the environment check, the computer check, and completed the ** and face scan. My ******* went to launch the ETS browser. Once the browser had been launched, he put in my ** and password. At this time the app crashed with the following error message: "unify system shutdown." The ******* was as confused as I was and told me to take a screenshot to send to ETS. There was no security to breach, the test had not started yet. He said he had never seen an error message like that and to get in contact with you as soon as possible. So, I then called you. I sat on hold for almost 2 hours with no response. I left a voicemail detailing the same thing I have here.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:Your ETS support person emailed me a letter saying that the issue was that some software was running in the background of my computer. While I understand that you must maintain security procedure and you must keep your test secure but I wasted money on two tests without being told what was running. I did my due diligence by contacting support and your support people were unable to help me correct the issue. There is no way for me to successfully retake this test if I am not made aware of what specifically was running. Additionally, at the very least my second test should be refunded because I was assured by YOUR support people (not PrortcorU) that my computer should be ok to run.
At no point have you or your support staff been able to tell me what was running or how to have avoided that. Additionally, there would be no way for me moving forward to avoid this since I still have not been told what is running. I have tried contacting your support via email and phone. No one has been able to give me a straight answer. It is starting to feel like I was scammed out of 300 dollars.

Dear ************************************,
We were notified by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) that you rejected our response to your inquiry.
We must strictly enforce the policies and procedures we have in place as test security is very important to the Praxis program. As indicated on the Praxis Tests at Home website, test takers are to follow all testing rules including you must disable any screen-sharing or remote-access software prior to testing otherwise, scores are cancelled without a refund. Please familiarize yourself with test procedures before taking any other tests administered by ETS and ensure you dont have any unauthorized software running on your device. Violation of test procedures may result in score cancellation, and repeated violations may result in your exclusion from future testing.
Thank you

I am rejecting this response because:
While I understand that you have testing procedures to follow it simply does not make sense that you cant disclose to me what on my specific computer was the issue. I have brought my computer to my works IT department and they cleared that there is no sharing software on the computer. I have not changed the computer since I sat to take that exam, which I never actually got to take so I would like some kind of proof that there was something wrong with the computer. Not once as ETS offered any kind of documentation that there was a problem with the computer or what said problem was.
Moreover, I understand that Praxis does not offer technical support but if this is a known error message and issue when I called Praxis the first time on the day of my test, someone should have been able to tell me that this was an issue.I have emailed your representative again. The issue with this response is that it is 1)extremely vague 2) fails to respond to the actual issue presented and 3) doesnt offer any kind of resolution.

I took the GRE test on Sep 21st at a Testing Center in **********, ************** (appointment number: ****************). I didn't see my official score after 15 days and didn't receive any email about it. After I call the ETS, they said my score in under administrator review and they can't give me details of why my score in under review and ask me to call back after two weeks. I'm quite confused about why it is being reviewed cuz I went to a test centre, pass all security checks, and took the test under several CCTVs and followed the exam rule during the whole process. I'm quite nervous cuz my master's application is approaching the deadline and I still don't know the details of why my score is being reviewed and the expected day of my score release day. It already delays my master's application and I need this score as soon as possible.Business Response

I took the **** Social studies tests on September 10, 2022, number ********. I went through the study guide and did quite well on the practice tests. However, the real test was super heavily skewed towards economics and math and not balanced with World civ and American history. I believe the test is not a good representation.I have not seen my score. But if I fail, I expect to retake the test at no cost to me. (free).Secondly, I was told prior to the test and by the ******* during the test, that I would receive my score by US mail within 10 days. Your agents at praxis told me later it will be October 14. Dear *************************,
We were notified by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) of your concerns regarding your purchased study material to contact us about our study material. The study material available is based on the need for the required test. The study guide cannot serve as a substitute for subject matter course work; it is designed to help test takers review the material that will be assessed on the test. Please keep in mind that there are hundreds of different question types that can be used to cover a particular topic, and the Study Guide can only provide a few sample or representative questions in each content area. It is not unusual to find items on the test that were not mentioned in the study guide.
Also,we cannot guarantee that mastery of the practice test questions will be, in itself, sufficient to answer related questions that might appear in the actual test. Try not to rely heavily on practice questions to prepare yourself for the test. Instead, we recommend that test takers prepare by reviewing not only the study companion and practice test questions, but textbooks and other reliable content resources that can help you strengthen your knowledge of the content assessed on the test. Doing so helps to ensure that you have a thorough grounding in the concepts covered on the test so that you can respond effectively to both the questions posed in the study materials and any related questions that *** be asked on the actual test. To prepare for your exam, it might be helpful to review the topics covered under each of the content categories, which are described in the Study Companion (available at https://www.ets.org/conten/dam/ets-org/pdfs/praxis/5086.pdf , and then use reliable content resources to brush up on the knowledge and competencies assessed by the test.
Our team is currently working with third-party entities to assist our test takers with additional resources and tutoring resource for test takers who *** wish to utilize these options. Additional information about this venture will be released as soon as it becomes available.
You mentioned that you wish to be offered a test at no charge if you do not meet your states requirement. We are unable to comply with your request. Your test activity was pulled and reviewed. Every test item was viewed, and response captured for each item. The test is validated for use, and we did not find an anomaly with the exam delivered on test day.
Thank you for sharing your concerns and we hope that your performance will result in your desired result.

Why choose a BBB Accredited Business?BBB Business Profiles may not be reproduced for sales or promotional purposes.
BBB Business Profiles are provided solely to assist you in exercising your own best judgment. BBB asks third parties who publish complaints, reviews and/or responses on this website to affirm that the information provided is accurate. However, BBB does not verify the accuracy of information provided by third parties, and does not guarantee the accuracy of any information in Business Profiles.
When considering complaint information, please take into account the company's size and volume of transactions, and understand that the nature of complaints and a firm's responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints.
BBB Business Profiles generally cover a three-year reporting period, except for customer reviews. Customer reviews posted prior to July 5, 2024, will no longer be published when they reach three years from their submission date. Customer reviews posted on/after July 5, 2024, will be published indefinitely unless otherwise voluntarily retracted by the user who submitted the content, or BBB no longer believes the review is authentic. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this company, please let them know that you checked their record with BBB.
As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation. This fee supports BBB's efforts to fulfill its mission of advancing marketplace trust.
