I hope this correspondence finds you well. My name is ****** *****, an examinee from *******, *****, with ETS ID ******** and registered email address [email protected] am writing to humbly seek clarification and guidance concerning the administrative review process for my GRE General Test (Home Edition) administered on January 10, 2025. Following your notification dated January 18, I was informed that my examination had been canceled due to concerns regarding the writing response, specifically citing that it did not reflect the assigned task, or contained ideas, language, and/or examples found in published resources or other test takers responses. I deeply respect the integrity of the review protocols for the Home Edition and thus refrained from contesting this outcome. In light of this, I promptly prepared for an offline examination to demonstrate my commitment to compliance. However, on January 26, I received correspondence from the Office of Testing Integrity indicating that my examination remains under administrative review. This development has understandably engendered a profound sense of uncertainty regarding my current standing. Given the prior cancellation of my test result, I am respectfully perplexed as to the necessity of an additional review. Furthermore, a subsequent email dated February 16 confirmed that the process remains ongoing, compounding my *************** present, seven weeks have elapsed since the examination and one month since the administrative review was initiated. With the utmost deference, I earnestly inquire whether any updates or clarifications might be extended regarding the status of this review. Should it be feasible, I would be deeply grateful if an analyst could be designated to address my concerns and elucidate the particulars of this matter. I stand prepared to furnish any requisite cooperation to expedite this process.

I took the French Praxis At-Home Exam, 5174, and my exam was terminated almost half way through without any explanation. My ******* of the exam stated that they did not understand why it was terminated. They redirected me to an online customer support agent, which led nowhere. While talking with them, they gave me false explanations as to why the exam was terminated. The given explanations can be proven false by the secure browser application that was used as well as testimony from the ******* of the exam, who was in charge of observing the exam in its entirety. I was first told that my exam was terminated because I did not start the check-in on time. This is incorrect, because I went through the entire check-in and security process with my *******, and I was entered into the exam and completed around an hour and half of it when it was terminated. Furthermore this is incorrect, because I would not be able to even go through the security process, let alone take the exam, if I had not started the check-in process on time. When the test was terminated, the ******* also did not understand why. When I stated all of this to the online agent, they then gave me another incorrect statement as to why the test was canceled and stated that it was because there was another application running on my computer. This was not the case, because there was no other application running on my computer, and my ******* and I had checked for this prior to starting the exam, and twice after the exam was terminated to see if there was an unknown process running in the background.

I am an international test taker from ****. On February 19, 2025, I took the ***** exam administered by Educational Testing Service (ETS). I paid the standard registration fee of $300.After completing the test, I saw partial scores for the Reading (28) and Listening (25) sections. However, the entire test is now under an administrative review, and my online account states: Info status: ******************* is delayed due to an administrative review, typically completed in 2-4 weeks; for updates, please contact customer support. This contradicts the advertised score reporting timeframe of 4-8 days.I have contacted ETS for clarification, but they have provided neither a clear explanation for this review nor a definitive timeline for releasing my scores. This delay is jeopardizing my ability to meet critical university application deadlines. The deadline is approaching fast and I don't have a second option. I believe ETS has failed to provide the service I paid for in a timely and transparent manner.I request that ETS promptly release my scores.I am filing this complaint with the Better Business Bureau to seek assistance in resolving this matter as quickly as possible.

      Complaint: 22986258

I am rejecting this response because:
      1. Clarification on Test Dates and Formats

February 19, 2025: I took a TOEFL iBT at an authorized test center, yet ETSs response mistakenly labels it as a Home Edition exam.
October 15, 2024: I did take a TOEFL iBT Home Edition on this date, which ETS also canceled.
This discrepancy suggests an error in ETSs records and indicates that my specific situation has not been accurately addressed.

      2. Insufficient ********************start="543" data-end="546">In its email, ETS claims that voice anomalies were detected during my February 19, 2025 speaking section, yet it has failed to provide any concrete evidence.

      3. Unfair *****************start="758" data-end="761">Following these cancellations, I have been prohibited from taking any ETS exams until after February 27, 2026. This penalty severely disrupts my academic and professional goals, especially given that I adhered to all testing protocols and am unaware of any wrongdoing on my part.

      4. Lack of **************************start="1074" data-end="1077">For both the October 15, 2024 Home Edition and the February 19, 2025 center-based test, ETS has failed to provide transparent information. This leaves me unable to address or dispute their findings effectively.

      5. Desired Outcome
Reinstatement of My Scores: I seek a fair review that restores my test scores and clarifies any legitimate basis for cancellation.
Written Clarification: I request a detailed explanation as to why my authorized center test is being treated like a Home Edition exam, along with confirmation that my case has been accurately reviewed.

I registered to take a praxis exam and it would not allow me to change my last name. When I went for a refund it only refunded me back $65.00. I registered and canceled within 3 hours on February 24th, 2025. I had to reschedule and move all of my information to a new account. My married name is different from my registered name. Then when I called customer service everyone I spoke with sounded as if they were in another country. All I needed was assistance to move the test that I already paid full price for to the new account. I was told they could not do so. I really do not want to make this a legal issue over $68.90, but not returning all of my money on the same day 3 hours later to just move my test registration to my new account is unbelievable.

      1. I registered for a test under my maiden name, because my CE and License are under my maiden name.
      2. Since I am now married with a new last name, I was instructed to create a new account using my new last name, because my ID must match the information on my test & ID.
      3. When I canceled my test I was only refunded $65.00. I registered for the class today. Not only am I canceling 3 days before the test. Its the same day 3 hours ago and they are still keeping my money.
      4. I want my $68.90 back. I still have to pay another $133.00 for another schedule exam under my married name.

I paid for a praxis exam of $160.00. The test was taken on January 18th, 2025 in Roanoke Va at the Electric Road Testing Center. I had to wait until 2-21-2025 for scores to be reported. On that date, my account showed canceled scores. I contacted customer service 2 times about this issue. I did not see or ever select to cancel my scores. They informed me the only solution to my problem was to pay and re-take the exam. I told them they must have a glitch in their system and they told me it was my error. I never selected to cancel my exam. I feel they are treating people unfairly and taking their money unjustly. When students must pass an exam by a date for graduation the company deletes their scores and tells them to re-take so they can collect more money. They have a monopoly because there is no other option for testing.

On Saturday, February 15 at 6pm MST I logged on to take the Physical Education General Content Praxis Exam. I did a diagnostic test and completed all the tests on my computer that they suggested through THEIR website. Once I logged into the test the proctor said they couldn't see my screen. We tried many things to resolve the problem, but none of them worked. Then the proctor asked if I was on a work computer and I said yes. The proctor said that I couldn't use a work computer because of restrictions on them. So they said to log on with a personal computer. I had one so I tried that and they said it wouldn't work because it has to be Windows 10 or above and mine was Windows 8. I didn't have any other means of taking the test. I called the company and asked them if I could just take the test without having to pay another $130 out of pocket. I stated that I complied with EVERY rule they had and my computer passed all their checklists. Plus, on their website it never states that you can't use a work computer. The website has you click a link to have your computer go through tests to make sure it is ready to take the test and mine did pass ALL those diagnostic tests. All I want is to take the test without having to pay again. This website is the only site that gives certification tests and I feel that they know that and they can make any arbitrary rule that they want as long as they get more money. I needed to take this test and get results back before March 1. I need this certification in order to apply for a job that I would like to interview for that opens up on March 1. I am very nervous about this. Please help!

      De** ****** * ********,

ETS was notified by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) that you
submitted a complaint regarding your February 15,
2025, Praxis Physical Education: Content Knowledge (5091) ®
      examination.

We are sorry to learn you were unable to start the test as
scheduled. As indicated on the Praxis website at ****************, test takers are
instructed to run a final equipment check and fix any issues before you attempt
to check in for your test. All issues must be resolved before your appointment
time. Test takers are responsible for ensuring they have a stable Internet connection
and sufficient memory on their computer to take the Praxis tests.

Our records indicate that you were using a computer to test for
which you did not have administrative rights. If you do not have the admin
rights, you often cannot download the ETS Secure Browser or the chat box.

As mentioned on the PRAXIS website at ****************,
please note that the system check cannot detect firewalls.

If you are using a device owned by an organization (work or
school), you must have administrator rights/privileges to be able to install
and configure applications correctly. Firewalls and/or other security settings
on organization-owned devices may restrict your ability to launch the
test. VPNs, firewalls, and anti-virus software can prevent you from
      launching a test.

Please be informed that the system checks conducted before this
test will primarily focus on detecting hardware-related issues with your
computer. This includes aspects such as the functionality of your hardware
components, compatibility, and overall system performance.

However, it's essential to note that these system checks may not
identify software-related issues, especially those related to security threats
or firewalls that might impact the performance of the application. Therefore,
it is advisable to ensure that your software configurations, security settings,
and firewall permissions are appropriately configured before the test to avoid
      any potential disruptions.

Candidates are responsible for ensuring that they are testing with
equipment that meets the stated requirements on the Praxis website. As the
equipment you attempted to test with did not meet the technical specifications
listed on the Praxis website. Unfortunately, we are unable to comply with your
request to issue a refund or a free reschedule.

Thank you for granting us the opportunity to provide clarification
regarding your complaint with the Better Business Bureau. We wish you continued
      success in your educational endeavors.

I have been trying to schedule my accommodated TOEFL iBT test at a physical test center since February 10, 2024, following the instructions in my accommodation approval letter. After calling **************, I was told someone would assist me, but no one followed up.When I contacted Prometric again, they claimed there was a technical issue preventing scheduling. This issue has persisted for over four to five days, putting me at risk of missing my application deadline. Concerned, I contacted ETS Disability Services, which stated they were unaware of any issue with TOEFL iBT but knew of issues with other tests. They advised me to ask Prometric to escalate the issue with ETS.I asked why I couldnt escalate it myself and why ETS wouldnt acknowledge the issue, but I received no clear answer. When I called Prometric again, they stated ETS was aware of the problem. I requested to speak with a supervisor and was promised a callback, but no one ever contacted me.After multiple attempts, the issue remains unresolved, and no one can provide a timeline for when I will be able to schedule my ******* concerns:Failure to provide reasonable accommodations This may violate the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).Lack of transparency and accountability ETS and Prometric give conflicting answers with no clear resolution.Potential harm to my education and career Delays may cause me to miss critical deadlines.Resolution Requested:Immediate resolution of the technical issue preventing scheduling.Assurance that I can take my accommodated TOEFL iBT at a physical test center.A formal response explaining why this issue occurred and what will be done to prevent it in the future. This delay is unacceptable, especially since other accommodated tests through Prometric have been scheduled without issue. I urge BBB to assist in holding ETS and Prometric accountable.

Dear BBB, My detailed information is below: ETS ID: ******** Appointment number:**************** Test date: February, 8, 2025 First name:******* Last name: ** Date of birth: *****,**,**** I am writing to file a complaint regarding the cancellation of my GRE scores by ETS. The discrepancies in my scores were due to limited preparation time caused by balancing my thesis and graduation project. I focused on the verbal and quantitative sections, as they showed quicker improvements, while writing required more time with less immediate progress. Additionally, I used effective test-taking strategies for verbal and quantitative sections, which contributed to my performance. It has been nearly a year since the last gre test, and it is also unreasonable to cancel my score due to the difference between the two tests. And Canceling my scores is unfair, especially as they are essential for my graduate school application due in one week.

      Dear Ran ****,

ETS was notified by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) that you submitted a complaint regarding your February 8, 2025 GRE General Test at-home examination.

We at ETS are highly committed to quality standards and fairness. After every test administration, we go to great lengths to ensure each test result we report is accurate and valid. We have read your concerns, however, the outcome stated in the letter stands. As you acknowledged when you registered for the test, ETS has the right to review the validity of test scores, and to cancel questionable scores when we believe there is substantial evidence that they are invalid. When scores are canceled for validity, there is no refund, voucher, or retest option. The decision is final, there is no scores to be reinstated and there is no appeal process. If you wish, you may register for future administration of the test, at your own expense. Accordingly, ETS stands by its decision and considers this matter closed.

Please familiarize yourself with test policies and procedures before taking any other tests administered by ETS by reviewing the GRE Information Bulletin located at *************************************************************************************************

Thank you for granting us the opportunity to provide clarification regarding your complaint with the Better Business Bureau. We wish you continued success in your educational endeavors.

      Regards,
      Office of Testing Integrity (OTI)

I took the TOEFL exam on December 1st, 2024, with the hope of completing my study abroad application smoothly.

To my surprise and disappointment, I received an email notifying me that my score had been canceled. I must emphasize that I completed the exam honestly and diligently, adhering to all the rules and regulations set forth by ETS. There was no indication or evidence provided to suggest any misconduct on my part during the exam.

The cancellation of my score, two months after the exam, has severely impacted my study abroad application. An offer that I had already received has been withdrawn as a result of this unexpected turn of events. I feel that I have been treated very unfairly, and the actions taken by ETS have caused significant distress and hindrance to my academic pursuits.
