Will not provide information, when requesting a debt validation letter, they hung up on me. They stated they already sent it and I did not respond, I asked them where they sent it and they said that they will note that I will not comply.. definitely a scam. I do not have any outstanding debt currently, they wouldn't even tell me what/who it was for unless I confirmed my personal information which I refused to do.

Called my mother looking for me. Not sure why, as I have had the same phone number for over 15 years. Called stating they were Summit Recovery Services and that I had an outstanding debt from Cashnet USA from 2019 for $1500 with past fees and interest.
First Red Flag ** I noticed they didn't state the mini Miranda that all debt collectors are required to say, "This is an attempt to collect a debt and any information obtained will be used for that purpose.
2nd Red Flag ** I then asked for them to send me documentation of this debt, to which the guy replied... "We are the fifth collection agency to have this debt, and by sending you documentation, you are only stalling".
Any legit collection agency would provide documentation to you of the original debt. So I told him I wasn't going to pay anything until I see proof that I owe it. He started to get frustrated and told me "this will be going to court", to which I said fine, but to make sure to bring the original paperwork with you if you plan on winning. He then hung up.
Don't fall for this crap... they clearly are not a legit collection agency.

Not sure how many times I'm going to have to say this, but this is NOT the Summit Recovery that is contacting you. We are a commercial (business to business) collection agency and do NOT deal with consumers. Please route this complaint to the proper Summit Recovery. Thank you.

Received a call from 940-xxx-xxxx stating I owe a payday loan from 2018 under another name! Lady was rude when I told them that was me she threatened with a judgement and to get my attorney and hanged up on me. So I called her back asked for the acct number place of service and their address- She stated she can not give me the information since its against policy lol I told her I wanted for my attorney and she wanted my attorney number - then she hanged up! All she wanted me to do is pay over the phone with no questions asked or answered.
Yea right !!! Sounded like they were from out of the USA
Debt collectors cannot harass or abuse you. They cannot swear, threaten to illegally harm you or your property, threaten you with illegal actions, or falsely threaten you with actions they do not intend to take. They also cannot make repeated calls over a short period to annoy or harass you.

These people have called me about every two or three days. I tend to not answer unfamiliar numbers. They leave the standard message that others on this site have stated about a time sensitive matter blah blah blah. This morning I answered out of pure curiosity, and the individual claimed that they were collecting on some sort of payday loan. They did have the last four of my social, which is a little bit scary. They claimed I defaulted on some loan. What is funny is that there was a time in my youth where I didn’t manage money very well. Even so, I’ve never done any sort of payday loan. if indeed, this was legit, which I doubt, it would have been 30 YEARS AGO! I am pretty sure that any statute of limitations would have long since expired. Heck, this was before the Internet or anything. I laughed at him and told him I didn’t know what he was talking about. He then hung up on me. that pretty much tells me it is a scam. These lowlifes buy zombie debt and try to coax people into affirming that they owe some amount of money, even if they don’t.
In the last 30 years, I have bought and sold real estate, obtained 3 college degrees, moved 20 times to every end of the state. I have an extremely good credit rating. These scam artists can **** all the way off.

Called me every day stating that I had a payday loan outstanding. I paid it off a long time ago. I am sick of these scams. I don't know what to do.

I had almost the same exact experience as Ann R. They also refused to give me an address to send my debt validation request to. The individual I spoke to indicated they would mail me a debt validation letter within 20-30 business days. Debt collectors have a legal requirement to send it within 5 days after first contacting me. This is another indication this is a scam.

Similar to persons reviewing this company as well, I have been getting phone calls with similar voicemails being left every 2 days or so. I have answered once, and when I did, I was told about a payday loan I owed (I have NEVER gotten a payday loan). My credit report does not show a payday loan or anything of the sort either. When I asked for a debt validation letter they refused to send one, and said they would note on my account that I was not compliant. They also went by MRS in that phone conversation, but are now saying they are SRS. I wish I could zero stars, and have reported this to the scam tracker app in BBB as well as the CFPB.

Collections Scam: Received numerous calls from SRS, stating that they are collecting a debt from Check 'N Go, and they had the last 4 of my social security number. I'd never even heard of Check 'N Go. I checked my credit reports with all 3 agencies, and there's nothing abnormal. This is a complete scam, as I filed a report with Check 'N Go, who informed me that they were unable to find any account under my name.

Collections scam:  I have received multiple voicemails from many phone numbers saying "This is a very urgent & time sensitive message from SRS.  Please kindly return our call using the number on your caller ID as soon as possible to be connected with a live representative who may better be able to assist you again.  Please return our call at your earliest convenience...".   They have also called and used the acronym MRS, MRI, MRF and call from all over the country from various numbers.  I called them back today at the numbers they provided ***** ******** and ***** ********.  They have the last 4 digits of my Social Security number and tried to get the rest out of me - which I did not give up.  They are saying they are collecting on a payday debt from 2019 from a company they don't have a phone number or information for that I never borrowed from.  My credit report is spotless with no collections anyway.  They also would not give me address for their actual SRS company location to send a Debt Validation letter request via Certified Mail - they said they couldn't give it out because people have tried to come and harm them. Ridiculous.  I was hung up on twice even though I was being polite. Then suddenly the phone numbers they called from would no longer connect after I called back.  I contacted the BBB after all of this and my helpful contact there said the secondary phone number ***** ******** was coming up on a robo call scam list.   If you try to look SRS up online or call the number for them on the BBB it is also a scam number that drops your call and hangs up out of New Hampshire.  I could not find any real corporate number for them. Definitely a scam.
