1 starTwo separate tows from my apartment complex. Being told one thing from apartment complex and another from Gotcha towing. Was physically assaulted by tow truck driver. Myself and another resident tried to speak rationally to tow truck driver explaining what our apartment complex told us about parking at pool. When we were ignored I acted irrationally by trying to turn off ignition to truck. I was grabbed and thrown to the pavement. The entire back of my head was bruised and swollen, in addition, there were finger bruises where he held me and both my my elbows were bloody and bruised. Did I mention I am a 5 foot 55 year old woman? Police said they cud do nothing because I reached into vehicle and the driver said I hit him. Completely corrupt!Review fromJade G

1 starMy car was towed on Friday, July 7th at 3:05 a.m. I arrived to pick up my car around 9 a.m. Though the sign with your company’s information stated the amount could be paid with a card, I was told you all only take Apple Pay or Zelle. I proceeded to send the amount to the phone number via Apple Pay and it was flagged as a scam. I proceeded to ask the gentleman at the desk what number would be best. He called a couple numbers, and I stated that I needed to get to work being that this should have been a very streamlined process. The gentleman then sarcastically said, “Send it to that number then.” I responded saying I would like to be sure the money was going to the correct location. He then finally gave me a number. I collected my car and left.
While driving away, I noticed rumbling under my car. I quickly pulled over and called the company, informing them of the noise, unsure if something was left under my car or just broken. The woman on the phone recommended I return so that they could take a look at my car. I followed her directions and told the gentleman at the front what was happening. I also played the video of the noise I recorded while driving. The gentleman walked outside and barely looked at my car.
I was able to get an appointment with a local dealership on Saturday morning. I was told that the front left sway bar bushing was not in the retainer and had to have both replaced. I was assured the manager would contact me on Monday morning but never heard anything so I reached out.
While finally speaking with the manager, he automatically became defensive not only about the damages his employees did to my car but also about the unnecessary things said to me by his employee and made excuses. He stated that he would immediately review cameras. I followed up with an email today and yesterday and of course I have yet to hear anything back. Obviously, everything I said was true after they reviewed cameras, if they even work.Review fromAlan S

1 starThis company is full of racist crooks. I was visiting from out of town when my rental was in the process of being towed. The lady attempting to tow explained it would be 200.00 to release the vehicle and it could only be paid in cash. She was in a hurry and seemed extremely sketchy so I asked to speak to her supervisor. She called a lady who answered “hello” and sounded as if she was on speaker phone and gave me an entirely different pricing than the tow lady. I refused to allow anyone to tow my rental or pay until I knew for sure this was a legit business. Upon waiting for the police to arrive,(yes I called the police), 9 other people showed up. Some in tow trucks and some in random cars, each wearing different company names(pink hooker, man, gotcha towing). They were very rude and trying to video me while I asked them politely not to. I was called racial slurs and laughed at for simply wanting to know if this was a scam or a legit business. The police finally arrived to inform me of the ridiculous laws in the state of North Carolina regarding towing of vehicles. They claimed that these companies have contracts with the apartments and local businesses in the area. The signage posted in the apartment complex was ran over and laying down. The tow truck people also claimed it would be $5 per minute because I inconvenienced them. Police did nothing, other than give me a ride to claim my rental, and I was forced to pay an extreme amount of money simply for wanting to make sure they were a legit company. The employees of this company are clearly racist based on their communication with me. They are unprofessional and something needs to be done with the way they treat people as well as their shady business ethics.Review fromBonnie S

1 starMy daughter’s car was being towed last night. She walked back to the car as they were putting her car on tow truck. Driver said she could pay $200 via ApplePay and they would release her car right there and then. She went to pay and the driver drove off. We followed the driver and flagged him down to let him know we were paying. The driver told us to go to the tow lot. We get there it was $300 and cash only. Another lady came in right behind us and the other driver did the same thing. She went to pay at the location her vehicle was being put on tow truck, and the driver took off. They are purposely driving off when the person is offering to pay on spot, just so they can make the extra $100 and it’s cash only at that time.Review fromNyah W

1 starThis company is complied of workers with zero integrity and clearly focused on financial gain. A PREDATORY IMPOUND COMPANY. My car was towed last night at 4 AM for being “double parked” however, my tire was ON the white line due to compact parking and limited spaces. I caught the young man who was towing my car in the act, he had face covering informally known as a “Shiesty mask” on, I then pleaded to him as I turned my car alarm on while they pulled off with my car, he responded it was already “too late” as I chased my car down the street. When I went to recover my car the next afternoon (because I couldn’t miss work) the recovery location gate was WIDE OPEN with everyone’s cars exposed. The environment is extremely unprofessional as they are working out of an empty rented house with everyones cars cluttered in the backyard. I almost was forced to damage someone else car just to get back into my own due to the lack of organization . No one could explain why I had to pay and additional 40$ fee for holding my vehicle over I when I was told the night before via the operator I couldn’t go get my car the moment it got towed because they don’t open until 8:30 in the morning. NOT TO MENTION, the gotcha towing signs placed around my apartment complex states the storage fee is only 25$. They offered no receipts, proof, or pictures from the incident or of any misconduct, pricing, or management. If you care about customer satisfaction at all I recommend you do not hire this company unless you want complaints piling up at your door.Review fromShaun W

1 starPREDATORY IMPOUNDING COMPANIES SHOULD BE OUTLAWED.
If I am in clear violation of an established, clearly stated law, I understand being towed. If my registration is valid, and I have a valid parking permit, I SHOULD NOT BE TOWED IN MY OWN LOT. They claimed to get me on “double parking” but the second “park” was nothing more than an empty space with a telephone pole in the middle of it. Not even a motorcycle could fit in that space.
FURTHERMORE, NO ONE attempted to contact me during the tow, and I did not notice until the next morning when my car was gone, and another truck was parked in its place the EXACT SAME WAY my car was.
This caused me to be late for work, which not only costed me the $250 for retrieval, but also cost me a major business opportunity which cannot be rectified.
Nevermind the fact that they only deal with cash (they claim people were disputing the charges, but that’s part of the business) which is sketchy by itself, and not to mention they towed my car with the e-brake engaged, which likely caused unnecessary strain on my brake cable.
These people are SCUM, the lowest of the low, and they don’t deserve to be operational. They are taking advantage of unaware people and turning a mountainous profit, all while providing despicable customer service and potentially damaging other people’s property.
There should be regulations on companies like this. Something as simple as attempting to contact their victim (because that’s what we are, VICTIMS) would be a great starting point, but something needs to be done.

1 starThis charged $340.00 for towing this past weekend at the NC A&T Homecoming. They only accepted cash and not credit card which is a scam within itself. Requesting payment under the table and I'm sure it's not being reported to the IRS. Something needs to be done about this company. Usually they charge $250.00.Gotcha Towing & Recovery

Our company does only accept cash for impounded vehicles. We had to start doing this, because when we were taking debit and credit cards, we would get numerous amounts of emails from peoples banks on them disputing charges. If a charge is disputed from a person's bank, it is a very long process on our end proving that the charge was not fraudulent.
