2 starsMy mother took the time to get a cashier's check of a large amount to avoid any question of fraudulent activity or holds on the check. Well, Truist still put an exception/adminstrative hold on the check. It states funds MAY BE available on 07/22/25. The deposit was made on 07/11/25, and they immediately withdrew the funds from my mother's account that day.Truist Bank

1 starTwo weeks ago I checked my checking account to find out.Somebody had deposited a seven thousand dollar.Check into my account. After notifying customer **********************, they withdrew the money twice, leaving me with a negative six thousand dollar balance. I have contacted Truist bank repeatedly sense with no avail. ****** took my money and still will not give it back.Truist Bank

1 starI am now going on four to five months trying to obtain a Affidvit by Illinois Lien Holder. Yes, you are reading that correctly - five months. At one point it was claimed that the document was in process. When I called four weeks later, I was told that it had not even been started. When one finally arrived it had the wrong VIN number! Unfortunately Illinois requires the correct number, even if it is apparent that there was a mistake. I have no idea how a financial institution can error so many times and keep saying, "We're Sorry". Do not take out personal loans and I would say maybe not even bank at a institution with such bad record keeping. I am now on my sixth call and been holding for 20 minutes.Truist Bank

1 starFrom the start, about a month ago, opening my account with ********************** was problematic. The teller said there was a fraud alert; my married name had been appended to my maiden name on some but not all documentation, and that caused ambiguity. I was grateful for the security, but it was unsettling, especially after receiving a letter informaing me of the investigation for fraud. No fraud found, of course. It got worse. Two days ago I went to the bank to personally deposit a check and to notify the bank that the wrong telephone number had been printed on my new, and first set of checks. "No problem," stated the teller, "we'll just order new ones," but I'd have to pay the fee again. "We Can't waive the fee," said the teller, whom I believe to be the figure in authority. "I'm not paying the fee for your mistake," I said. With his "too bad" attitude, the teller argued with me. Before I knew it, the police were called. They stood at the counter so close we could have touched elbows. Quite intimidating. I hope the bank can review the video because there was absolutely no cause for this type of reaction. By the way, on either side and behind the stubborn teller, a young woman looked at another female teller and rolled her eyeballs (denied, of course). The main man continued to deny a waiver of the fee and told me to just cross out the incorrect phone number and write in the correct phone number. I recognized the incorrect number as a number of a residence in another state, many years past. Still he dug in. I asked where that information came from. He typed more or less silently until he realized his mistake. Had he done a minimal amount of research before denying me (a new Truist customer) the correct **********************, he could have saved me much anxiety. I'm a new customer, but conceivably not a long-term customer.Truist Bank

1 starThe over draft fees are too high and I decided to close my business account. The customer ********************** department doesnt care about losing customers and says that the supervisors wont help customers with the issue of receiving the fee of $36.00 dollars on the account. I refuse to be with a bank that lacks empathy for their customers and will not suggest any further family or friends seek their services.Truist Bank

This response back from Truist doesnt help the situation about the two additional fees I paid to them. I will be looking for another bank for my business, they arent very nice to their customers needs. I would feel better with a refund and I would be more careful about the situation moving forward.Review fromDebra N

1 starJuly 7, 2025, approximately 4:38 pm, I walked into Truist Bank on *************************************************** I had a 5-month ** account and needed to retrieve my funds. I provided the ***resentative with my credentials, and she said that she was unable to locate my account. I was shocked and very distraught. I informed her that I had opened a ** account 5 months previously, and wanted to know what happened and why they could not locate my account. I told the *** she needed to call the accountant or the head of the bank to figure it out. The manager assisted her and, after various phone calls, was able to locate my ** deposit form. I said that it was odd that no one from Truist sent me any reminders, and she said that is because records showed that I did not have an account. They were able to see where I had closed out a checking account, but that was it. I also informed them that I had my two kids as the beneficiaries. It appeared to me that the person who helped me open the ** was careless. During that time in February, there were 4 Truist employees there. Now, I have to go to my other bank to get a copy of the back and front of the cashier's check because they said that they have no evidence of it. I am distraught over this and need to find a way to get my money back, plus the interest owed.Truist Bank

1 starTruist is allowing a fraudulent transaction of $1,200 to clear through my checking account. I notified them right away that this transaction is fraudulent and the transaction is still pending. They are refusing to stop the this transaction from clearing. They told me after it clears to file a claim. So I'm to wait for these people to steal my money and then wait 10 more days to get it back?! On top of that the person I spoke to at the ** office this morning was extremely rude and snarky. Truist is complicit and an accomplice to theft. They've been notified that this transaction isn't me and they're doing nothing to stop it. This is the second time this has happened with truist in a years time. Stay away from truist bank at all costs. They do nothing to protect their clients money even when they're told its fraud. And their customer serive workers at the ********* are rude and condescending. Once I file this claim if I don't get my money back after they were told it was fraud and they let it happen, I will be getting a lawyer and filing a claim against them on BBB. The amount of complaints I've found of people saying truist is stealing from them and doing the same thing I'm experiencing, is baffling. I will be closing my account completely and banking elsewhere once this is resolved. For a bank to allow a known fraudulent transaction to clear, is incompetent and complicit in the theft. 1 starHorrible customer ********************** and very long waits inside and drive through. Tried calling but they wont answer the phone. Watched people walk out of lobby because they were unable to get someone to help them. When branch manager is out there is no one to cover for her so you have to go back when shes there and wait again only to have to come back another day. This is the worst bank in *********************.
