  BBB received a consumer complaint indicating he was contacted by a
  representative from Software Maniacs via telephone, requiring purchase
  of a 2 year maintenance contract to resolve his computer issues. 
  Consumer is not sure how the company knew of his computer issues.
  Consumer was asked by the company representative to wire $400 to India
  knowing the representative had given him a business address in
  Mississippi. Consumer complains the
  representative spent six hours on his computer and stated he would call
  him back the next day and the consumer hasn't heard from him yet.   

  
  

  Better Business Bureau contacted the company via email regarding the
  consumer complaint, the owner of Software Maniacs, Inc. located in
  Virginia stated his company does not provide consumer computer software
  or hardware support
  and they do not make sales calls over the telephone. He also states the
  complaint has a familiar sound and he has been contacted by various
  agencies throughout the U. S. with similar sounding issues.  Owner
  reports there is a company located in the UK that has a similar business
  name and offered the web address for the other company;

  relationship with the company, Software Maniacs, Ltd.
