      I am diabetic and lost my left hand palm and fingers in a recent accident. My PCP prescribed "Freestyle Libre 3 Plus," which needs prior authorization. He did the paperwork, but it got denied. The reasons given are Coverage is provided when the patient meets one of the following:1) the patient had a level 2 hypoglycemia event in the past 6 months; or 2) the patient had a level 3 hypoglycemia event in the past 6 months; or 3) the request is for a pregnant patient with diabetes. Note: A level 2 hypoglycemia event is a blood glucose value less than 54 mg/dL. A level 3 hypoglycemia event is a severe event characterized by altered mental and/or physical status requiring assistance for treatment of hypoglycemia, irrespective of glucose level. Coverage cannot be authorized at this time. Medical Director, DO, Neurology I contacted them on 09/11/2025 and was on call for 7 hours. They kept transferring from department to department and person to person. None of them had medical knowledge. Their pharmacist clearly mentioned that I am eligible and am at risk, but they never understand the medical knowledge; they just go through the paper rolls mentioned, and they are just a waste of time. It's a huge company but does not have at least 1 person with medical knowledge in level 1 and level 2 supervision.

      Accredo is the worst pharmacy I have ever experienced. I recommend that every (including providers) run and refer their patients away. I am calling **** to put in a report with Accredo Soecialty as well. The pharmacists and their team are good, but customer service **** are awful.

      Lets just start with the word "Express" being used in their name. Not even close. Going on day 9 waiting to receive a prescription. First it was on back order (did not know this until calling to check status, had a different dosage called in that was in stock and still waiting. United Healthcare using these people for scrips is a joke! DO NOT RECOMMEND. I would save $80 if I use them for a 90 day supply-but if I never get the medicine...Stick to visiting your local pharmacy every 30 days at least they are reliable.

      I can't tell you how many times Express Scripts doesn't send my medication and then I'm forced to pay out of pocket at a local pharmacy. Their communication is terrible and so slow! They need TWO WEEKS just to "review" a medication that I've been on for years because the dosage changed. It takes them weeks to send anything out, heaven forbid you need to get something quickly. They will reject a prescription that yours even though a doctor prescribed it. They say that they have contacted your doctor about your prescription, but then when you talk to your doctor, they say there is no evidence of communication. This means that I have to spend HOURS making phone calls and running around trying to make sure I don't run out of my regular medication. I thought a pharmacy that mailed your prescriptions was supposed to be easier, hassle free. Express Scripts is nothing but a hassle and a head ache. I hope someone buys them and improves the service.

      After many calls from myself, my husband, and my doctor to express scripts and accredo over the last month, we have yet to receive the refill of my child's specialty medication (he has Crohn's disease) despite numerous assurances that they would send it overnight, putting him at risk of needing infusions.

      If there was a way to leave them a zero rating I would. Absolutely deplorable. The people on the phone are sympathetic with your case but nothing ever gets resolved. They have not delivered a single time on their promises to resolve or ship my medication. The first time it took over 3 weeks. The second time I still have not gotten it. I am filing a complaint.

      Pharmacy Benefits Review Express Scripts and Accredo have been an absolute nightmare for patients who already pay so much for medical insurance. The process involves far too many steps, endless phone calls, and constant uncertainty about whether costs will actually be covered. They transfer you from one representative to another, making promises but never following through. It took me over a month just to receive my infusion, and even now the issue is still not resolved. Instead of working directly with providers, insurance companies push the burden onto patients to sort out billing and approvals. We have very good doctors, but the system itself is broken. I can only hope for meaningful change in healthcare.

      My doctor sent a script 9 days ago and it still isnt processed. Delay after delay after delay and the people you talk to could not care less and are very condescending. What a joke. I wish I had another choice but of course I dont They delay and delay hoping you give up so they dont have to spend any money on you.

      Express scripts (ES) mailed 2 medications that **** claimed to have delivered in my mailbox but they never showed up. The address was correct, so I contacted **** and asked for proof of delivery and never heard back. I called ES a few days later to let them know and they said to wait until Monday (an additional 3 days) to see if they show up but I was about to go on vacation out of state before Monday. When I got back, they still were not in my mailbox. So, I called ES. By this time, I was out of medication. At first, the manager said there was nothing they could do since it was the correct address and **** said they delivered it. They told me to resolve it with **** rather than with them.I explained my situation further and they offered to do a one-time exception and mail them again but that takes 3-5 business days and if they didn't show up I'd be out of luck. I was out of the medication and skipping it can cause serious side-effects. For context, these medications are not narcotics or anything remotely restricted. The manager at ES said I could speak to one of their pharmacists on how to deal with the health effects of skipping my meds for a few days while I waited for my refill.They refused to transfer the original prescription to a local pharmacy or expedite shipping. The best option I could negotiate with them was for me to call my prescriber (on a weekend) and have them send a new prescription to a local pharmacy. This was only after practically begging them to allow ******* representatives were very reluctant to help, they did not care that these were important medications with harmful side effects of missed doses, they did not apologize, and they kept telling me different reasons for why they couldn't help. For example, they said that they couldn't send the original script to a local pharmacy because it didn't have refills attached to it, but then said they never do this at all under any circumstances. My experience was demoralizing.

      They left me without my antidepressants due to an "inability to fill" a prescription that was called in by my doctor weeks ago. They never bothered to notify me or my doctor, choosing instead to simply let me run out of medicine and call them when I realized I took my last pill. Now it will be a week before I can get my meds and that is going to be a week from h*** The kicker: BCBS of NC only allows us to use ********* (the only company worse than express scripts) or Express Scripts. I guess I need to get used to not having my antidepressants and all that goes with it. If you have a choice which, you most unlikely don't then don't use Express Scripts. If you're like me and you're stuck with bad or worse, then good luck if you have medication that you absolutely have to take. Because there will be times when you simply won't be able to get it. And that's a shame in a country that's supposed to be the freest and richest in the world..
