    It was my first time buying through Swappa. I purchased a Garmin running watch, and it was delivered in kind condition, as described. The process was easy, the price was awesome, and the overall experience was very good! I will be shopping for used tech through Swappa again.

    I have been trying to contact customer support for a week now. I purchased an iPhone a week ago on Swappa. The order never changed from pending to order confirmed, and $300 has been sitting as pending in my bank account for a week. I received no order confirmation, and have been unable to contact the seller or Swappa. Better yet, Swappa deactivated my account, so I can’t even log into check on any status. I have a broken phone and I don’t know what to do at this point.

    Sorry to hear about the payment trouble. Based on the details you shared, it sounds like your payment was not approved.

    In cases where a buyers payment is not approved by their bank or credit card issuer, they may see a pending authorization. Pending authorizations generally drop off within a few business days, but that timeline is set and controlled by your bank or credit card company.

    Unfortunately, Swappa cannot speed up or otherwise influence the timeline set by your bank or credit card company. If the pending authorization has not been released yet, we recommend you reach out to your bank or card issuer for clarification.

    Swappa is a fantastic platform where I have had great success in both buying and selling verified cellphones and watches. I've never had an experience with any bad actors on this platform. I do like the fact that all of the prices and fees are put right up front when creating a listing.

    Purchased several items from Swappa over the years and never have had a negative experience. I think it is due in part to how the team vets the sellers to ensure buyers are getting what they paid for. Responses between sellers and staff have been quick. Latest purchased completed 04/18/2024.

    I have bought several phones and sold one so far at Swappa and have never once had any sort of and issue! One time when I did receive an item that was slightly damaged the seller immediately offered free swap with a brand new phone for the mint I had ordered or a dollar discount refund.

    78 valid complaints, and they don’t have the courtesy to tell you why they are blocking you from their site, i had a beef with a seller, after the cellphone he sell me sealed brand new, and when i tried to actuvated, had to repair it to work, spent another $180 dollars, and when i tell swappa about it, they said that the window of complaint was already pass, and now they blacklisted me from making a purchase on their site, becuase they are so thin skinned, they way i spoke of the guy that sell me a defective device, this happens more than 3 years, and they still have me block, ain’t that something?? They refuse my purchase from Texas, they are so arrogant, in dealing with their customer base, i guess i’m barred for life!!!

    This user has had several Swappa accounts, which by itself, is a violation of Swappa policy.

    *The first account was banned in March 2019 after they opened a PayPal dispute without any attempt to first reach out to the seller to resolve the issue (another violation of Swappa policy).

    * The user also created a second account and made a purchase in May 2020. The purchase was for a new iPhone, still sealed in the box. The user then waited more than two years, until July 2022, before filing a complaint stating the battery life was bad. As this user was informed at the time, a seller cannot be held responsible for the battery life of an iPhone they sold two years earlier.

    * A third account was created a few days ago and promptly banned by our support team given the issues on the previous two accounts.

    This user is no longer permitted to use Swappa, and any accounts that are created moving forward will be closed.

    Their customer service is awful for buyers and their staff has an attitude problem. After buying 2 phones that ended up being not as described back to back and having a nasty response because I contacted PayPal (since that's whom they instruct you to go to if there is an issue), I closed my account.

    Hello,

    We’re sorry to see you leave Swappa – you had 18 successful purchases over 7 months. We also apologize if our stance was firm, but as we noted in our previous communications, a PayPal dispute should be used as a last resort such as when a seller is unwilling to assist or simply ignoring the issue. In this case, the seller was actively responding and trying to get the issue resolved.
