Thank you for reaching out and giving us the opportunity to respond. We understand Mr. REMOVEDconcerns and appreciate the opportunity to clarify the situation.
After reviewing our records, we were unable to locate a contract with Mr. REMOVEDor documentation showing that Wallside installed the windows in his home. Wallsides warranty and service guarantee apply to the original customers who purchase their REMOVEDdirectly from Wallside. This is important because windows may be removed, reinstalled, or modified after their original installation in ways that Wallside cannot verify or installed in ways that do not meet Wallside's standards.
Although these windows are not covered under a Wallside warranty, we have offered to replace the glass at no charge if Mr. REMOVEDbrings the affected window sashes to our factory. If he would prefer for Wallside to perform the work at his home, we are also willing to provide that service; however, standard service and labor fees would apply.
We remain available to discuss these options with Mr. REMOVEDand help identify the most practical path toward resolving his concern.

During the sales process, Wallside Windows represented that the windows they were selling qualified for the federal energy efficiency tax credit. This representation was a significant factor in our decision to purchase these windows, despite their high cost. We would not have agreed to purchase these overpriced windows had we known the tax credit was not actually available. After the purchase, we discovered that Wallside Windows does not have a qualifying manufacturer identification number and never applied for one, which is required for consumers to claim the tax credit. As a result, the windows do not qualify, and we are unable to receive the promised tax benefit. We believe Wallside Windows knowingly misrepresented the eligibility of their products in order to induce us to make the purchase. This constitutes deceptive and misleading business practices. We are seeking resolution through the Better Business Bureau and request appropriate action, which may include a refund, partial reimbursement, or another fair remedy to account for the loss of the promised tax credit.

Thank you for reaching out and we understand there has been a lot of confusion and frustration regarding the REMOVEDand the tax credit.  We sent the following information to our customer but we also want to make clear that for customer satisfcation, REMOVEDis reimbursing our customer directly the credit they would have received under the rules for the Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit.  If any sales REMOVEDexplicitly provided incorrect info, please reach out to our management to discuss the spefics.

Regarding this particular customer, we have worked with them to come to a resolution that is mutually agreeable.  Thank you

I had new windows placed by Wallside Windows in December 2025. I have been contacting them for weeks waiting on the REMOVEDso I can file my taxes with the energy credits. I have been told by Wallside that they did not submit their information in a timely enough manner to be able to receive a REMOVED, therefore we are not eligible to receive any energy credits on our taxes. I went with Wallside because they were energy star and a big factor in doing my windows before the end of the year was for the tax credit I would receive.

    Business Response

    Date: 02/23/2026

Thank you for reaching out and we understand there has been a lot of confusion and frustration regarding the REMOVEDand the tax credit.  We sent the following information to our customer but we also want to make clear that for customer satisfcation, REMOVEDis reimbursing our customer direct the credit they would have received under the rules for the Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit.  Unfortunately, the requirements for windows is not just Energy Star, but Energy Star Most Efficient - meaning that Energy Star windows alone do not qualify.

Below is the letter we sent to this customer.  Once they confirm the information that would also be needed to qualify for the credit (products were installed in their primary home), Wallside will refund the $250 credit that would have been received on their taxes.

Thank you for reaching out regarding the Energy Efficient Home Improvement Tax Credit. With tax time upon us, we know it can be exciting to see a possible REMOVEDtax credit for purchasers of energy efficient windows and doors in 2025. Because of changes the REMOVEDmade to the 2025 tax code, very few windows or doors qualify for these credits.

Were pleased to let you know that after reviewing your 2025 order, we determined that the doorwall(s) you purchased could qualify for the credit.

Below, we explain the requirements for these credits and why Wallside plans to issue you a check directly in the amount of the credit, rather than you receiving an REMOVEDtax credit on your return. We will also ask you to answer a few quick questions to confirm that your windows would qualify.

Who qualifies for a 2025 tax credit on their windows?

Specifically, to claim the tax credit in our region of the country, you need to have purchased a specialized, premium triple-pane casement or picture window from Wallside with a U-factor of = 0.20 and a Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) = 0.20. Doors require dual pane, premium glass with a U-Factor of = .25 and a SHGC = .30. For windows, the amount of the credit is 30% of the qualifying window cost, not including labor, with a maximum credit of $600. For doors, the credit is $250 per door, with a maximum of $500. Thats a one-time 2025 credit, with no plans to renew it for 2026. Not all of the windows or doors you purchased may qualify for the requirements of the tax credit.

Does Wallside have a special code I can use to try to claim an REMOVEDtax credit?

We do not have a special code. Beginning in 2025, the REMOVEDcreated a brand-new rule: To qualify for a tax credit, windows must be made by a REMOVEDthat registers through a new REMOVEDportal and signs a formal agreement with the REMOVED. This provides them with a REMOVEDQualified Manufacturer Identification number.

This agreement requires manufacturers to register in the REMOVEDEnergy Credits Portal, enter into the Qualified Manufacturer Agreement, receive a special QM Code, later assign 17-digit Product Identification Numbers to every qualifying window, and report these numbers to the REMOVEDregularly.

Wallside created an account and started this process in 2025, but the REMOVEDnever notified us that the ability to finalize the agreement would end on December 31, 2025, and could not be completed afterward.

When we contacted the REMOVEDin January 2026 to finish the registration, we were told the registration period had officially closed on December 31, 2025, no manufacturer could complete the agreement in 2026, and any window produced in 2025 could not be certified retroactively.

Because of this, the REMOVEDdoes not permit Wallside Windows to issue a Qualified Manufacturer ID for any 2025 installations, which is required to claim the credit.

What does this mean for you and your taxes?

Because the REMOVEDclosed the Qualified Manufacturer program without warning, Wallside cannot issue the required manufacturer ID to claim the credit on your 2025 taxes. That said, Wallside has been family-owned and operated for more than 80 years. Our reputation is built on being honest with our customers, doing the right thing and delivering energy-efficient windows at an affordable price, not just the highest-priced options on the market.

We understand that many customers may be frustrated by not qualifying for a credit for a llarge investment they made to make their home more energy efficient. As a result, while we are not obligated to do so, Wallside is pleased to offer you a check in the amount of the REMOVEDcredit you would otherwise qualify for.

To Apply for the Credit Replacement

Please reply to this email with the following:

    - Address where the [windows and/or doors] were installed.

    - Confirmation that the installation location is your primary residence (vacation or 2nd homes do not qualify)

    - Confirmation of the name on the original contract. The replacement check will be made out to the primary purchaser of the Wallside products.

Once we receive this information well let you know the amount of the qualifying replacement payment. For more information on the Energy Efficient Tax Credit, you can visit REMOVEDconsult a professional tax advisor as the information provided herein should not act as a substitute.

    Were Here to Help

We know these REMOVEDchanges have been confusing and frustrating, especially because the new rules were introduced without properly notifying window manufacturers or consumers. At the same time, were committed to giving you clear, honest information and supporting you in the fairest way possible.

We believe in the importance of energy-efficient windows and doors and we hope future REMOVEDtax credits will actually reward ALL homeowners who make their homes more efficient.

As always, thank you for choosing Wallside Windows, and giving us the opportunity to explain this situation clearly and honestly.

    Warm regards,

    REMOVED
    President, Wallside Windows

I've been in contact with Wallside about utilizing a deposit made pre-covid. To date, I've been told that I'd be able to keep the entire deposit to use towards a future purchase. Today I was told that I could only use REMOVEDand they'd be keeping the remaining REMOVED. I want them to honor their original verbal agreement, which they say they have recordings of.

Thank you very much and we understand our customer's concern.  However, the facts provided in the customer's complaint do not accurately reflect what has transpired.

On September 19, 2020, Ms. REMOVEDsigned a contract for 25 custom made Wallside Windows for her home for $10,122.  At the time, Ms. REMOVEDpaid a deposit of $5,130.00.  As part of that contract, we had an installation date for the customer of January 20, 2021.  As per the contract, Wallside manufactured the 25 custom windows for Ms. REMOVEDhome and prepared for installation on January 20, 2021. On January 20, 2021, Ms. REMOVEDrescheduled her installation with Wallside Windows to April 20, 2021. On April 19, Ms. REMOVEDcalled in and according to our system notes, she said she has no money and did not know when we can install them.  On October 15, 2021, we spoke to Ms. REMOVEDagain and she said she still didn't have the money to pay the remaining balance due upon installation.  We offered to cancel the contract and Ms. REMOVEDnotified us she would call back to reschedule.

At the end of 2021 and in 2022, Wallside attempted to contact Ms. REMOVEDover 5 times to schedule.

By May 2023, Wallside had been storing Ms. REMOVED25 custom windows for 2.5 years.  Wallside sent a letter to Ms. REMOVED(attached) that stated that

Tech came out to inspect windows for warranty work said I needed 22 windows replaced under warranty they would call us to schedule appointment. They schedule appointment month and a half later I take the day off work to make sure I am home tech calls me the night before explains they will be here by 9am. I get a call following morning at 9am saying tech is ill they have to reschedule. Insanely ridiculous tech called previous night to confirm time I moved all furniture out of his way and took a full day off of work for nothing. I call to reschedule and earliest appointment is basically another month out on a Saturday which I have to work ridiculous that is earliest appointment available knowing I took day off from work and already moved all furniture. Now I have to move it all back and take another full day off of work and move furniture again to cross my fingers somebody shows up this time. Not to mention the black xs the first tech drew on all 22 bad windows I have had the pleasure of looking at for almost four months by the time next appointment rolls around. Highly dissatisfied seems like they may be trying to get out of the warranty I would not recommend this company.

We are very sorry for the experience you have had with our service department and understand the frustration that can be caused when appointments are cancelled last minute.  We look forward to servicing your windows.  As discussed with our customer on Monday, August 4, we have an appointment scheduled for Tuesday, August 5.  We have confirmed some glass units are on order and are scheduled to be delivered early morning prior to our appointment.  the customer has indicated they want to proceed with the service appointment with any units that are on hand (hopefully all of them) and we will expedite any follow up services to ensure this customer's warranty issues are taken care of in a timely manner.  Thank you!

Window was non functioning on initial installation. Service person put cheap plastic tab on which didn't work. Service person 2 said window needed replacement. That was in early November. He was ordeing a replacement window. No contact until we called the first of January. We were told that the window was delayed because their service department closes fir the last two weeks of January and that we would hear within 7 days. Called back today after no contact and are now told that it is sitting with the supervisor. No explanation provided despite our effort more than once to get ANY answer from Service. We spent REMOVEDon windows and we expect wallside to honor their service provision. All we have received has been a runaround for months.

Thank you for reaching out. Our customer had REMOVEDinstalled on December 4, 2012 and the customer had an outstanding balance of $250.00 from their contract that they did not pay, including a returned check.  Per our contract, Section 6 states, "ll amounts is due when the installation is substantially complete. If payment is not made at that time, interest will accrue on the unpaid balance at the rate of 12%, compounded annually. There will be a fee for returned checks."  A new owner purchased the property and called Wallside for service to their windows under their warranty in March 2024, over 11 years after the initial installation.  We notified the customer they owed $250 plus interest and fees.  The customer paid $250 in March 2024, but did not pay the $670 in interest and fees incurred since 2012.  Wallside offered to reduce the amount owed to $300.

Wallside considers customers satisfaction our highest priority and can understand that there may have been miscommunication or a misunderstanding on the amount due.  With those considerations in mind, Wallside will waive the interest and fees owed and provide service to our customer under the warranty.

    Thank you!

had new windows installed by Wallside in August 2023. The installer almost left without sealing around one of the windows. They left pieces of the windows that they removed and pieces of the new windows around my garden. The most irritating part is that my windows dont lock! Also some of the upper windows slide down when we try to open them. Very poor quality. I cant tell you how many times Ive tried to get them to fix the locking and drop down issues. My home is not secure because of Wallside. When I call them they say that they dont have emergency services. They schedule me weeks out and when they come they say they need parts. I recommend finding someone else.
