I hired Elegant Floor Services to repair and refinish my hardwood floor and the floor boards are buckling and coming apart. I asked them to come back to repair one spot that was not flat. They came to fix that spot. Now there are several places where they floor is renting and raising up across the several areas. They have refused to even come to see the defective work and raised floor boards. They are uncooperative and not trustworthy and do not stand behind their work. I regret ever hiring Elegant Floor Services and would not recommend using this Floor service.

Mr. ****** lives in a small condo in ***********. When I first visited his condo to quote his work, I discovered that his floors were covered in spots w/ 'puppy pee pads', white absorbing pads where is dog was free to urinate at will. I noted to him that there's little doubt that this practice was culpable in the damage to his floors. We repaired (replaced) the damaged/stained boards then sanded and refinished his floors. He has stated repeatedly that he was happy w/ our work. Later, Mr. ****** reported that one of the repaired boards was lifting. Our crew returned and corrected that spot. I personally visited to confirm. At that time Mr. ****** complained about another spot where he perceived a 'ridge'. I told him frankly that the 'ridge' was barely visible and not actionable. Mr. ****** has continued to use the 'puppy pee pads' that I believe are the root cause of his issues. Sensing that Mr. ****** would continue to make demands, I offered him and paid him a $200 concession to part ways - he accepted. Now he's back in clear disregard of our agreement. Here's what ****** says: "Your glue-down hardwood floor is coming up due to moisture from puppy pee pads seeping through to the subfloor and causing the adhesive to fail. Urine is acidic and will degrade the adhesive over time, causing the bond to break and the wood planks to loosen or lift."
