1 starScam, complete predatory marketting gimmic with auto enrolling you into a rewards program.Christianbook
Date: 06/11/2025
Thanks for leaving feedback about our Christianbook Rewards program.
Our Christianbook Rewards program is not an auto-enrollment program, which means that members have to opt in to the program. When placing orders with us,we present an offer to receive a rebate on the order. It asks for an email address and requires that one check a box stating that they agree to the automatic billing and renewal details before clicking the join button. It also explains in bold that after the 30-day free trial there is a $16.95 monthly fee for Christianbook Rewards.

1 starSomehow I was unintentionally enrolled in the Christian **** Rewards program. The program charged me $16.95 a month for 2 months. When I reached out to the company, they cancelled the account, but said that I agreed to the charges, which I would never have done. Please help me get my money back. Total scam.Christianbook

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback about our Christianbook Rewards program. We genuinely apologize for any confusion regarding the Christianbook Rewards program and that it wasn't clear to you that you had opted to enroll in the 30-day free trial after completing your purchase. It's important to us that our offerings are clear and beneficial for our customers so we try to send email periodically about your membership status so that you're aware of your active enrollment--we're sorry you missed those.

1 starI have had a great experience with the Christian ********** but my recent purchase with next-day shipping was lacking. The representative reminded me that it takes two to three days to make an imprint, which I already knew since I've purchased 15 to 20 Bibles from this organization with imprints. I'm not sure if the screen didn't show that I was a repeat customer or if it was an oversight, but if it was, I hope I can be forgiven. Here is the rub. It's not that I missed it or that I owe the 2-day shipping regardless, even though I will receive it 7 days later from the purchase date. This order was purchased for next-day delivery (an additional $26 or so) on Wednesday, the 17th, and is due for delivery by Wednesday, the 24th. I did not realize it until I went back and looked at the receipt when I contacted them. The issue is that the "shipping date" didn't 'show until after I placed the order, and an email receipt was generated for payment remitted. Had I known that I would receive the order seven days later before I hit pay, I would have likely selected the less expensive shipping route. Maybe it's an anomaly. Customer Representative. Thank you for your feedback. We double checked your order and see that you did the express checkout option with Paypal. We placed a test order to recreate that checkout process. On the final screen with the order summary, right before one hits, the "Place Your Order" button there is some relevant information. On the top is the statement that you mentioned about personalization adding delay of several business days. Then by the shipping options in the "Shipping Method" section an estimated delivery date is quoted.
We are very sorry that at this point in the order process the computer could only provide the estimated delivery date Your patience with our process on this orders and past ones is much appreciated. We will happily refund you the cost difference between the overnight shipping you paid for and the ground shipping price. Thank you once again for your feedback.

1 starAfter dealing with this company several times and ordering various items, I became curious as to where their products originate from. I have seen many items represented as Made in *****. I am appalled that ANY ***************** would have dealings with *****, since they are a KNOWN Communist Country. To me this is a serious breach of ********* ******* If ********* ******** takes so lightly the ********* ***** so as to enter into a compromising business relationship with a pagan country, I not only question their *********ity, but doubt ANY serious intent to conduct business in any form of God-fearing practices! Our Lord commands that webe not unequally yoked together with unbelievers, and Id be hard-pressed to call ********* ***** ********* Their business practices clearly are deceptive, as I can attest, sine I was nearly deceived into signing up to participate in the same Rewards Program so many other customers of ********* **** were lulled into without being aware of the $14 - $17 per month Membership Fee! What EXACTLY is the Membership Fee for, if not to off-set the cost of the REWARDS they claim to be offering??!! IT IS A SCAM! and ********* **** .com is guilty of bilking the unsuspecting ********* public if hundreds, if not thousands of their own customers simply to make a few extra bucks. Not only so, but at least some of the Bibles that they have the audacity to sell as genuine ******************* are not only printed in *****, they contain ERRORS!! The Life in the Spirit Bible I purchased months ago is one that ***** printed and one of the ERRORS I found substituted the word grins (or smiles) for Gods term, gins, (similar to traps)! I find that error very significant! As others have already said, I will NOT be ordering from ChristianBook.com at ANY TIME IN THE FUTURE. They dont deserve even 1 STARReview fromGlenn G

1 starChristians BEWARE . Just because *********** is the name they go by , they will flat out steal drom you and here is how.Today I went online to order 10 copies of "More than a ********* " in Spanish at 4.59 per copy , when I went to "check out" my total was $140 and change . What I didn't realize is in the past , over the last how many years , I am guessing 3-4 I looked at ordering this same book I guess a few different times , "I guess " when i reviewed my order , it showed my order for 10 books today , plus 3 previous orders , totaling 12 more books . Not only did I "delete" the 12 I never pulled the trigger on , they magically reappeared and I had to delete all over again , THEN HIT the "update order " conveniently " down below on the same page . This is all intentional , meant to confuse anyone who makes the mistake to use this crooked *********** so called business . This raised my flag enough to check what their ****** AND CONDITIONS " are before I gave my email and hit the "CONTINUE" button ( which they **** you into doing to "SAVE ON SHIPPING" ) . In the ****** AND CONDITIONS " is where they HIDE YOU WILL BE BILLED AUTOMATICALLY ON A MONTHLY BASIS , my question is FOR WHAT ?? This is not isolated to this crooked company , this is a common practice these jerks use because they KNOW , no one wants to read their 3 hours worth of ****** AND CONDITIONS " to save $15.99 on shipping . Boy am I glad I did . If I could give these clowns a rating of NEGATIVE 10 I would . BEWARE , DO NOT GET SUCKED INTO BUYING ANYTHING FROM THESE JERKS !Christianbook

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review about our site. We're sorry to hear about the trouble you had with your shopping experience. There should've been an additional screen that alerted you to the fact that you had items in your Cart from a previous visit when you signed in, but we're sorry if that screen didn't function as you expected.
Regarding the Christianbook Rewards offer that you saw after completing your purchase, the payment details are listed on the offer page, but we're glad to hear that you read the terms of the program as well.
As always, we appreciate any feedback that we receive and consider it before making decisions about the future of our business.

1 starModern ********************* beyond disgusted that a company that has the word ********* in their name could have such a devious scam for unsuspecting shoppers. I just noticed a recurring $14.99 charge on my account. I backtracked and it looks like Ive been charged $14.99 for months and months as part of some membership that I was unaware I was entered into. Supposedly they have it buried with some shipping box thats checked upon checkout? I would have never intentionally signed up for a membership over buying a few books! Unbelievable and sneaky and so unchristian. Obviously, it isnt very clear when you see others complaints about the same thing. I would have spent that money on donations to a church or autism .I am in no need for a membership to a website I dont even shop at regularly. SCAM they totally scammed me along with others!Christianbook

We're really sorry to hear that it wasn't clear to you that you had enrolled in our Christianbook Rewards program when you placed your order. Before the 30 day free trial period was over, you should've been sent a reminder email alerting you that you were about to be charged, though it's possible that message could have been filtered to a spam or junk mail folder.
We'll make sure that your account is refunded for any charges relating to your Christianbook Rewards membership.

1 starAs many have stated I to found a charge for a membership on my bank account that I never signed up for. **************** is refusing to issue a refund. I'll be contacting my bank on Onday to have a reverse charge. Very sad I ordered Christmas presents from them and then get slapped with a charge I didn't authorize.Christianbook

1 starI expected more from a Christian **** company. We only wanted to return/exchange a planner. We've been customers for so many years and they have really changed. Talking to the 'customer service' representatives is pointless. They are annoyed you have emailed or called in the 1st place and unhelpful from there. When Amazon has a better policy and better customer service why would we continue to shop with people who don't even want to help with a simple exchange? If it's something this small, how would they handle anything bigger or more difficult??
