      Its a clusterf*ck. They constantly change the booking, and its always the day off or the day before, and almost never at the same location I booked.The customer service is the worst of probably any company Ive ever encountered and they do not care about customers. I was given a car with a spare tire on it, I had to avoid highways and drive slowly, and they didnt reimburse me for the extra miles or even care that theyd put my and others safety at risk. The convenience is extremely outweighed by everything thats bad.Its wild to me that a company can be this sh*tty to customers without consequences. It really ****** me off.

      The company continues to go down and down in terms of customer service and policy. When the company first started they had a very friendly customer service with the goal of always taking care of their customers. I spend over $3,000 a year in zipcar and I'm on the phone with their customer service for almost every trip with a problem that they never solve anymore. For example, they charge a $50 late fee if you bring your back after your reserved time. This is understandable during busy times like from 8am-6pm. But one time I brought back my car 39 minutes late and it was 11:40 and the refused to accomdate a high-usage customer like myself. Also, in the city I live, the zipcar spot is always taken when I come home to return the car. So I'm forced to either park illegally, because all parking is paid parking in my city, or I have to take the car to a parking garage. I choose the parking garage every time because I don't want to get a parking ticket. So now they make me pay for the garage parking. But it's not my fault because the zipcar spot is always taken. Why should I pay for the company's problems? The company has turned into the old fashioned car rental companies that "nickle and dime" their customers and treat them like they are servants to the company.

      Do not work with this company. They stole $70 from me for an after I had zero business relationship with them for over 3+ years despite countless hours on the phone, including where their own representative admitted they had a data issue which caused them to charge a number of credit cards inadvertently. When I disputed the charge, they funny enough accused me of fraud. What is more upsetting is that they try to hide their unethical business practices behind a mask of "we are a nice *************** company" and "we believe in a shared future". Do not trust this company.

      They are a horrible company. They allowing people to pay for vehicle but not doing service or maintenance. i rented a vehicle and the brakes was completely gone, grinding metal to metal. i reported it to them they simply allowed the car to be rented to the next person. they dont inform you if the car is there or not! they take so long to reimburse your funds and on top of everything when you constantly make reports they will discontinue your membership! Do not rely on these vehicles if there is something important! ohhhh and the vehicles parked in garages forget about getting access and zip car dont have any information of how to get inside the location where you vehicle is. They customer service is all arabic people that have no clue. They also stop taking phones after 1 am. THE WORST COMPANY EVER!!!

      ZERO stars. The absolute worst experience with a rental agency. Ever. DON'T EVEN BOTHER I had to cancel my account within the first month because of some technical glitch on my account not allowing me to book that no one could solve. Long story short- I tried to book my first car and kept getting an error message asking me to update my payment information. I went through 7 cards, business and personal, debit and credit and NONE worked. I had plenty of funds. I called my bank and they informed me they couldn't even see the transactions being attempted. There was an issue on the Zipcar side that basically failed the transaction before it could even reach the bank end. I spoke with 4 different reps on 2 different days. I eventually got a ticket opened that took 4 days to process and they marked it as solved claiming "it was insufficient funds, and now your account will be suspended until you pay what is past due". When I logged in there was no trace of anything being owed, all transactions marked as complete. So I then had to call the service number AGAIN and go through the EXACT same process. I was told "ignore the message" This was what they came up with after an hour of trouble shooting. "Ignore the message and try again." I asked them what I'm supposed to do about the fact that I just can't book a car. The rep couldn't even book a car from my account. No one can figure out the reason. Guess what... time for a "new ticket". This went through another run around. No one cared that I told them I had spoke with the bank. That my cards were active with plenty of funds. That I was using them all day/ the following week. Just "ignore the message, call your bank, try again". After a few hours of NO solution I just got them to cancel my membership and refund my first month's subscription. I can't even imagine what a nightmare it would be trying to work with them if you actual car had an issue. Cool business model. Total garbage system/service.

      They falsely advertise that most applications are approved within minutes and you only pay a monthly fee. Turns out that they only tell you they charge an additional application and other fees after you are done with the application and most applications were taking FOUR days to complete. If you need a car quickly, dont rely on their fraudulent advertising. I called ten minutes after applying and finding this out and they refused to refund the charges even though they hadnt done anything with my application. They later tried to claim I was randomly selected for a manual review, but my perfect record wouldnt need four days regardless. This was all a lie since the first guy admitted most applications were taking the longer time-which is never mentioned as a possibility on their website or advertising.

      It is very hard to ************ in my city. Even though it said, the membership can be refundable in 30 days. But, if you use it once, it is not refundable even in 30 days. This is not written in any terms. The issue is that if I do not use it, how do I know if it is good or not? So, literally, the refunding policy is cheating. So, if you live in a city with a small number of zip cars, I do not recommend you use it. It is a total waste of your money.

      Zipcar rents their vehicles with expired registration. Some of the vehicles don't even have proof of insurance. a few hours into my first time renting a Zipcar I was driving and realized when looking into using the Zipcar for Uber over a weekend and realized that the registration was 3 months past. 2 weeks later I had rented another Zipcar discovered that the vehicle's registration was 8months expired. They offered me a half an hour extension. If I would have had gotten pulled over for the company's negligence my privilege to drive would have been in Jeopardy. The first time they had me swap the vehicle out for another one. I had to drop off the vehicle and take a Uber to the next vehicles location. They did offer any reimbursement for that ride. The company should be fined for this.

      Absolute worst customer service experience. Im so highly disappointed in this company. Im watching it go downhill and will not spend another dime on your horrible business!! I will inform the world of how you treat your customers and would not EVER recommend! I will be posting my TRUE disgusting experience on every platform I can because you all cannot get away with this! Especially someone who was once a member for a while and this is what I sign back up to? You cant blame the pandemic for HORRIBLE service especially from the SUPERVISOR!! A simple fix has to turn into a horrible time consuming experience from an issue YOU ALL CAUSED!!!!

      Their email/text system is so antiquated that I couldn't get into my account to rent a car. I tried to cancel the service before I was able to get registered and they charged me the 25 dollar fee. I never was able to use a car in the time I was visiting ******* and was charged! Zip Car advertises that you can sign up and drive a car in the same day and you can't It's false advertising and a sneeky way to **** $25 dollars from people. Terrible company.
