LAC conveniently boasts they offer daycare services, for a FEE (this service is not included like at many other gyms) yet the cut off for supervision is 6 years old. They recommend 7-13 year old children to be left alone, unsupervised inside the lobby facilities of the gym. Yet, they charge a fee for your child to join. How is this even legal, let alone in the best interest of...anyone? I would really like this looked into. They suggest giving your child an ipad to use while you work out. If you haven't been inside LAC, it's huge. As a parent who does not feel comfortable leaving my 7 year old alone, this severely limits the space I can use bc i have to be in close proximity. Why would they charge a fee for this? And honestly, is this legal? Next rant- the PAID daycare "Service" for 6mo- 6 years. I have a 2.5 year old. LAC has a 10 minute crying policy that they STRICTLY enforce.. which means, without fail, 10 minutes after i drop my toddler off at the gym- they call me to come right back. It seems they dont even try to console her, they just call the manager and he calls me to come pick her up. Its absolutely pointless on both ends...yet they charge for this membership/daycare too? Frustrated b/c I can never get a workout in, not even 30 minutes, because of these insane childcare restrictions that I pay for, they quickly suggest cancelling our membership. It is obvious we are just a 'number' in the system. 7 years old are too old for supervision and toddlers aren't allowed to cry. I am not the only parent with this complaint. So many red flags here and causes for concern- can someone please help me understand how this is allowable?
