We don’t write negative reviews but we wanted to make sure others don’t fall for this scam.
Absolutely disgusted with the sales agent Laurel H*** at Northbrook Place in Plano. She played us for over a week, manipulated the process and finally contracted with a different buyer. She was dishonest, nontransparent, manipulative and had no decency. Drees and its sales team failed us! We spent time, energy, resources and emotions. When we voiced our frustration, she attacked us in her text message. We have been residing in Plano for over 25 years and don’t want this kind of sham businesses in our town. Don’t recommend to deal with Laurel H*** or any Drees new construction site period! Our advice: stay away!!
I wish ****** had a zero rating option.

Drees home building is not the top notch builders as I thought they were. First, crooked foundation forms, unlevel, roof trusses, paid 176k for upgrades like insulation in the interior walls. We came while the sheet rocking crew was working only to see these people putting up our sheet rock on walls where the insulation had fallen out of; 6k for this and crappy work. Sheet rocking crew covered multiple switches and outlets which caused bowing of baseboards. I complain and I’m told the electricians will uncover; yeah and the baseboards will remain bowed. Covered lighting wires, covered speaker boxes, gouged cabinets, cabinets with multiple large holes cut out underneath. Had huge pieces of sheetrock removed and studs dug into causing lost integrity of the wall, and I have constantly had to reach out to my builder with multiple concerns. I blame the incompetence of the crew hired by Drees and lack of attention to detail. There is no checks and balances and in the end, I feel we spent 800k on a DR H quality built home. We went with Drees because we trusted we’d be getting a awesome quality forever home and each day becomes more disheartening than the last. I’m done with all these cookie cutter builders, they’re all the same and we honestly thought Drees would have been different. You all badly need to lessen the homes to Drees builder to allow them better over site and have better attention to thier responsible homes. And FIRE those vendors that are incompetent and cover outlets and complete work that will cause issues. Such as having botched cabinets put in or the cabinet crew installs cabinets covering exhaust vents. These issues should be rectified prior and noted before the next phase begins. We now have to purchase an 800k home with missing insulation, bowed baseboards, and multiple patches throughout our home. Lastly, these workers left food in various pockets, didn’t know an ant farm came with purchase. Absolutely sad and greatly disappointed with our build

INCORRECT HVAC SIZE IN NEW HOME – My Drees home was built in 2012. I purchased it from the original owner in 2015. My HVAC system has been serviced annually by a bonded and insured heating and air company. The heat exchanger in my HVAC recently failed annual inspection. A heat exchanger is equivalent to an engine in a vehicle, meaning it is the heart of the system and cost-prohibitive to replace. While failing, it also leaks carbon monoxide into the home, thus a very serious issue. The industry standard life expectancy for a HVAC system is 15-20 years--mine failed at almost 10 years. My HVAC company said it failed because the furnace and air conditioner were both originally SIZED TOO SMALL FOR THE HOME; to wit, approximately half the size required for the square footage of my home, which caused the heat exchanger to prematurely fail. I didn’t realize it, but my furnace was showing signs years earlier, such as the furnace faulting when the house got too cold, and the HVAC not being able to keep up with more extreme temps in the summer and winter. Consequent to my failed inspection, I received three independent, written analyses from HVAC companies confirming the inadequate HVAC size. The installer (name not relevant) claimed no responsibility, saying the HVAC sizing was done by Airtron Heating & Air, Cincinnati, OH, contracted by Drees Homes. I filed a complaint with Drees Customer Service, who agreed to inquire with Airtron, and Drees verbally stated that, if the HVAC was confirmed to be undersized they would consider compensation. A few days later, Drees abruptly dropped my complaint without sufficient explanation after they failed to keep their promise to determine from Airtron whether the HVAC was correctly or incorrectly sized. I want other Drees Homes customers to be aware that this could happen to them, and to check their HVAC to determine if it is correctly sized, and to act ASAP, especially since Drees still uses Airtron to size their new homes.

Drees Homes has terrible customer service. My home has flooded 10 times in the first 4 years and they don't care about fixing the problem. They say it's bad toilet paper usage. Houses don't flood 10 times because of toilet paper. Terrible company. Run! Don't buy a home from them

***** – We take notes like this very seriously as we're always looking for ways to enhance our customer experience. Our Customer Care team has carefully reviewed your concern with professional plumbing partners and concluded that the pipes were installed correctly. They determined that use of flushable wipes could be leading to an atypical back-up. As we have shared with you previously, we are happy to correct any issue should the county examine your home and find something wrong with the installation.
