Predatory company that tries to waive all your rights as a buyer. Uses the cheapest unskilled contractors and asks for maximum price for a home. Their homes become biohazards in only few years due to severe construction errors and the company does not care. Their contracts protect them from you taking them to court or doing a class action lawsuit. Their homes are moldy to the core, their management evil to the core. In any other civilized country this kind of business would’ve lost its operating license forever. The state of Texas should protect people from companies like this but they don’t.

Constant problems since we moved into our home in April. Construction manager seems incompetent and warranty/customer service *****. To get issues fixed has been like pulling teeth! Often times when they say someone will be there to fix it no one shows up and no one lets us know they are not going to show up. Then when this happens the construction manager attempted to fix the issues themselves and did not fix it correctly or even messed it up more. I have had to just fix a bunch of things myself since they are incapable. You know its bad when the construction manager doesnt even know how to do the job!One of the issues they forgot to put an entire AC duct in for our 3rd bedroom. Multiple people passed this at inspection. Crazy how many incompetent people were involved! When working with warranty about it, ***** (warrenty manager) mentioned this happens sometimes and basically that it wasnt that big of a deal. That right there tells you all you need to know about Drees. When reaching out about issues with warranty/customer service they often try to spin it back on the home owner being at fault.0/10 would not recommend Drees to family, friends or strangers. Truly disappointing in every way. I have had homes built with other builders and did not have any issues like this. Drees truly sucks! Do not buy with them.

Our Drees home has been officially deemed unlivable due to widespread toxic mold, a direct consequence of significant construction negligence. As of June 2025, despite these three failed remediation efforts, our home remains contaminated with toxic mold. This is not an isolated incident. We have communicated with at least ten other Drees homeowners within two sections of the ********* subdivision, all of whom have either experienced or are currently battling mold issues. Furthermore, I have spoken with Drees homeowners in ****** subdivisions who invested over one million dollars in their properties, only to find them uninhabitable due to mold. In our case, Drees replaced HVAC units and added spray foam to the attic, but critically, they never gutted the contaminated walls and ceilings where the mold originated and proliferated. Adding to our concerns, an investigation initiated by me with the ******************************************** (****) has unearthed troubling evidence. This investigation revealed that companies paid by Drees have issued fraudulent clearance letters, falsely claiming our home was free of elevated mold levels. In another alarming instance, a Dallas-based company, also a **** mold advisory board member, issued a six-page report to Drees stating our home was mold-free and required no remediation. However, this company never physically visited our home to conduct an investigation or perform required mold testing, a mandatory protocol for ************* Mold Consultants. Despite presenting Drees with independent mold testing reports confirming the continued presence of mold and formally requesting that they engage a new, competent remediation company, they are now exhibiting significant delays and a lack of action. Compounding these issues, we have recently discovered that our property also has foundation ************ have been warned!

Drees Homes received a warranty claim from the homeowners which related to alleged visible mold growth, and concerns with respect to the air quality at the interior of the home. In response, Drees commissioned several qualified consultants and vendors to promptly investigate the subject matter of the homeowners’ warranty claims, develop a remedial plan to address both the alleged visible mold growth able to be verified and the homeowners interior air quality concerns, and execute the plan pursuant to Drees Homes’ warranty process. In the course of the remedial plan’s execution, the homeowners presented Drees with new documents and information (on more than one occasion) which broadened/modified the scope of their original warranty claim, and therefore, led to a broadening/modification of the remedial plan to be executed in response to the same. Drees Homes views their/their consultants’ willingness and ability to adjust in real-time to the homeowners broadening of their warranty claims as a commitment to resolving the homeowners warranty claims, rather than a failure or negative act or omission of any kind.
Upon completion of the remedial plan responsive of the homeowners’ warranty claims then pending, Drees was advised by its consultants that the air quality in the home was at an acceptable range (i.e., acceptable for occupation) and the locations within the home made subject of the homeowners’ warranty claims then pending had been appropriately remediated. Currently, the homeowners have submitted additional claims to Drees under warranty. Drees remains committed to the warranty claim process as to each such claim, and to this end, is presently in continuing communication with the homeowners and/or their representative to schedule initial inspections with respect to the same.

We purchased a townhome in the ********************************** in *******. This was a well thought out purchase because my elderly mother also purchased one in the same neighborhood so we could be close to her. Sever pitting of the driveway started to occur within the first 3 months of our closing. Drees refuses to do anything about it. They keep bringing up the warranty statement about pitting but this is not just minor pitting and for the amount of money both my mom and i have spent, you would thing a reputable company would do the right thing and address our concerns. The driveway is the first thing you notice when entering the house and it is very embarrassing to have people visit and the first thing asked is what happened to your driveway? This is our 7th home we have built with various builders and Drees is the first one to not stand behind there name. Very disappointed in Drees for not doing the right thing.

POOR QUALITY CONTROL & POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I purchased a brand new Drees townhouse in the ************** neighborhood in ********, ** in 2015. I've had to correct 4 deficiencies at considerable cost. 1. The rain gutter and barrier were installed in reverse order, causing drips, staining, and potentially rot. I asked for it to be inspected within the first year of ownership and ******* said he would 'send a guy out' but never did. 2. Failure to remove the plastic from the roof vent for the dryer nearly caused a fire in the attic - there were burn marks and it burned out the dryer sensor. 3. I had to replace the dishwasher in the second year due to a burned out motor caused by improper installation (on a tilt vs evenly). 4. I was forced to remodel the master bathroom after tiles floor tiles popped off in year 2 of ownership and an improperly installed shower door caused leakage onto the floor; the tile was installed directly on plywood sub-floor - no concrete barrier. ******* informed me that their "market research" indicated new home buyers remodel the *** within the first 5 years which justifies their shoddy work. I don't mind giving them a higher rating if they would agree to rectify the gutter issue. The roof looks to be in good shape.

We purchased a market home in the ********** Community from Dress 10/23. We reported within 30 days an issue with water sitting on our property line. ***** from Dress said they could take a look in the spring of 2024 to resolve. Spring comes around and ***** and ***** both state we will try to divert the water however we will not fix the issues until the lot next to you is sold. The lot sales and we inquire again and are now told we put our fence in the easement which is why the water wasn't draining from the property the aluminum fence was causing the water to stand. We then get an email from ***** stating he will take care of it and takes ownership of the issue as the new home next to us is being constructed. The new home is built and the issue still exist they never fixed the grading on the property line. We asked for ***** and ***** to come to the property. They came over and told us that we was informed by Drees to build the fence 12-24 inches in from the property line which never occurred. The we was told we should have had a reputable fence company which we did. Then we was told water can sit for 72 hours on your property. As they continue to insult us and yell I called their corporate office and was told both of their manager would contact me. ***** did call and spoke for 10 min said he had a meeting and would call back and stop over the following week but he never called nor showed up to our property. I sent another message to their corporate office and never heard back. The lack of accountability and ownership of issues in this community by the Drees Care team and the Construction manager is disappointing considering the price point you pay for your home. Had we not reported this and was told over and over again it would be addressed but now they refuse to do anything about it!

Drees built my new home. It had enclosed patio so they built steps down Toto my yard for my dog. The steps cost me 3500 additional. They were not sanded or stained. Just rough boards.

We purchased a new build market home in June 2023 in the ********** community. Since then, we've had numerous roof leaks, only one of which has been fixed at no cost to us. We finally had another company come out today (after drees told us they would no longer do anything when we kept discovering new water damage) and he told us the shingles were placed incorrectly, so driving rain is able to get into our house. They also didn't seal the ventilation pipes or the chimney correctly when they built the house. They also refuse to take accountability for it. Do not use this company!

I do not recommend Drees. I just signed a contract to build a patio home in Drees ********* Community. Days later I was informed that Drees VP would not sign the contract because the lot I selected was in a cul-de-sac & the elevation I selected did not meet their cul-de-sac guidelines. The problem is...THE LOT I SELECTED IS NOT IN A CUL-DE-SAC! However, Drees VP still says no. See for yourself at **** **** ***** **** ********* ***

We purchased a new build from Drees in *********, ** in Feb 2022 and I would advise everyone to avoid them. There are so many disappointing issues, and their warranty service is a nightmare to deal with. They take no ownership, and defer everything to their subcontractors, which were incompetent in my experience when dealing with our leaking windows.

Yea, the windows are fixed but the process by which we achieved that was lengthy, time consuming, and required me to miss work many many days as a result from needing to be home. More importantly, the windows look very poor. The silicone is grossly visible in some areas, some of the vinyl framing was sliced off, and a few other items which dont look like it should for a new build home. Actually, it shouldnt even look like this for an older home that got windows replaced. Its just bad. There are a bunch of other things in the home too that don't look good. Since you replied to this message, I will list some of them. The black plastic that seals the foundation is visible along the perimeter of my home. It looks bad. The large beam in my vaulted living room has such terrible contrasting wood tones that Ive been told by visitors it looks unprofessional. The temperature in my front room is significantly different from the rest of the house and imbalanced which causes it to be either way too hot or way too cold depending on the season. The problem is some of these items should be so obvious to folks that are involved in building homes and do this every day, but you clearly dont hold yourself to a high standard because you have left these things the way they are. Just overall extremely disappointing.
