The worst service and internet I’ve ever had. I moved from Texas to Arizona and have been here a year. My apartment is contracted with Cox and so I have to use it which already irritates me. Last year I went to the cox store and had to purchase a router for my apartment after I was told repeatedly that there should have been a modem there when there was not. I paid, brought it home, and tried to set it up with no success and called for them help. Was told someone would have to come out to help and had to schedule an appointment. Finally got everything set up several days later and working. This weekend I moved to a new unit in the same complex. The week before I requested service transfer to my new unit. Received confirmation that everything was ready to go from an account stand point. Went to connect the modem today and couldn’t get connected. It’s Sunday so all of them are closed and no one’s on the phone so I spoke to several agents via live chat. SPECIFICALLY SAID WE MOVED UNITS SAME COMPLEX I NEED MY HELP WITH MY MODEM, THE SERVICE SHOULD BE ALREADY TRANSFERRED TO THIS UNIT VIA MY ACCOUNT. The live agent then proceeded to CANCEL my account altogether, telling my they just needed to turn off the service at the old apartment to start the service in the new apartment. Transferred me to account services to verify all my account information and was then transferred to tech again. New agent then says we can’t connect our previous modem THAT I PAID FOR because the new unit “should have come with its own unique router” and I can confirm IT DID NOT. so I explain everything from above and asks why I can’t just use the modem that I bought from cox. The person was rude and unhelpful. They told us we cancelled our services, I can assure you sir I did not cancel anything, the moron before you did apparently and now they are making us pay 50 to make a new account and get a new modem. Literally the worst service experience ever

I had Cox Internet and was very satisfied. So after 25 years with AT&T Mobile, when Cox offered a great package deal to move to Cox Mobile, I decided to try it knowing they were using Verizon towers. The service was not good. So on 3 May 2024, I decided to transfer back to AT&T.

In doing the transfer, Cox provided a transfer pin to use when ready to make the transfer.
But instead, Cox immediately disconnected my mobile service leaving me and my wife with no way to communicate with anyone or each other since we don't have a land line. I spent 7 hours away trying to get Cox to release the lines while working with AT&T. During this time, my wife was panicking since she couldn't reach me using neighbors' phones.

Now, all attempts by me and AT&T to get Cox to release the lines have failed(even though they have disconnect them) and this section of Cox Mobile doesn't work on weekends.

This is a new service(Mobile) Cox is offering. This is not the way to treat customers when you are trying to develop a new business line. Based upon this experience, I would not recommend Cox Mobile. But their Internet Service has been fine.

Cox customer service is horrible. Talked to 6 people today. My bill was supposed to be lowered to $60 when I called 3/15 noticed my bill was not lowered. Went through chat got no help. Called a live person, transferred to another person Rhonda then transferred to manager Barbara then she accidentally hung up on me a didn’t call back. So called again so I am at an hour on the phone, spoke to another person Joshua then transferred to another person whom refused to transfer me to a manager. Sucks I am happy with the internet service but can get no help on billing. I was told 3/15/24 my bill would be lowered from $60 to $90 a month. Was not lowered. Went through so many hoops and did not get help. Cox is about to loose a loyal for many years customer!

I work from home to internet in vital part of my life at home, when I got cox they had constant outages, at one point one of they’re outages lasted two days, when I am experiencing outages I am unable to complete my work and it was causing issues at my workplace, putting me in a risky position at work, I was forced to find another internet provider that was more reliable. When I called to cancel they informed me I would need to bring the equipment in to UPS or a Cox store - in the past when I had to leave cox they had a tech come out for free to pick up their equipment- so when they informed me of this I was very put off. I had just missed a day of work due to the outages experienced the day before, I lost $200 worth of income for missing due to not having internet, and then when I finally call to disconnect they wanted me to spend more of my time and money on gas to return they’re equipment. I was on the phone with customer service for over 2hours trying to get someone to send a tech out to pick up they’re equipment, they refused and one of their representatives actually at one point hung up on me when I respectfully asked to speak to her manager about the issue. This entire experience was completely unacceptable. If there are other providers in your area, try to get with them instead of this horrible company!

Everyday at 3pm I get shut off and rebooted. Not sure why. But if you want TV or download speeds in the afternoon this is not a good service for you! They have a governor on your shit!

A 30 day reviewed this. From an actual user.

I had a terrible experience trying to cancel my service. I struggled with unstable services and daily short outages, they would never help me. When I finally found an alternative service and called to cancel, they informed me that they needed 30 days notice, so I would be charge an extra month. I also have to bring the router to a UPS store to return it. If they pick it up it would be a $100 charge. Overall, the pricing for a business internet service is ridiculous, all while delivering unstable service and frequent outages.

My cox internet went out on 3/25. I made an appointment on 3/26 for the following day. The tech showed up and was very nice but told me the cables outside my condo were bad and he would refer it to their construction dept. I heard nothing back and called cust service on 4/1. Justin made another tech appointment for 4/2 even though I told him it was useless. The tech showed up and told me he could do nothing. He said they had tried to call me the previous week. I had no missed call or message. He said his supervisor said to keep my phone near and answer everything. No one called. I cancelled today and booked with AT&T wireless. No more Cox!!!!!!

They basically have a monopoly on the Arizona market and without competitors we as customers are stuck with probably the most inconsistent/low quality service of any internet provider. I have lived in several states for work thus had several different internet companies COX is the only service that you can expect outages 2/3rds of the time. They were disappointing in 2019 when i first moved here, disappointing when i left in 2023, they are equally disappointing upon my return a year and a half later. Definitely not a company I would recommend for people who work from home, gamers, people who stream movies/tv shows or have kids. Disappointed, however, not surprised.

If you have any other choice do not use cox. We have the most expensive package, we definitely do not get the amount they say. Outages constantly, unstable connections, disconnecting when trying to download but not while doing other things? Screams fishy. Disgusting business practices like high sales quota for MAINTENANCE workers. Absolutely horrendous customer service.

Great if you want to pay SLIGHTLY less than other ISP’s and experience average or sub par performance about 75% of the time. The other 25% is nothing but downtime for non fiber users. Fiber is decent if it’s even in your area, however even then be ready for the monthly outages that tend to last at bare minimum 5 hours if you’re lucky, some take up to 2 days for the internet to be stable again. Customer service is ok if you get ahold of the right tech, they’ll help you out as much as they can but can only do a few “checks” or “tests” and if either of those pass they’ll tell you everything’s working properly, just to give you hope before experiencing more issues. Not worth the price you pay unless fiber is in your area and you don’t mind monthly downtime.
