On 09/09/2022, I received an email from Halsted Financial Services, LLC. They alleged that I owe $717.66. They alleged that they are collecting this debt on behalf of **************** N.A. At first I thought that it was spam, but then I realized that it is a false claim. I want them to get rid of this account information, unsubscribe me, and delete all of my private information, including the false information, my contact information, and any credit-related information they have for me. This is a false claim and they do not have the legal authority to hold my financial or contact information. it is a violation of my privacy and an attempt to collect money that I DO NOT OWE. I have received two letters from this company addressed to my ex girlfriend from over 4 years ago. I know it was them because a quick search of the ** box number on the return address showed the company. After the first letter, I called and told them she doesn't, and hasn't ever lived here and they said they would remove me from their mailing list. Upon receipt of the second letter, my wife called them and the first person she spoke to told her to open the letter to get the reference number and throw it away after (she refused because we both know that is a crime). I've tried speaking to their team because I want to know:A) How my address was obtained and attached to this B) What can be done to prevent my ex from obtaining my address C) Why I am still being contacted after the first letter and call This feels like a massive breach of ethics. I'm assuming since I recently purchased my home, and my ex's name come up in a credit report as being close to her that someone just slapped my address on it in hopes to contact her to get her to contact them. I am rejecting this response because:
This answer is not acceptable answer. Of course I nor my Business National Equity Recovery Services have no account with this company!! This is why ***** Fargo flagged the fraud electronic check that Halsted tried to post!! It is clear that HALSTED FINANCIAL somehow obtained our checking account info and then tried to fraudulently cash the attached electronic check. Again, this was confirmed by my bank ***** Fargo, and they are investigating also, looking into charges against this company.FYI: The attached illegal posting for $2,236 clearly shows that ******** Financial tried to fraudulently obtain $ 2,236.This is just terrible and I kindly please ask the BBB to take this seriously and take further action against this company. Reminder, I tied to confront this company on the phone, and they hung up on me when I tried to talk to a manager, so how are they taking this seriously?

The basis for my dispute {comname},HALSTED FINANCIAL SERVIC,30871763,$914 - was required to notify me prior to 03/24/2022, or no later than 30 days after. HALSTED FINANCIAL SERVICfailed to notify me about reporting derogatory info. to Equifax, Experian, and Transunion In section 603(p) 15 U.S.C. ss 168s-2(a)(7)(A)(I); The notice required under subparagraph (A) shall be provided to the customer prior to, or no later than 30 days after 03/24/2022, furnishing the negative derogatory information to a consumer reporting agency described in section 603 (p), 15 U.S.C. ss 1681s-2(a)(7)(B)(I). Plus broke commercial law under UCC ***** that all notices were timely and properly given by dated certified mail receipt. They were not met. I asked for documentation & received no response. Also, HALSTED FINANCIAL SERVIC" failed to give me my ************** five days prior to placing this derogatory item on all of my credit reports, per Section *************** 809, which is $1000 per violation and the *********** allows treble damages.Under 809.
