This collection company keeps harassing me with claiming I owe money to a Hospital that is not even in the state I reside in. I have called them multiple times telling them to remove my number from their system. They are texting me asking for a person under a different name with is a potential HIPAA violation and if communication does not cease I will be contacting officials to make a formal HIPAA complaint for a company reaching out for medical reasons to an individual who has reported they are not the person in question. I continue to receive emails for a card that I do not have that this company says they handle payments for now. This card it is referred to is not on my credit report. I googled the company to see if it is real and then called.The woman acted like she couldnt hear me and I spoke up and then she hung up. I called the number back again and a man answered and then after he said his greeting the phone hung up.In the email, it says I had last made a payment November 2009 on the card and it was for $209. It says the total balance is $440.I believe this to be a scam.I do not have such credit card. In the last several weeks I have received numerous text messages asking me to contact ******** Financial either via a website or 800 number to make payment arrangements for my outstanding debt. I have neither received written notice of any outstanding debt due to any creditor (as required by law) nor due I owe anything to anyone. These text messages are unfounded and seem to be a fear tactic to get people to pay money they don't owe simply to make them stop.My phone number is on the National Do Not Call registry and should not be available for use.Business Response

I received an email today from Halsted Financial Services claiming that I owe money on an account I have never had. The text of the email is below; in it they claim that the original debt was with LVNV. I received this email on Sept. 1, 2023. Between November 2022 and March 2023, I received 50 emails from two other companies, Resurgent and **********, claiming I owed money on a debt related to this supposed account, originally a *********** Platinum account. I have never had a *********** Platinum account. In one of these emails they gave a ********* address as the address on file for me. I have never lived in *********. In these emails they have repeatedly used a middle initial for me that is not in fact my middle initial, and never has been. In one email they stated that if I notified them by March 2023 to dispute the debt, that they would have to stop all attempts to collect it until they showed me information proving I owed it. I notified them on March 20, 2023. After that I didn't hear anything about this until today, Sept. 1, 2023, the email pasted below. They have not provided any additional information and are again claiming I owe the debt.The text of the email I received from Halsted is as follows (note that my initial is incorrect in their correspondence to me -- 'M' is neither my middle initial nor my last initial; also note that I have had no "prior communication" with them, and have not made any payments to them):Dear **********,Per our prior communication, your ***********, N.A. (Platinum) account is now being handled by our office. You do have payment options which can be viewed at info.halstedfinancial.com.We have limited time to work with you before returning your account to our client.We understand that you were previously making payments on this. I've been receiving emails from Halsted Financial Services, LLC trying to collect a debt for $1,128.33. After reaching out to them by phone, I was immediately transferred to a 'Manager' by the name of *******. After asking numerous times to get something physically through the mail the Manager refused to and instead kept asking to 'send it through email as it's alot faster', and we basically kept going back and fourth. This behavior was really shady in a sense that I do believe I am *********** a verification of the debt, and even asked for a break down of why it was so high. After ending the call, I reached out to the original creditor on my account and explained the situation, where they informed me that I was *********** receive a letter. This was pretty crazy to me, as I was willing to work out something to settle that debt if it could be verified, but was instead met with sales tactics to get me to just pay out instead of getting some type of validation or proof I actually had the debt, as I never got anything through the mail physically.Business Response

On 8/8/23 Halsted Financial issued a digital request to my checking account for $745.12 which was paid by my bank. I had no idea what this business was until I googled them and had never been contacted by them. The draft does not inform as to what it was for. The draft was digitally made payable to them, signed by them, stating under authority for me. I have never given such authority, have never, in my life, signed or written a check and the account used is not even mine but my wife's. We have not had any debt owing or overdue in over 40 years, if ever. I need the money returned and punitive consequences levied against them.Business Response

This reply is in response to a consumer complaint filed by ********************************* against Halsted Financial Services, LLC., where ****************** rejected our initial response. To be clear,Halsted Financial Services, LLC, denies all allegations of wrongdoing.
Upon further review of this matter, we found there were two payments set up through our online portal in amount of $745.12, each, and both these payments were declined by the respective financial institution from which they were drawn. In as much, Halsted Financial Services never received any funds from these transactions.
Additionally,despite the consumers desired resolution, due to Federal Law and privacy concerns, we are unable to disclose the identity of the account holder to which the payments were associated, but based on the complaint, it appears that someone may have used the consumers financial information, without authorization, for their own benefit. To reiterate, Halsted Financial Services, LLC has not and will not report this to any consumer credit reporting agencies.
