The following describes a pending government action that has been formally brought by a government agency but has not yet been resolved. We are providing a summary of the government’s allegations, which have not yet been proven.
On 1/13/2025, the Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a lawsuit against Allstate and its subsidiary, Arity ("Allstate"), for unlawfully collecting, using, and selling data about the location and movement of Texans' cell phones through secretly embedded software in mobile apps, such as Life360. The lawsuit also alleges that Allstate and other insurers used the data to justify raising Texans' insurance rates. The matter is pending. For more details, click here.
