My review is much like the others. The *** warranty department is dishonest and telling customers random things just to get them off the phone. They are purposely saying things they know isnt true and they think its funny. I called the warranty department June 9 because our zero turn riding lawn mower stopped working after less than 5 hours of use. Paid $5800+ for it. The guy told us the mower would be picked up and to wait for a call from carrier to pick it up. June 12th. Called back to check on pick up status. I was told that I needed to go get a UHaul and load up the mower and take it to a warranty department 1-1.5 hours away. I told him as a female that I didnt think I could get the riding lawn mower on the UHaul and he told me to have more of a can do attitude and get other people to help me. I was told I would be reimbursed for all my expenses. This seemed shady as we were just told on June 9 that someone would pick it up. I explained to him that I was not comfortable with trying to load a riding lawn mower into a UHaul. Suddenly he said oh I see. They are coming tomorrow at 12-4 pm. It seemed odd, but we said ok. We waited the next day and no one can from 12-4. June 13th. Called back and got the number to the company that picks up the riding lawn mowers. I called them and they said they sent the paperwork to *** to approve a pick up, but they hadnt approved it yet. Meaning - the guy that told me to wait 4 hours at my house for the lawnmower to be picked up was purposely lying to us. I have disputed the charge on my American Express because I dont have any faith in this company to be truthful and we only used the mower once and it broke. BEWARE of this company and the warranty people they train and employ. Case # ********Initial Complaint

I bought the Ego 56 volt push mower four years ago. It worked fine until last summer, when it started shutting off, especially after hitting a tiny bump. I have to open the battery compartment and move the battery around, and then it will start again. I have called Ego twice and was told it is the handles that need to be extended fully. I have made sure the handles are extended fully, and it is still shutting off all the time, making mowing in the hot sun a real pain in the ****. Upon Googling and YouTubing this, it is a known issue, and Ego has been unwilling to offer a fix for it.Initial Complaint

I purchased an Ego Power+ mower from ****** (receipt attached) on 8/6/2023. I used the mower maybe 10 times total. It stopped working on 4/30/24. I registered the mower/battery and submitted a claim on 4/30/24. It has been with ****'s Small Engine in *************, ** since 5/1/24. It is waiting on a back ordered part, with no defined date of delivery or resolution. I would like to return the mower for a full refund or replacement, as I have been unable to mow my lawn for almost 2 months. I have had to pay a contractor to mow the lawn weekly for the last 6 weeks.Initial Complaint

I purchased an *** LM2100 lawnmower at ********** in April, 2020. In June of 2021, *** agreed to replace a defective battery that came with the mower. I received the replacement battery (serial number *** ************* on June 17, 2021. This battery will no longer charge fully, usually charging to only 60%. Consequently, the battery last only about 30 minutes, whereas it used to last ***** minutes. I contacted *** to have this battery replaced, as it is within the 3-year battery warranty period as shown on the *** website. The person I spoke with at *** customer service insisted the warranty only applies to the original date of purchase. ***'s warranty page only states warranties apply to the original purchaser, saying nothing about the original date of purchase. The two *** customer service reps I spoke with said a supervisor would be contacting me, but none ever has. The case number with *** is 02181765.I'm only asking that *** honor its 3-year battery warranty, and replace the defective battery they sent me in June, 2021.Initial Complaint

Ego is not honoring a valid warranty claim on their 10 amp hour battery. They ask for information they already have(such as a receipt) which was provided at the time of product registration. Then when you provide the info again, they do not respond. It is clear that they want to discourage people from following up with their claims. I had to buy a lawn mower to cut my grass because their battery failed.Initial Complaint

I purchased a new ego mower from Lowes last year that came with a 10 amp battery. The battery is not working now. When I called customer service they were extremely rude and tried to tell me my product is out of warranty because it was purchased from *********** It was not, I purchased it from Lowes. Then he proceeds to tell me that there is no purchase date attached to my mower while being extremely rude and condescending.Initial Complaint

I purchased my EGO mower 7/6/2020, company has a 5 year limited warranty. This past weekend I was attempting to replace the mower blades when the securing bolt broke, leaving the body in the middle shaft and the head/blade system separated. I've been in communication with EGOs customer service via ******** Messenger and today they tell me that they will not be helping any further as the breakage is due to "misuse and neglect." They cite that the misuse is from not changing the blades in a timely manner and neglect in the form of corrosion on one part. My counter-argument was the blades currently show no sign of damage and I was only looking to change them recently as my grass showed signs dull blade cut with the last mowing. The part they claimed showed corrosion was not ***** at all, it was dirt/soot on it, the part clearly is not corroded. I feel that because they were running out of ways to escape honoring the warranty, they made up an excuse (each question they asked they accepted my answer and their final rounds of questioning they started off with "lastly...").Initial Complaint

EGO Case #: ******** Purchased EGO LM2130 Mower from Lowes 3/24/24. It was defective, returned same day for identical exchange. On 5/24/24 the second mower also became defective. I contacted EGO Power Equipment, explained problem. Agent took me through a few trouble shooting tests which showed the mower was defective. Agent asked where I lived, saying he would find a warranty repair center that was an acceptable distance from my home. The agent said repair center was Ace Hardware in **********, **. After googling address it showed a 1 hour 16 minute drive time. I explained to the agent that this was excessive. After dropping off, driving home, then driving to pick up, then home again I would be driving for 5 hours 4 minutes. Agent said that by EGO standards this was considered a reasonable amount of driving. I told him mower was two months old & used 6 times, could they exchange it? Agent said EGO's Warranty policy stated it had to be repaired provided I lived within a reasonable distance to a repair center. So EGO considers 5 hours 4 minutes of driving to be reasonable! I argued the unfairness of this and demanded a solution that didn't burden me with a 5 hr drive. Agent cut me off saying EGO could do nothing more for me and disconnected the call.I believe EGO has failed to provide adequate warranty repair center coverage within the area in which they sell their product. For instance, I live 12 minutes from the Lowes store where EGO sells their products and where my mower was purchased, but I live 1 hour 16 minutes from their repair center. That constitutes a driving ratio difference of Sales to Service of 6 to 1, which is excessive even by the most liberal of standards. Given the circumstances I am requesting BBB ask EGO Power Equipment (AKA Chevron) to offer a more equitable solution to this problem. A reasonable solution could be "a replacement mower unit" or "providing roundtrip shipping/transporting for completion of warranty repair work".Initial Complaint

on 9/24/24 I purchased an Ego LM2114 Electric Lawn Mower. I used it 3 or 4 times last year. I stored the battery appropriately indoors and this year when the battery is fully charged, it only lasts between ***** minutes. They advertise 55 minutes running time on a fully charged battery. 30 minutes is NOT enough time for me to mow my lawn and I have to recharge it ( over an hour) and then finish it off. This is FALSE ADVERTISING or at the very least a defective battery. I called up Ego and they denied that the battery is faulty and denied the warranty claim. Upon doing research on the internet I see plenty of other people have the same problem and also this company is rated an "F" by your agency.
