I signed up with this company to promote my painting business, but I didn't gain any customers or jobs or anything from them. I never saw any website that they were supposed to make. I paid them quite a bit of money, but never saw anything for my investment. When I told them I was done and no longer wanted to use them, they told me I had to pay them off, so I did. Now, it's been over a year ago and someone called me today and is demanding money again. They are a scam trying to take my money.Initial Complaint

Beginning in 2021 we received a phone call from this company stating we had an open invoice with them that needs paid. Given their name, we thought it was yellow pages. Each quarter now they call wanting payment. They state that in the initial call I agreed to a contract, they played the recording and no where talks about a contract, only confirmation to run the payment. I kept paying these foolishly, but then caught on to this and another company doing the same thing. Now, each time we have paid they claim that it is the last payment. Then months go by and they call again wanting payment, stating now this is the final payment. On the last payment I made, I recorded our conversation where they say this is the final payment. Now, they are calling again saying that the last payment was the final for the quarter and we have one more payment due for our "Contract". Since that last recording I have refused to pay, they non stop call wanting paymentInitial Complaint

YP Local Media Called our office and stated they were updating our information for Yellow Pages. I was told there would be no charge for this and was asked to sign online that we updated our information. Three months later our office got a bill for $599. It has accumulated every quarter since. We have stated to the caller that we are not going to pay this bill and to cancel whatever they signed us up for the day we got the 1st bill. We are harassed by calls every week wanting payment .. they have also claimed to have sent us to collections but the same person called stating they were a collections company his name is *****. We have told him that we were not going to pay it but he still calls every week for payment . We just let him sit on hold when he calls now . This was a scam and I dont know how many other offices they have done this to. But someone should shut them down.Initial Complaint

Just a week ago, I received an email stating that I have an outstanding balance on an account with **********************. I responded to the email I received and stated that they must have me mistaken because at no time did I authorize any subscription service with YP Local Media. YP Local Media better not be forwarding any charges to my name since another person in my household was using YP Local Media, but that person is now deceased. I am not responsible for the other relative's account who lived in my household. So far, no response from YP Local Media. Here is the email I sent as a reply:*******,I do not understand how I am being invoiced. First of all, I don't even recall receiving any email or correspondence that I signed up to have my business listed in Yellow Pages. Secondly, I told the person I spoke to that I would not be able to continue with a subscription to Yellow Pages and to stop it. I don't know that person's name, but why would I be billed for a disclosed amount when I wasn't even billed month by month? I never received any bills by email or by mail stating that I owe a specific amount. I need to file a claim and appeal this because first of all, I am unemployed and have been unemployed for over a year now. I do not have the means to pay for this amount. At the same time, I didn't give any authorization stating that I would continue with a subscription to Yellow Pages. So it doesn't make any sense to me why would I be invoiced for this amount? I cannot and I will not pay for this amount because I didn't authorize it. Why would Yellow Pages continue with a subscription in my name when I haven't even authorized any payments? Think about it.... I will not set up any payment arrangement because I did not approve this and there haven't even been any deductions from my bank account even if I had a card on file. If I had a card on file, it has to be inactive and not usable. I will take this up to management if this cannot be resolved. *********************************Initial Complaint

The company is alleging I signed a contract to render services, but in my position I am not authorized to do that. I initialed a document they sent me stating I received information about what their business does, they have since alleged I signed a full binding contract and that they rendered services totaling $2500 and it needed to be paid or settled. There was no CEO who approved this alleged contract and they only have my name as a contact and have outsourced someone to call and harrass and threaten legal action. They stated they have a recording of my call, but can't prove it, they also state they have documentation of their services and to "keep my eyes peeled" for that email. I have never received any such email. This company is predatory and harrassing businesses to get money not owed to them.Initial Complaint

Today 7/31/23 I spoke with YP Local Media representative ***************************** ********************** who states that *************** Center signed a contract for services rendered by Y.P. Local Media on 9/13/2022. ****************** states that one quarterly payment was made towards the account. She states that $606.19 was paid and that a balance of $1,863.26 remains which can be reduced to $1,500. She also states she will not remove the account from auto-renewal without the account being brought up to date. Most companies would not renew an account with a delinquent balance past due. It was explained that our office has no record of this transaction. She states the transaction was made by credit card but she could not identify which credit card ****** Amex, Master Card) was used. I requested a copy of the signed document be sent for review. The invoice received does not have an authentic signature on it. It shows a computer generated signature called "Scriptina" which may be downloaded for free from **************************. Moreover, the fake signature does not show the correct spelling of the business manager's name. If he were to sign the contract, he would spell his own name correctly. Records show that ** payments have been made, ** contract has been signed, and ** financial transaction of any kind has been made at anytime. It has been requested by e-mail that YP Local Medica cease all communication with *************** Center.Initial Complaint

A guy by the name of ***** keeps calling our office saying his company name is YP Local Media. He claims that we have an unpaid balance for services never received. He claims I signed a contract and information is coming from our ** address. When I asked to send me a copy of the contract that I supposedly signed, it's a form with my name in some type of font, clearly not my signature. It is not my signature. The ** address times that he sent me to look at are out of our business ours. We do not operate at 7a.m. nor we operate at 10p.m. I believe whoever this person or company is, they are trying to scam people and business.Initial Complaint

I had gotten a call from the company asking if my employer wants us listed in YP Local Media and I told them to please send me an invoice so I can look over what we would be getting and so I can see the payment amount to see if I want to move forward. They took that as "sign me up" and called asking for payment a week or so later. I told them I still haven't looked it over and they said too bad I already said I wanted it and asked if I needed to hear the recorded call from a week ago and I said yes and again no where did I ever say yes I want to move forward and I pointed that out to them but they nit pick at the wording and said since I asked for an invoice that means I'm willing to pay and because I said I'm an authorize buyer for the company apparently that is an automatic yes to them. I asked for an invoice to see what we would be getting and that I will pay if we decide to take the next step. It is a huge scam. Luckily I never gave them any payment information or they would have charged me. I have looked up our company on their website and nothing comes up so I know for a fact that we never have worked with them or had them print us in their magazine.Initial Complaint

We received a call from YP local media stating that they wanted to update our information. I asked them was there a charge for this and they told me no. They sent me an email to approve and in the fine print there were charges. That I did not see until they called me stating that we had a bill. If I had know about the fee I never would have approved the document that they sent me. They basically scammed me into signing something totally different that what they described to me over the phone and when I told them to cancel it and they we were not going to pay it they told me that they could not.Initial Complaint

Like others, we got a call dropping employee names and saying that verbal authorization was given for a contract. First, the individual they named has no authority to verbally authorize anything of that sort, and 2nd, we don't do anything verbally. We are law firm. I can see that many are having this problem with them.
