Next Chapter Properties provides absolutely terrible customer service! Beware College students and parents. We have sadly rented apartments at *** *** *** *** ****** in ********** **. The apartments are OK, fairly clean with budget furniture. The problem is with maintenance and ability to contact if you have a problem. At *** *** the general areas were filthy, there was human feces all over the work out room bathroom. The elevators and stairs were also filthy with vomit and litter every time we visited. There were several maintenance issue with *** *** namely paid for "secured parking" with no ability to close the garage door for most of the year. The company did not respond to requests to resolve/fix or reimburse for breaking their contract.
*** ****** *lso has poorly maintained common areas, and the company has not resolved maintenance issues such as outlets that do not work, broken drawers. in August they changed the locks even though tenants were the same, gave wrong keys twice. Students were locked out of their apartment for an entire day. Messages were left on their "emergency" helpline with no response. Messages were left on every voice message option with no response. They put our kids safety at risk with no lock for their apartment! We sadly stayed at *** ****** *gain to save the hassle of moving to another apartment and already totally regret our decision. Don't be fooled by the "home grown" U of IL ownership, they are simply poor managers who saw a way to make money off students and their families. Find another place to live.
