      I used tax slayer to do my taxes in April. I got an email saying I have to login to get my refund. The side won’t let me login and it won’t send me a verification code. I have tried to call them repeatedly and can only ever get a machine. I have called sever different numbers linked to their business and they all have nothing but a machine that is asking me for the information I’m trying to contact them to get help with. I’m really worried that I’ve been scammed out of my refund. Their site said I was supposed to get 1872.00 but I can’t access it.

      Upon reviewing this taxpayers account, they utilized the TaxSlayer.com software as part of the *** **** program that provides free tax preparation for eligible individuals. Specifically, this taxpayer was provided a link to our DIY application by MyFreeTaxes which is a partner of the *** **** program. When taxpayers utilize our software as part of the *** **** program, the entity that provided access to our software is also the entity that is required to provide customer support. This taxpayer should contact MyFreeTaxes for assistance with their tax return. MyFreeTaxes can be reached via e-mail at [email protected]. We have also notified MyFreeTaxes of this complaint as well as provided MyFreeTaxes with the contact information for this taxpayer. We did take a look at this taxpayers account and their Federal return was rejected on April 13th due to their Prior Year AGI or PIN not matching *** records. It is also important to note that TaxSlayer (nor any tax software application) processes taxpayer refunds. We are simply the vessel used taxpayers use to prepare and file their tax returns to the ***. Since this taxpayers. All this taxpayer needs to do is log into their account, correct their tax return and resubmit to the ***. Below are steps on why their tax return was rejected and how to fix. The Prior Year AGI or Prior Year Pin entered for the Primary Taxpayer's electronic signature does not match the *** master file.

      To correct this, please select “E-file” from the left menu, Then Yes, I am ready to file my return(s), Click on "Continue" on Products and Services, then finally click on "EDIT" from the Sign and File box, then complete the E-file process to the *** PIN Page. Here you can verify the information that you entered. We recommend you use the prior year AGI rather than the PIN. If you do not remember your Prior Year PIN or Prior Year Adjusted Gross Income, you will need to refer to the prior year return and find the Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) on the return. Your prior year's adjusted gross income (AGI) can be found on one of the following lines depending on your specific tax form: Line 11 of Form ****/*******

      If you do not have access to the prior year tax return that was e-filed, click here to obtain a tax transcript from the *** website. If you did not file a return last year or you filed after October 15th, enter 'No' that you did not file a return last year. We will automatically enter a '0' for the prior year AGI amount. If the return continues to be rejected, you may need to print, sign and mail the return.

      I filed my taxes with them January ***** they said ******* bank was distributing my refund. No one will help me and still haven’t received my refund that I so desperately need. They also charged a filing fee when it said $0

      The taxpayer did not select the free program when the return was started- the Classic Edition was selected. 

      The Free return is available
      to those taxpayers with a simple return. This return did not meet the
      qualifications for the free return because of the following reasons:

      The taxpayer elected to used our option to have the fees deducted from their refund. When this election is made, once the IRS processes the return and releases the refund, the refund is sent to the third-party bank. The refund never goes to TaxSlayer.       TaxSlayer is a tax return filing software that promises maximum refund, accurate tax filing and many other claims to attract consumers to use their online tax filing software. Therefore I used TaxSlayer online software to file my taxes.
      After filing the taxes, I read on the *** website that income from the ****** ***** *** ****** ****** **** *** ***** ** ********** is not taxable. However, the TaxSlayer software included that in my income which resulted in higher taxes.
      As a result I was required to pay another $42 dollars to file an amended return. As a user, I see this is a flaw in TaxSlayer software that is intended to assist users to fill the 1040 correctly, but it failed to to that.
      I tried twice requesting TaxSlayer to refund the $42 that they charged me due to their software flaw, but they denied.

      We recently received an email from the customer regarding a refund for the $42 amended return fee.

      On ******** *** ****, the *** issued guidance on certain states stimulus payments and how or if they were to be taxed. California stimulus payments are not to be reported on the tax return based on that guidance.

      TaxSlayer is a self-preparation software were the taxpayer is responsible for preparing their own return.. We do have a vast knowledgebase that can be accessed from any where in the return by choosing the Help & Support button on the top of your screen. By visiting the knowledgebase, you can see which states do not need to report their state stimulus payments.

      As a courtesy, I am requesting the amended return fees be refunded to the customer. Please allow 10-14 business days for the refund request to be processed. The fees will be refunded to the account they were processed from.

      ******* I paid them to file my taxes knowing what I would get back due to having accounting experience. They kept making me change dependents till I wasnt getting next to anything back. When I filed with another company the exact way I tried to file with them in the first place. It went thru first try. So I dont think this company is helpful to people struggling to make ends meet.

      According to our records, the return was rejected by the IRS for a dependent on the return already being claimed as a dependent on a return that was accepted. This rejection is from the IRS and not from TaxSlayer. We cannot bypass the rejection.

      Review of the current account shows that dependent has been removed and the refund amount has increased- not decreased. 

      I am happy to provide the user with a refund for the state return (federal was free). Please note that the state return will be removed from the account. Please allow 7-10 days for the refund to be processed.

      I am a licensed *** *** *** ******* *********** I have not been able to process any returns after the client sign the return because TaxSlayer's software is NOT populating the client signature on the return, after the client sign the return through TaxSlayer's Portal . It is totally go against all due diligence required by the IRS for me or TaxSlayer to obtain the client signature and don't file the return. I have made several phone calls and spoke with multiple reps with no resolve. This is day 3 or not being able to process a return (This is not providing the service advertised by Taxslayer) I would like the problem resolved, a rebate for the 3 days the services were not rendered, and a call back from the business with a time frame how long it will take to correct this horrendous situation.

      Tax payer was told to file on line, with TaxSlayer, by ****, website states, Welcome to the Tax Slayer ******** self-prep kiosk, Access to prepare and e-file 1040-NR, 1040-PR, PR is for Self-employment persons in ***** **** Form 1040(PR) to compute self-employments tax,NR is for a nonresident alien engaged in a trade or business in the aunited States, arepresented a deceased person who would have had to file Form 1040-NR,, it also states if you qualify for a free federal return under the IRS Free File Program delivered by Tax-Slayer, you can also file free state return for the following states, **** was not one of the ones for this Program, so you can not do your state with TaxSlayer, they don't tell you that up front, was also told this was going to be free, it was not, was on computor for hours, doing the work, at the end of the day, nothing was completed, Federal was done when started on the state, after completing it came stating you can not send state, you will need to mail it print it off, because of this now knowing you can not do state of ****, the document can not be completed, it stated you made an error, go back and fix the problem when you try to go back,to that document, was forwared an email stating your account has been accessed from an unrecognized device, go back to your account and change your pass word, this was all because you can not do your state, is this the case or not, the fact is that if your not paying the return will not be completed, if it is a simple return, as this one was, now they have all your information for ever on file, went back to try to delete information, your name can not be removed other information was removed?,so the account was "Hacked",TaxSlayer states your Security is our Priority, at TaxSlayer, we are 100% committed to keeping your personal data secure, TaxSlayer as well violated ther Licence Agreement, with there Multi-Layer authentication when logging in this nothing more than a "scam" S.S.       This individual, through ****, not TaxSlayer, received a URL to prepare their own return for free. The only limitation in utilizing this URL through the IRS ******** program is the *** must be less than $73,000. In reviewing this individuals account, the return, both Federal and state (****) met the *** limitation and would have been a free service. Our records indicate this individual made no attempt to contact **** support for assistance and also did not attempt to contact TaxSlayer ******** support either. This individual, at any point, could have contacted **** directly through the Help link within their account or by reaching out to the **** site that provided the link initially. If the individual wishes to deactivate their 2022 account, all they need to do is log into their account, select Settings in the left navigation panel followed by Transaction History. The Transaction Page, at the bottom, provides the option to "Deactivate Tax Return".

      I tried to remove my account from the taxslayer.com site but there is no option within their settings of any kind. I tried to send them a request through their form on their site but received an email stating that I had to request to delete my account while logged in (I was logged in when I completed their form). Then I viewed their ridiculous response to my request again (both in email and from their site) and tried to reply to it on their site through my inbox but it won't allow me to reply. I tried several times. THIS BUSINESS NEEDS TO DELETE MY ACCOUNT AND ALL OF MY PERSONAL INFORMATION IMMEDIATELY. I DON'T WANT AN ACCOUNT ON THEIR SITE, I DON'T WANT THEM TO HAVE MY INFORMATION, AND I DON'T WANT THEM TO SELL MY INFORMATION. Their site is not user friendly at all. That is why I had to go to a competitor, despite the competitor being more expensive to file my return.

      According to our records, the account was deleted on ******** *** **** after receiving an email from within the account requesting the deletion. 

      For security reasons, when a request to delete an account is received, we need to verify the identity of the taxpayer. We do this through the taxpayer sending us a request from within their account that only they have access to.? We also provide instructions on how to log into the account if the user has forgotten the username or password.

      I originally purchased the 2022 version of their Pro Web service. Prior to the service, I informed the sales person that I needed to obtain a new EFIN as my previous EFIN had been terminated and I had been instructed by the IRS to obtain a new one. I was told by the salesperson that once I obtained the new EFIN to inform TaxSlayer and they would switch my new EFIN over. I purchased the software and began preparing tax returns. Once my EFIN was approved I contacted sales to inform them. The salesperson told me to submit my driver's license and information from the IRS stating that I had a new EFIN. I did that. Then I was told the next day to update the information on the Hub. I did that. Day 3 they are asking for a business license and Articles of Organization. First, this has NOTHING to do with Taxslayer. They have information from the IRS stating I have an active EFIN. They did not tell me I needed to provide any of this irrelevant information when I purchased the software. The IRS doesn't require it. Then in the same conversation, I was told that I would lose ALL of the data I have entered for the current tax year, that I would have to re-enter all the information (60 tax returns at the current count). But I can't do that because the information would be lost once the new account is created. The person I spoke with was evasive when I asked for a contact to the quality assurance department. She then told me the Director of Sales would call and reiterate the same thing. This very poor customer service. I spoke with a former salesperson who worked for Taxslayer Pro and they informed me in all her years working there they were NEVER required to ask for an individuals personal business information.

      TaxSlayer Pro is wanting to help Mr ****** and has advised him we need Mr ***** to send TaxSlayer required IRS documents to move forward with his request.

      Despite repeated uses of the "unsubscribe" button. I am continuing to get spam in my email.

      This is after they used highly confusing webpage layouts in an attempt to trick me into paying for tax filing, despite my best attempts to utilize their inclusion in the IRS Free File program.

      Technically im complaining about both here, but I mostly want these emails to stop.

      Review of this account shows that the Free File link on the IRS website was not used to create the account. This information was already stated to the customer in an email dated ******* ***2023. Free File is an IRS program and you must utilize their link when the account is created to have it marked as Free File and no charges apply.
