RNN Group called my Wifes employer to verify my employment and then called right back to verify my employment. I have not worked for her employer. Neither of us applied for loans or any made any other submissions that would require a VOE. I was not informed that anyone would be doing a VOE and it is concerning that RNN Group has not reached out to us personally, nor did they disclose what company contracted them to handle this matter. It is very discerning that a company is seeking information about us and we have not been informed of this.Business Response

On Wednesday, December 18, 2024, RNN Group initially contacted us via fax to verify employment. Shortly after, they called requesting the same information over the phone. My secretary explained our company policy will not allow us to verify over the phone and said I was in the middle of payroll and would address it as soon as possible.About 15 minutes later, they called again, requesting verification over the phone again. We reiterated that we do not provide verification by phone, and they hung up. Later that afternoon, I attempted to send the fax, but it failed despite multiple attempts. On Thursday morning, December 19, 2024, RNN Group called again. I explained the fax hadnt gone through and asked if they had another fax number. The representative insisted on verbal confirmation, which I declined, repeating our policy. She then abruptly hung up.Business Response

RNN Group continually contacts our office posing as an employment verification/agent. I am the HR Manager of a business and have received 2 emails from ************************************************* requesting employment verification for 2 separate employees. The first red flag is these employment verifications always go to our accounting department which are then forwarded to me. I'm sure most reputable companies know accounting does not handle employment verifications. The most recent one was today. The employee name and SS# do not match and the phone number listed in the email does not allow you to talk to anyone, so this is obviously a scam. The phone number listed in the email is ************. When I called the number, it said to press 1 if you are an employer calling to verify employment. When I pressed 1, I get a message that says "we are sorry, an application error has occurred, goodbye". So fake and sad they try to get information about people from their employers. Whoever this is needs to be shut downBusiness Response

*** keeps calling our business trying to verify employment on multiple individuals at our company. First they made several attempts by email until we all agreed to block their domain, and now they have started with making phone calls to verify several individuals employment. We checked with our employees and all have said that they should not have any credit inquiries nor seeking any new employment, I am one of the individuals. Called RNN, they told me they needed a reference number. However when they call, they never provide us one on voicemail or when speaking with individuals at my company. If they keep it up, we will continue to file complaints. ThanksBusiness Response

I am rejecting RNN's response as they indicate they provide reference numbers, and this is not the case, no reference numbers have ever been provided to any of my co-workers when *** has reached out requesting employment verification on me and or others and when called RNN ask for a reference number. Do you see any issue here. it is a loop they have created in which you cannot get any answers. We are just trying to find out why they are requesting employment verifications on employees and not providing anyway for us to reference and find out exactly what companies they are doing this for. Instead of sending a canned message, I suggest RNN actually addressing and responding to this issue directly. So, in order to satisfy my complaint I'd ask that *** provide a reference number on their multiple request to my company regarding my employment and any others moving forward to avoid complaints to the BBB.Sincerely,

This company contacted me posing as an employment verification company yet they had access to persons social and DOB and tried to get me to confirm items without stating for whom they were confirming. Seems very much like a scam. If they are a debt collector they must acknowledge such. If they are third party to an action they must acknowledge such. They are trying to gather information for someone and I nor anyone that answers here will give out personal information to a company that operates in this manner. Multi phone calls to every number listed. Almost to the point of harassment. I am an HR representative for a privately owned company. This business is harassing my department about an employee/previous employee but refuses to tell me what this information will be used for or why they are calling. If I do not know why you are asking for employee information (usually new job or something closely related), I am inclined to think this is a shady business. Also, asking personal information is a huge red flag and should NEVER be asked for - why are you asking me about SS numbers?? Absolutely not. I trust this company about as far as I can throw them.Business Response
