      On April 12 HVAC tech visited my condo for spring maintenance visit. Tech called me since I live out of town as this is my rental. He said that my unit was not cooling. He said my options were they could do electronic leak search, a manual search ranging from $157 To 459, the cost of fixing the leak if one is found, purchasing a new unit, or adding refrigerant and a leak freeze, which would be $600 with my discount. I mentioned to tech that I will not be buying a new HVAC as my unit was only seven years old and had had it maintained twice a year since. Being an out-of-town landlord is difficult to argue or know if this was needed so I opted for the adding refrigerant/leak freeze even though I did think that was very expensive. I received an invoice with a picture attached showing tech had written on my outdoor unit in large black marker: Leak Freeze 4/12/2024. As I had never seen any tech write on my outdoor unit like this, I called the company and complained and on April 18 they sent a tech out to remove the writing. The invoice indicates he was there about 18 minutes where he removed the writing, and I guess painted over it, however the invoice he sent me with a picture of their fix on it you can still see the area where the writing had once been and was now painted over. I called to complain and ops manager told me there was nothing more they could do for me at this point and they consider this issue resolved. I told him I was not happy with their fix and that I did not pay over $600 plus cost of monthly fee for now having this problem of my outdoor unit having being written on in large black permanent marker and their trying to fix it, which in my opinion still looks horrible since outdoor unit does not look like it did prior to tech writing on it although the writing is removed because you can see the area where it was painted over.

      It is a common practice in HVAC for the tech to write on the indoor &/or outdoor what was performed on the call & the date. This way the next time a tech is dispatched to the call they can see what has already been tried should the problem repeat itself. In 75 years of being in business this is the first time we have ever received a complaint. This practice helps other technicians, ultimately saving them time which saves the customer money. The writing has been painted over & resolved

      I am rejecting this response because:

      I have had hvac techs work on my ACs for over 15 years from multiple companies and have NEVER had a hvac tech write in permanent large black letters on my outside hvac unit. This was like vandalism to me and I do not accept their response that this is a common practice! I asked around and no one said a hvac wrote like this on their unit inside or outside ever. Since a customer *** use different companies this also does not make sense anyone would want their unit permanently written on as it is an eyesore to say the least! Before your hvac tech came out my unit looked like it was new and now it does not. The 15 minute fix done to paint over area was not sufficiently done since can still see area where it was had been written on and painted over! I will never use or recommend this company to anyone unless someone would like their unit written on in large black letters! Do far I paid over $600 for refrigerant that *** not have even been needed AND to have my outdoor unit defaced.

      This common practice was rectified by ordering paint from the manufacturer that perfectly matches the outdoor unit. No where in the BBB complaint does the customer make any request she only states that she will never use Estes again. We consider this matter to be complete we have listed her request in our software & marked her as a "do not service".

      I am rejecting this response because:

      Estes costumer service manager on phone told me after I called to complain that they fixed the large black writing on my outdoor hvac by going to ********** and buying paint that matched unit, however when tech went out to paint over the writing he only spent about 15 minutes (this is evident from invoice) and the result was you can tell something was painted over. It does not look like it did before tech came out and vandalized it. If you look at the end result pic you can see it was a sloppy job done. I told customer service manager I was not happy with the sloppy fix tech did and response was to have operation manager call me on a specific date and time. He did not call me on that specific date and time and I had to call him the following day or next before he finally called me back. He never apologized for the tech writing on my outside unit in large permanent marker, insisted adamantly that this was normal practice for their tech to write in large black marker on unit and told me he considered the issue resolved even though he knew I was not happy with the sloppy fix they tried to do. I would like some kind of refund to compensate me so I can buy a new hvac housing panel or have the complete outsize unit professionally painted since what they did to try and fix it looks horrible. I was not happy with how ops manager handled this situation and was acting like I did something to them because I was complaining.

      I am very unsatisfied with the service from Estes Heating and Air. On July 3, 2023, Laphoma ***** from Estes visited my home to repair my HVAC Unit not turning on in the heat of the summer. ******* arrived at 11:11 a.m. and repaired the unit. By 2:00 p.m. the same day, the unit was no longer working again. Due to the extreme heat, Estes sent another technician by the name of ************************* out who examined what ******* had done earlier and stated that what I really needed was a Bypass Damper. This was also place in writing via email to me by a ***************************** on July 10, 2023. ************************* advised that he could install the Bypass Damper and to call the company headquarters and ask that he come back out to install the Bypass Damper. Although not assigned to my region, ****** stated that the customer gets what he/she wants and to make the request. I called that day and scheduled ************************* for October 2, 2023, which was when he would be available in my area. The representative confirmed that ************************* would be the technician assigned. On October 2, 2023, Laphoma ***** showed up instead of *************************. Although quiet angry, I allowed ******* to continue with installing the Bypass Damper. To my surprise ******* informed me that a Bypass ****** was not what I needed, and that I needed instead a comfort analysis. I informed ******* that October 31st would be the next available date for the comfort analysis. I later learned after reviewing the invoice that ******* erroneously scheduled it for November 31st. There isn't even 31 days in November. When I called the office to get things changed, I spoke with ****** or ******* where I asked to speak to a manager. ****** or ******* informed me that **** or *****, the field supervisor would call me. As of October 16th, I have never heard from Estes (****) at all. I have been given the run around and been put off by Estes. I'm fed up. They have horrible customer service. I'm not a fool.

      Laphoma repaired unit on 7/3. Later that afternoon the system stopped cooling again and found that a GFIC outlet in a bathroom tripped that the furnace was tied into. Furnaces should be on their own circuit. While ****** was there he checked the unit and recommended items to correct the zoning system, dedicated transformer and bypass damper. Customer wanted to proceed with the bypass damper in October. When part was scheduled for repair ****** was unavailable to do the repair that day. Laphoma went out to complete repair and found the supply plenum in poor shape and that adding the bypass to the plenum would cause damage to the supply plenum. Laphoma recommended a comfort analyst to quote a new plenum. The date of the appointment with the comfort analyst got messed up. Sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.  What would you like for us to do?  Would you like us to send out a comfort analyst to give you an estimate to replace the zone system?

      Unacceptable customer service. Telling me I have to pay a second time for something that was never fixed the first time. Told technician that the first time. Still have the same problem. Without having to pay $79 again.Please help.

      I am rejecting it for clarification.  I paid for it to be fix initially.  It was not and still having the same problem I was experiencing.  I understand that they will send someone out no charge for a second opinion, but it did not specify whether it will be fixed at no charge since I paid for it to be fixed initially correctly.  

       

      Also, customer service still exists, called to speak with mgr. but  Mgr never returning call and saying she is still in a meeting for over 2 weeks.  At one point they said she was out of ********* for a week but she was there.

      I am rejecting this response because: gurgling sound still exist.  Tech did not resolve the gurgling sound and  water . Paid them to fix problem thinking they fix it but it was a small leak tech didn't mention to be which is the reason water low, it's because it's coming out. Technically I don't think it was a clogging issue but am issue with the water leaking that's why little water and gurgling and handle not working because no water in tank because leaking.

      As you can see in the communication history we have reached out to the customer multiple times offering to send a plumber out to diagnose the issue at no charge. The customer never returned our calls from August of 2023, which is all she has to do for this to be resolved.

      The plumbing job was done today 8-4-2023, I called estes plumbing on 8-3-2023 was told I would have to wait until next day, what my complaint is at retail I could have bought the materials from ********** for ***** dollars and they were here for ten minutes, and charged me ****** dollars. they know you are sitting there with water turned off, and I suppose they have license to ***** customers what ever they want. told them I would not ever call them back again, also do not ever need there a/c service after they complete this year for maintenance which I have already paid in advance, I think ***** dollars a minute is outrageous ****** L *** *********** I will call somebody else next time ,and wish I had this time

      ***************************** and I both reside at the address listed. We have a few complaints on the company. The chief complaint has to do with some plumbing work they performed for us last year. On August 24th, we put in an order for Estes to do some plumbing work for us. We needed them to fix the water pressure in our home and fix our leaky sink in the kitchen, fix a toilet issue in our master bedroom, and fix the washer hookups in the laundry room. They came out and did some work, but the kitchen sink was still leaky (and still is today), the new toilet they installed is rocking, and the washer water hookups are backwards (the hot is the cold and the cold is the hot). The initial charge was $3650. When they did that work and it didn't fix the pressure problem, they said they needed to dig up out main water pipe. That cost us another $3384, for a total of around $7,000. When we asked for them to come back out and fix the issues that weren't fixed... They tried to charge us more money. I told them no and that they needed to fix their shotty work. They left without doing anything. I'm fed up. After paying that much money, one would expect the issues to be fixed. Finally, they came out to "routinely service" our air conditioner this week and now it's constantly running when we had NO trouble out of it before their visit. I'm tired of the trouble. I want them to fix the things they have been paid to fix. I'm tired of them milking us for everything we have. They are nothing more than high pressure salesmen that don't even do quality work.

      ********************* authorized the installation of damaged Registers in the ceiling of my home. He informed me that Premium Registers came that way to his company. I informed him that the registers were bent, paint stripped off the screws, and thermostats were not programmed. He refused to correct the damaged Premium Registers. I made every effort to resolve the matter and emphasized that my intention is to pay as soon as the problems are corrected (see email). He refused. Even before the work was finished, I was told my payment was late (see e-mail). Estes Services, **** was paid in two amounts with an **************** Card, minutes apart because **************** gave an incorrect total: amounts paid; $4,225.00 and $450.00 equals $4,675.00. $250.00 of the sum total was for Honeywell **** Second Thermostat that was not a part of the contract.The manager's behavior was unacceptable. My understanding from our conversation: the technician was to change out the damaged registers (same as) in the ceiling. **************** was informed that, I shall await a return call from you to re-schedule an appointment. The manager was very argumentative, aggressive and disrespectful. Each time I made an attempt to speak, the manager verbally spoke over me.

         The complainant has not paid Estes for any of the services rendered. An Estes employee was sent to her house with new registers, she refused to let them in her house. Subsequently she was offered a refund for the registers +$250 & she was offered for Estes to pay another contractor of her choosing to replace the registers. She did not accept any of our offers & she still owes $4,000 forcing us to place a lien on her property.

      Please, I need help drastically. Ever since my mother ************************ moved to ************************************************************* in **** Estes Heating and Air was contracted Twice a year to Maintain the Boiler in the Library. They would be called in April of each year to Weatherize the Boiler for Spring, and in October to Weatherize the House for Winter. This contractual arrangement worked well from **** Until 2022. In the year 2022 April I was instructed by Estes that they had no professional persons able to come out to private residences, they were training a class of *********** who all would graduate in the Spring of 2023. Thus for the entire year of 2022 the Boiler never received no Spring Servicing, no Winter Servicing at all. In Spring 2023 I made an Appointment during the winter season to have The Boiler serviced, their was a problem on January 16 **** Estes came and found their was a problem with the check control Board. Estes believed the molex plug had wiggled loose and was the cause of the problem. On 01/25/2023 the Boiler stopped working. A second visit and a new control board was recommended. Please from that day to now 02/03/2023 all the Boiler keeps doing is running for hours, upon hours. producing very little heat. I have phoned Estes twice reminding them I need a control Board But no one follows through, no one cares and I get the feeling I will have to wait a year before I get a control board. I have to be running after Estes as if I am begging them for service they don't care. And Believe me its annoying to hear the Boiler run for long hours and produces little heat. I dare not turn of the boiler the pipes would freeze and believe me with ******* Probate Court holding up my letters of Administration since **************************** died on 08/06/2022 I have no money. If Estes is no longer interested in doing the Job will Coolray take over the job. Contact me quickly at ********** we need to speak on this

        As is consistent with this gentleman's maintenance agreement in place with Estes we have serviced this system twice a year on the following dates:

      10/29/21 furnace inspection

      4/7/22 AC inspection

      12/9/22 Furnace inspection

      1/16/23 Furnace inspection + no heat. The technician was able to get the furnace operational by toggling a plug to the control board.

        On 1/25/23 we were called back out for a furnace not heating call. The technician found the same problem again, he ordered a control board & wiring harness. The control board was available locally but the wiring harness has to come from the factory & has not arrived. As soon as it does these items will be repaired & heat will be restored for good. 

        There is another source of heat in the house so there should not be an issue with pipes freezing.

      I am rejecting this response because: I live at ************************ 2022 No winterization of the Boiler took place. From I was told that they had no employees to service the Boiler and that they had to train a new class of recruits who would Graduate in January 2023 I was livid. Please also note that Estes Has Offices way up Route 285 and also has offices on ******** Avenue, Estes has a Heating, Air and ********************** Estes Plumbing. According to the Bills I have in front of me Estes Heating and Air did do maintenance work on the Boiler on 04/7/2022 but that was for Preparation For Spring. Estes Plumbing did work on 04/27/2022, 05/16/2022, and 10/4/2022. On 09/12/2022 and new Estes Heating and Air contract was paid and its around this occasion that I learned that Estes had no employees to Service Veta Wilsons Boiler not before the Graduating Class of 01/2023. No one cared, no one followed through, I had to wait until January to take the initiative to get someone to come out and service the Machine. see its 4:53 am, Sunday February 6 and the Boiler is running all day and all night, day in day out and this has been going on Since January. I need my boiler fixed and I need to have the ability to contract with another heating company the longer Estes takes

      *******, we have documentation & invoices to support our claims. I'm not sure where you are obtaining information regarding locations, but it is incorrect & irrelevant to this conversation. The part required to repair your furnace is being shipped from the Carrier factory & will be installed as soon as it arrives. Estes has zero control over a manufacturer of a furnace &/or its supply chain. You are free to contract with any HVAC company you desire & should you chose to cancel your agreement with Estes we will refund you for the unused portion of your maintenance agreement.

      I was told in August 2022 that my service contract would end. I scheduled my final inspection in August but due to scheduling conflicts they needed to reschedule that final service to September 2022. I specifically asked if moving the final inspection to Sept would affect the ending of my contract and was told that it would not affect it since it was originally scheduled in August and my contract would end August 2022. In December 2022 I noticed that they were still debiting my account each month so I called. I was transferred to a very rude supervisor who basically told me that they would review my call in Aug and if I was told that the contract would renew then I would be responsible for the year contract. Next day I get a call that the contract would be cancelled. I have asked for a refund of the debits taken in Sept, Oct and Nov as I did not authorize a new contract to begin. I have been tossed back and forth between representatives. I explained that if a new contract was initiated by me then I should have received documentation about the new contract details which I have not! I also have not signed any new contracts! Do not sign any contracts with this company!!

      I had a plumbing problem in which my toilets were bubbling as I took a shower and then all of the water would drain out of the toilet and refill later.Called Estes to come out and check the problem and after a second or third call they came out and stated that I needed a newer line and that would fix my problem.They gave me a price for repair and installation and the plumber installed the sewer line.I had to take out a $5,000 loan as the repair cost was $4,755 for the work to be done.Within one week my yard was bubbling up water and sinking and continuing to do so. I have literally begged them to come and fix it to no avail. I chose this company because I thought that they were a reputable company able to do the job correctly, I am very disappointed.They are still refusing to correct the situation and I still have the original problem that I called them about.I am very disappointed and will never use this company again, nor will I recommend them to anyone.I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS COMPANY

      This plumbing work was completed on 6/25/21 and we are not willing to refund any money because of the following: 1. Since 6/25/21 we have been to the home 9 times and done a ton of work at no charge to prove there are no problems at ***********. the customer is complaining about a sinkhole that is literally small enough to be fixed with a couple bags of sand.  When you dig 6 feet into the gropund settling will happen.  We are not lanscapers and we did not promise to fix the landscaping after we dug up the yard to do the repairs. A year later the site has "sunk" about 3 inches and we have taken pictures to prove how minimal the sinking is.  Again, we did not promise to do any landscaping other than fill in the hole.  3. we ran an entire outflow line to the city tap which is 6 feet underground.  This completely resolved the customer's issue.  Each time we have been to the house on complaint of a clog or bubbling there is no clog and no bubbling present.  Additionally,a month after we did these repairs we went back out to the home on 7/21/21 to prove to the homeowner that the repairs made were correct and there were no more issues at the home.  The county WAS PRESENT at this time and signed off on the work we performed as satisfactory.

      For the reasons above we are not willing to do anything else.  The landscaping issues need to be referred to a landscaper and the plumbing is working perfectly.
